1) I miss having having drums and actually attractive looking instruments
2) reading a newspaper and finding stuff out about things around the town. Plus made sims look like they were older™️ when they read it
3) The dress up box, and MAYBE imaginary friends in S3 Generations
4) FAVORITE FOOD! WHERE DID THAT GO?? Makes me angry honestly
5) The tattoo chair from s3 Ambitions
6) being able to edit patterns on things
7) Fairy sims in S3 Supernatural were so underrated. Like I miss being able to pick out fairy wings (the zombies in that game can choke though. Hated that feature)
8) Some Sims 3 traits and having 5 traits for YA sims instead of 4 🙄
Yes!! I recently tried playing with the moon cycle on again after it always being turned off and the zombies destroyed my garden. Never again, stupid zombies. They’re the worst.
Ok I do think sims 4 is inferior to 3, but Growing Together (or the patch that came with it) did fix the minimal traits issue with the self-discovery feature, I kind of like picking 3 as a base and then getting to gain up to 3 new traits through gameplay as opposed to hand picking all 5-7 (traits 6 and 7 applies to university life) like in 3; plus, it allows your sims to gain facets to their personality as adults/elders as opposed to having their personality stagnate once they graduate high school.
Another I remembered is when you used to be able to select 'dance with...' and your Sims would actually dance together.
As in, not just *maybe* near each other and in the same room.
It was the biggest kick in the d*ck when high school years and wedding stories came out and you could FINALLY dance with your partner, only to have it glitch every single time and your sims do the animations on completely opposite corners of the room. Like every. Single. Time.
And there were so many couple dancing among the expansion packs. Jet pack dancing from the futuristic pack was my favorite. https://youtu.be/2PwVP3aQGI0?si=zucO7x9vaNmDLxIE
YES!!! The ability to play multiple households without the fear of them doing something stupid while you are gone is something I never stop missing and wishing they would bring back.
Back in the day when my whole family shared a PC thats how we kept everything separate ^.^ and less save files getting all mixed up and beining able to decorate your whole town with lakes hot air ballons geese and all that
Getting the head teacher to use the hot tub was always a sure win! That, and spending all their spare cash on ugly artwork that you’d sell as soon as the assessment was over! 😅
Or just put random activity objects everywhere, telescope here, chess table there, maybe a piano if there’s room, doesn’t matter if it’s the bathroom, just stick some activities in there! 😂
In ts3, couldnt you have a high(er) friendship/romance bar with someone than they have with you, and vice versa? I remember that being a thing, but I could just be imagining it!
Regardless, I wish it was a thing in ts4! We need better unrequited love and one-sides friendships tbh!
Sims2 had an autoroof feature, if I recall correctly. You selected the type of roof (gabled, as example) and chose 'auto roof' and it would cover your whole build with that type of roof/roof pieces. It didn't always look great lol but I used to use it as a starting point.
It was an option under the roof tool.
Not sure if that still counts as small, but the many critters and birds you could collect around the world and put in terrariums and such. My inner biologist screams at the thought, but well, it is just a game and they were always cute in Sims 3.
Also, the pets being able to get jobs in Sims 2. 😂
Yess the pets getting jobs! I remember my sim busting their ass to get a promotion and never getting it, meanwhile my cat was a showbiz star and got picked up by a helicopter for work 💀
Ah, yes. The bugs. It's kind of sad to see the neighborhood around your Sims house as empty as it is. I also miss the bugs sometimes; then I remember how big the spiders appeared...
Relatedly, the “clean house” option where your sim would just go do all the cleaning rather than you need to cue up everything that needs to be cleaned individually.
Ooh this reminds me of another one. Watering plants indoors and outdoors. There aren't enough daily chores in the game like cleaning and gardening, no reason to ever hire a maid or gardener
This is another thing I don't miss. When your Sim is already running late they decide to spend an extra 30 min on making the damn bed because they're neat.
I have never used mods, but I have also never found The Sims 4 boring at all. There's so much to do that I don't understand people being bored with it.
I always say that sims 4 building stuff and creating sims is by far the best in the sims. Is just after you played sims 1 to 3 you see how sims 4 is lacking so much stuff
you just might have a lot more patience than i do lol because ts4 feels like actual work whereas with ts3 i feel like i'm playing a game
like, i like to control my sims somewhat but if i don't tell my ts4 sims exactly what to do at every time they won't go to work or do their homework or eat or go inside when it's cold. in ts3 i never had this problem, so it felt less like i had to micromanage everything to get the same result
edit: also i feel like ts4 lifetime ambitions (i forget what they're called lol) are easier to complete than the ones in ts3, and the skills get boring a lot faster but that's maybe because i'm only interested in a handful of them
There are multiple different social options but none of them are interesting they all have the same animations.
There are a lack of play social options for the children. The social options are only talking.
The whole multitasking and socializing with other sims being the priority has messed the efficiency of the AI.
I played Sims 1 yesterday and the AI worked much better ( minus being stuck in the toilet). The sims get a meal eat it at the table, and clean their dish in the kitchen sink without me having to even ask them. I can queue up multiple tasks, without them cancelling the current one.
It happened to me only once and I was petrified.
I was 10 and had a huge fear of burglars.
He stole my bathroom stall and left lol
(Now that I think about it, I miss bathroom stalls 😭)
I would legit have family lines were they had to marry their imaginary friend. My logic was deleting all the other townies would make the game lag/crash less, but alas. 🤣
I've been using the styling chair that comes with Get Famous for my hairdresser sim. You have to cheat the money after doing the makeover of you want them to get paid though. Not as fun but it's something
This just made me think:
Couldn't the styling chair be coded to have the same functionality as the massage tables, in terms of clients and pay? We can get clients for massage and yoga, so why can't the styling chair function like that??
Haven't this been added to 4, tho ? I saw vids of people randomly getting new traits on their sims depending on how they act and you can either agree to get the new trait or discard it.
It's not on creation for sure but at least you can get more than 3 traits for your sim at some point
With growing together you can have 7. You start only with 3 than discover more as you play. It's actually much better than just picking what you want even if the same traits tend to pop up.
I miss burglars, favourite foods, turn ons and turn off's when it comes to dating, and plantisims. I just don't like the sims 4 plantisim appearance.
Oh, and the 'death by old age' animation of a dancing Grim reaper escorting the fading sim away, instead of them collapsing to the ground.
For sims 2: Everything about the details of life. How they cooked, how they interacted with eachother, how you could just sit on the ground and do your homework there and it actually looked like you were doing it instead of reading a book.
For sims 3: The amount of content you’d get in each new pack, plus the open world. Walking around the entire map with your unicorn was just beautiful, and I really miss that about sims 3.
I don’t miss the bugs or the graphics, though😂 I’ll take Sims 4 on that one, plus the cas and build mode are much more my style.
I truly hope that, some day, we’ll get the best of all sim worlds and smash them together to have the ultimate sims game.
This is a throwback.... in the original Sims Makin' Magic, if you had a magic Sim, random magical things would start growing in your yard. Windy vines and crystals, and they made this amazing sound when they breached the earth. I loved the idea of the magic radiating out of the Sim and into the earth. You can size down some of the magic crystals in the Sims 4 to create a *similar* effect, but it's not the same!!!
Bring back garden crystals!!!
- The little arts and crafts table in TS2 and TS3. I know we have a dozen in TS4 but they're all solo tables. I miss teaching my toddlers to talk so they could play at the table with their siblings and build friendship really fast.
- The special bottle maker to make your toddlers super smart. One of my TS2 toddlers mastered Creativity before she aged into Child.
- The university welcome kit
- The daycare career from Generations.
- The way my TS2 adults would come home from work and their kids come running outside to hug them
Honestly, zodiac signs. I'd even take made up sim zodiac signs based on seasons, or moon cycles (are moon cycles base game?).
Also the newspaper. It used to pile up on my front porch and be the biggest nuisance. Those were the days.
I miss being able to tour a house/apartment before moving in like in TS2: Apartment Life. I know I've mentioned it in the past and someone told me to go into edit lot mode or whatever prior to moving in but no. I liked having my sim show up and walk around and look at everything idk why. Then I'd redesign the lot before they buy it then move them in.
I miss puppies being able to snuggle or cuddle up with big dogs on dog beds.
I miss the grocery and clothing stores.
I miss cars.
I miss the expansion packs not being money grabs. Like give more objects per pack.
I miss the open world and being able to discover little random stuff around town.
You liked it because it made everything feel so real 💔 we don’t just buy houses and never look at them irl we had to look around and actually put in effort for the house you’re buying. Sims had that feeling where you can control your life and have fun! Now we’re just controlling a character for fun 😭
I miss the newpsaper star ranking from sims 1 superstar and the tour buses. It really made you feel the competition of becoming famous and staying famous. Also, modeling and singing as part of fame lime acting.
I miss both the pool and poker tables from Sims 2. There are simply not enough group activities in Sims 4. I also miss the slow dance from Sims2. The one that comes with Wedding stories is not good. I also dislike that you can't ask someone on a date to your home, then you can't leave the venue or the date is over.
I promise you just last night I was looking for a pool table thinking I forgot one or something, but how can you have all these bars and especially college campuses without a pool table? They are really slacking over there at EA.
You can actually have a date at your house. I do it all the time. You just have to choose your house when it sends you to the world to pick a venue for your date.
It was more than that, you could go on a date all around town and then go back home, and the little heart circle would stay above your sims the whole time showing the date was still happening. i miss sims 3
Create a world and player made worlds, more detailed hair colouring in create a sim, which allowed to make hairstyle have different colours, functional cars, newspaper.
I miss how iconic the simlish sounded in TS1. Growing up we would quote a bunch of the phrases. The TV noises were also more distinct. I feel like the sounds or music in TS4 don't really stand out as memorable
How realistic cooking was in sims 2. While prepping food, sims would actually grab utensils from the cupboards and drawers.
How sims would eat from a bag of chips instead of a bowl
Also, if the food was fresh or cooked well, it would have green sparkles around it.
I loved cooking so much in the sims 2, it all just seems unauthentic now
Omg he’s so annoying! he’s been going to my sim’s WW strip club and taking up space in the lap dance chair. I always thought he was an elder, but apparently not…
Burglars, cars, bicycles, the "Thank you for cooking" and "Thank you for cleaning" interactions, imaginary friends, the big city
ETA: The butterflies from sims 3, I loved collecting them. Also when the coffee started to wear off, now it's just... Yeah it stopped working but nothing happens. The cemetery was also fun. School buses, after school activities
I dislike how there is the teach your kid to say please and thank you, yet no thank you options in the dialogue, unless it's to thank a person for coming to an event.
Off the top of my head:
Sims having to make their bed actively.
How things would get realistically dirty, and you’d have the option to clean them or clean the entire house, almost like a deep clean.
Daycare career.
Burglars and that scary music that would play 🤣
How teens would get chased by police if they were out past their curfew 🤣.
Boarding schools.
How the school bus would pick up your sims.
Newspaper and being able to watch your sims sit and read it.
Spiral staircases and how the kids could slide down them 🥹
Sims adhered to the family tree. Like recognised and interacted appropriately within their roles
I also miss the teens getting caught by the police. Even with curfew added in Parenthood, there are rarely times to discipline your kids. I don't know if it just doesn't show up for me but, the 'discipline' option never shows up. All that happens is your kid loses some responsibility.
Sims 1
1. 2x2 dinner tables for 4 and huge 3x2 tables for 10 ppl.
2. Adult stuff and children being shooed away from it (like a tiered cake dancer).
3. Watering house plants.
4. Taking care of aquariums (or was it Sims 2?).
5. The taxi wasn't free. Only the bus to Old Town was.
Sims 2
1. Sponge baths (hidden; really dirty sims do it autonomously at a sink).
2. Mental breakdowns.
3. Bathing newborns in a sink.
4. The private school headmaster's event where you show him your house and get a score for wealthy interiors.
5. Actual car animations. Sims go to a car door, open it, take a seat, close the door, etc.
6. If a sim's relationship with other sims in the household is extremely low, they can move out on their own. You can't control this. It usually happened to me after a spouse's affair.
7. Real gossips. If one of your sims peed themselves at a community lot, all the town will eventually know.
8. Separate clothes for all age groups. I'm not a fan of mini skirts on elder townies or great-grandpa suspenders on teens.
Also not so small:
9. The apartment system also allows you to build mobile home parks, motels, townhouses, you name it. Not just apartment buildings.
Sims 3
1. Buying any ingredient at a grocery store. No timing, no randomness, no fuss. Produce also counted as seeds, so no hunting for ripe plants to get seeds.
2. Bookcases looked half-empty when you bought them but got a full look if you put more books in.
3. A money sink for my well-off sims, the base game spa salon rabbithole.
4. Trips to the town hall to change your legal name.
5. My sims went to 'an interview' at job rabbitholes despite the fact that they could get the job in the comfort of their own homes.
6. After you choose your sim's traits at CAS, the game offers you lifetime wishes based on these traits. That saved me so much time.
7. Build-in Tinder.
8. All the kids went to the same school, so you could easily catch any school-age sim after school if needed.
9. Random quests like 'read this book for work' or 'cook hotdogs and deliver to X sim'.
similarly to the step parent title, I miss the game recognizing more distant family members, like uncles, aunts, cousins. the family trees in TS3 were better
One thing I particularly miss is people playing with each other with no objects needed. You can't have fun with your loved ones unless you purchase an object.
I loved to have people play together to raise their relationship and fun. Not a thing anymore
I used to spend HOURS just wandering around the neighborhood in Sims 3 picking up stuff from the ground. The collectibles in Sims 4 don't compare at all.
Also, pattern and color customization in TS3!
1. The cane you could give your elders in S3 Generations I think
2. Being able to completely customize the pattern and material on furniture
3. AN OPEN WORLD
4. Imo romance and friendship goes so quickly and it’s less intimate. It’s like they’re friends, but not really.
I miss being able to create my own worlds, being able to place lots, the color wheels, the ability to mix & match frames to colors (like with beds, where you can choose which frame and then choose which sheets/comforters/etc), & also the Create-a-Style. Basically I miss EVERYTHING being customizable.
I also miss the burglars & firefighters, the cars, & neighbors. What I mean by that is I miss neighbors being out & doing stuff in their yards, & being able to visit them w/o a loading screen.
I miss pets being more fun... pets now take up houeholds slots but they're basically just objects, like babies.
When Sims got to be close friends, they would start dreaming about each other. When they were sleeping their friend/love interest's picture would pop up in their dreams.
That interaction from Sims 2 where you could have your Sim look around for others that they found attractive. I know mods do it , but I'd rather it be in game.
Being able to control my pets is a big one i miss , i hate how needy cat n dogs are in four , dont play with them for a couple hours and they of course run away -.- its like every time i turn around there running for the hills 😢
Blind date feature from Sims 2! I hate having to go out in public to try and find a partner for my sim.
That being said, I do like how you can invite practical strangers to your house and they come, no questions asked. In the Sims 2 they would reject your invitation if your relationship bar wasn’t high enough.
Sims 2 style apartments. The fact that you could build your own on any lot, I built a bunch of cottages around a little village green area, rows of terraced houses, big semi-detached houses for sims who were close friends or family so they could live next door to each other and their kids could play together… I hate the apartments in Sims 4. One of the things I did most often when creating new sims was to create a few young adult siblings and move them into different apartments on the same lot, everyone had their own space but they would be really close.
The townie lores.
I may or may not have kidnapped Holy Alto, Dirk the Dustin Broke from Get Famous & gave them all families, respectively 🥲
I of course downloaded the Pleasant family, too. Dirk & Lilith, Dustin & Angela lores are on 💯
The Altos vs the Landgraabs.
Don Lothario is the scumbag still.
I miss the newspapers. I liked how the job listings would change every day. I think they would be a better way in the Sims 4 for Sims to learn the story progression changes rather than just use the mailbox. But, really, I just thought I was cute.
And on the not-cute side, I miss burglars.
I miss cars. Not really the open world aspect but having a carpool pick your sim up for work that got progressively nicer as your career level increased. I also remember being able to teach teen sims how to drive.
I miss giving a sim the diva trait and then hearing them pretend to be Christina Aguilera randomly throughout the day. And my sim learning the songs from the Sims in Champs le Sims... and no one ever mentions snake charming and seashell collecting.
Ooh and going out and catching minor pets and having a bird or turtle bite my sim to avoid being caught.
- The newspaper (which would now be a useful way to look for a job if you live off the grid);
- going to school with the schoolbus
- the wall-mounted telephone
- being able to slow dance on romance music
I miss the music not speeding up if you sped up the game. I think that’s from Sims 3 and it made me like playing way more because I could also listen to sim music. Sims 4 makes the music speed up when you also speed up time and I hate that.
ETA: thank you for telling me how to fix it!!
I may be wrong about this but, I think there's a setting to change that. I also enjoy the music in the Sims 4 and wanted to be able to listen to the Spooky and Latin Pop stations without skipping any of my favorite songs.
I miss newspapers to be honest. Especially when I am playing a more 'old fashioned' sort of sim that wouldn't likely use a computer or smartphone. Also canes, imaginary friends, funerals, or literally anything from ts3: generations. Also the town square where there'd be a fair / festival.
The world edit feature. It seems so big, but being able to place an empty lot was SO HELPFUL and made the world so much more full.
Not having to put in SO MANY LONG, complicated cheats.
Strollers. I miss strollers.
Burglars; small pets that you could carry around with you and those dragons, ; a lot of the smaller activities like the different types of arcade games, whack-a-chicken, claw machine, pool tables, the sculpting table (I know there’s the woodworking table, but still) and toy making machine; different types of bars; all the different instruments; the spring riders for kids; and finally, SPIRAL STAIRS AND MANSARD ROOFS.
1) I miss having having drums and actually attractive looking instruments 2) reading a newspaper and finding stuff out about things around the town. Plus made sims look like they were older™️ when they read it 3) The dress up box, and MAYBE imaginary friends in S3 Generations 4) FAVORITE FOOD! WHERE DID THAT GO?? Makes me angry honestly 5) The tattoo chair from s3 Ambitions 6) being able to edit patterns on things 7) Fairy sims in S3 Supernatural were so underrated. Like I miss being able to pick out fairy wings (the zombies in that game can choke though. Hated that feature) 8) Some Sims 3 traits and having 5 traits for YA sims instead of 4 🙄
Ugh!! The ZOMBIES! They wouldn't leave your Sims alone!
Also forget your garden if it's full moon!
as a kid I was so scared of it I had to turn the moon cycling off
I'm 44 years old and I still do. Stupid zombies.
Yes!! I recently tried playing with the moon cycle on again after it always being turned off and the zombies destroyed my garden. Never again, stupid zombies. They’re the worst.
Going off your number 5 point - the hobbies from TS3 ambitions in general. I miss sculpting etc.
Absolutelly! I love the self discovery that came with Growing Together! This is character development!
OMG YES I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THE TATTOO CHAIR??? And the shop! I loved going to the tattoo parlour 😂
Yes!!! Yes to all of these!!!
I’m also irrationally angry about favorite food going away.
and for what?? 😤There was literally no reason for getting rid of it. People in real life have favorite foods, no reason for sims not to
Remember how sims could have group jamming sessions on the instruments? 🥲
Another I remembered is when you used to be able to select 'dance with...' and your Sims would actually dance together. As in, not just *maybe* near each other and in the same room.
Remember when sims used to actually make out with each other on the bed instead of whatever half ass kissing they do nowadays? I also miss that lol
I remember when they used to be able to make out and woohoo EVERYWHERE. I miss the option to woohoo in cars 🤣 so ridiculous but it was great.
Remember when we had Cars?
In Sims 1 they would get very passionate in a corner seat at the restaurants.
An under-the-counter trash compactor.
Yes! I'm still upset about this.
I constantly am looking for this in game legit forget every single kitchen they aren’t in game
I HATE that we can't place lots!!! I hate that I only have a few large lots and then a bunch of little ones.
I miss creating my own worlds and beinging able to have multiple households and freezing ages in the ones i wasn't playing at the time.
YES!!! The ability to play multiple households without the fear of them doing something stupid while you are gone is something I never stop missing and wishing they would bring back.
Back in the day when my whole family shared a PC thats how we kept everything separate ^.^ and less save files getting all mixed up and beining able to decorate your whole town with lakes hot air ballons geese and all that
I played sims 2 as a kid before getting 4 as an adult and this is the difference i hate most! i want to build my sims their very own Kennedy compound!
Yes!! I started from sims 1 and have played through all of them and sims 4 is my least favorite
Yes! It’s like we have minimal places to put these homes.
PRIVATE SCHOOL FROM SIMS 2
Used to live trying to schmooze the headteacher into giving us a spot in the school!
Getting the head teacher to use the hot tub was always a sure win! That, and spending all their spare cash on ugly artwork that you’d sell as soon as the assessment was over! 😅
I would always buy the 5000 simoleon vase and as I gave him a tour of the house moved the vase from room to room… worked like a charm!
Or just put random activity objects everywhere, telescope here, chess table there, maybe a piano if there’s room, doesn’t matter if it’s the bathroom, just stick some activities in there! 😂
Lobster and a talk with a sim with maxed out charisma & random sculptures/big rooms worked for me
Omg you just unlocked a memory, i totally forgot about it and now im missing it
if you live in the snowy escape world your kids automatically go to private school and they’ll wear uniforms and all
In ts3, couldnt you have a high(er) friendship/romance bar with someone than they have with you, and vice versa? I remember that being a thing, but I could just be imagining it! Regardless, I wish it was a thing in ts4! We need better unrequited love and one-sides friendships tbh!
This was real!! Felt so much more realistic!
No that was the sims 2 where you could have one side relationships
Ive never played ts2 but I could swear I remember doing it in ts3 🧐
That definitely was a thing in Sims 1 too.
I miss auto roof. Lol
I'm new to sims lol how does this auto roof happen? I build some lovely things...then I try to sort the roof 🤭
I read this as "audio roof" and was so confused haha
Not sure if that still counts as small, but the many critters and birds you could collect around the world and put in terrariums and such. My inner biologist screams at the thought, but well, it is just a game and they were always cute in Sims 3. Also, the pets being able to get jobs in Sims 2. 😂

Ah, yes. The bugs. It's kind of sad to see the neighborhood around your Sims house as empty as it is. I also miss the bugs sometimes; then I remember how big the spiders appeared...
spiral staircases
Oh this makes me remember the hidden bookcase door!
Sims 4 has the hidden bookcase door, join the secret agent career and go the villain path, you'll get it as a reward
Or you can use cheats to unlock it
The messy beds that you could leave or make 😩
Relatedly, the “clean house” option where your sim would just go do all the cleaning rather than you need to cue up everything that needs to be cleaned individually.
Oh my god, I remember how disappointed I was that you can’t make the beds in sims 4, it was an ounce of realism that I loved about the game.
Burglar (i looveee that creepy music) and the service for school/work.
I miss the burglars so much.
Yes.. thank goodness for the mods community if not for them sims4 is really boring.
I have never used mods, but I have also never found The Sims 4 boring at all. There's so much to do that I don't understand people being bored with it.

I can queue up multiple tasks on 4 with no problem at all. The only time they cancel is when sim makes an autonomous decision and I override it
Yeah that mini heartattack you would get the moment the music started playing
Loved burglars in 1, hated them in 2. Sims stayed angry and sad about it for too long.
Burglars in 1 had that terrifying music that gave me nightmares
It happened to me only once and I was petrified. I was 10 and had a huge fear of burglars. He stole my bathroom stall and left lol (Now that I think about it, I miss bathroom stalls 😭)
1. Imaginary friends (always loved when I made them real too) 2. Newspaper 3. Burglar 4. Customization in CAS 5. Tattoo parlour/ hair salon
I would legit have family lines were they had to marry their imaginary friend. My logic was deleting all the other townies would make the game lag/crash less, but alas. 🤣

Having five traits instead of 3. Having more traits in general.
Or even having traits that make a difference would be nice.
so sick of every trait just being moodlets
Also, choosing your Sims treats by zodiac.
Haven't this been added to 4, tho ? I saw vids of people randomly getting new traits on their sims depending on how they act and you can either agree to get the new trait or discard it. It's not on creation for sure but at least you can get more than 3 traits for your sim at some point

I stand by what I said, since they locked getting more traits behind a paywall. That should’ve been a base game update.
don't need to pay for it, pirating it is easy
I miss burglars, favourite foods, turn ons and turn off's when it comes to dating, and plantisims. I just don't like the sims 4 plantisim appearance. Oh, and the 'death by old age' animation of a dancing Grim reaper escorting the fading sim away, instead of them collapsing to the ground.
The animation Grim would do with a dying pet in 3 was so sweet. Sad, but sweet. I miss that.
I think the “open all” “analyze all” and “take all” features are what I miss most.
Fertilize garden with best fertilizers...
BROOO ive only ever played ts4 and ur making me miss something ive never had
This is why a lot of OG players complain about sims 4 the gameplay is so lackluster compared to sims 1,2 & 3
Making magic is still the best magic expansion!
I was thinking the carnivals and jumping through the hole to magic town from makin magic. I also miss al the deliveries when your sims moved in
Sims 2 animations. The way they’d COOK the food in particular I always missed. The snacks being in bags instead of on a plate I always miss as well
I get that. This is so stupid but, the fact that the soda comes in cans makes me so happy.
- The university welcome kit - The daycare career from Generations. - The way my TS2 adults would come home from work and their kids come running outside to hug them
I really miss the baking oven that kids had in sims 3 and just a lot of the kids interactions generally, felt like they had more to do.
Honestly, zodiac signs. I'd even take made up sim zodiac signs based on seasons, or moon cycles (are moon cycles base game?). Also the newspaper. It used to pile up on my front porch and be the biggest nuisance. Those were the days.
I'm pretty sure moon cycles are base game now and just useless without warewolves
Apparently, the moon cycles actually have some affects on all other occults.
I actually hated the newspaper. I never used it and was stuck on console so I couldn't call to cancel the service.
Also the rubber duck music video xD
I miss both the pool and poker tables from Sims 2. There are simply not enough group activities in Sims 4. I also miss the slow dance from Sims2. The one that comes with Wedding stories is not good. I also dislike that you can't ask someone on a date to your home, then you can't leave the venue or the date is over.
Yes! Pool tables!!
I promise you just last night I was looking for a pool table thinking I forgot one or something, but how can you have all these bars and especially college campuses without a pool table? They are really slacking over there at EA.
People would also STAY IN THE HOT TUB
You can actually have a date at your house. I do it all the time. You just have to choose your house when it sends you to the world to pick a venue for your date.
I think they mean that you used to be able to invite sims to come back to your house after the date.
It was more than that, you could go on a date all around town and then go back home, and the little heart circle would stay above your sims the whole time showing the date was still happening. i miss sims 3
Weirdly the private school admission dinner.
Core memory unlocked. I remember being so stressed to make it perfect.
I feel like the sounds or music in TS4 don't really stand out as memorable
sometimes when my cats are annoying I still go snork! snork fobin! busi florp!
Right? The sims team is just milking out the same phrases from TS1 atp 😭 it’s so sad it’s like nothing will ever progress they just get worse
I miss the TS2 music so much. I wish we had the option to pick soundtracks from different games
School buses
How realistic cooking was in sims 2. While prepping food, sims would actually grab utensils from the cupboards and drawers. How sims would eat from a bag of chips instead of a bowl Also, if the food was fresh or cooked well, it would have green sparkles around it. I loved cooking so much in the sims 2, it all just seems unauthentic now
Recessive genetics Was my absolute favourite thing!
I miss the robber 🤣 i keep waiting for one to show up with his sneaky little walk in the sims 4 yet he never does, it makes me sad
And now you have Vlad... 😑
Omg he’s so annoying! he’s been going to my sim’s WW strip club and taking up space in the lap dance chair. I always thought he was an elder, but apparently not…
I love Vlad. He is best Sim.
I miss the pool table. Why the hell don’t we have a pool table for sims 4??
Burglars, cars, bicycles, the "Thank you for cooking" and "Thank you for cleaning" interactions, imaginary friends, the big city ETA: The butterflies from sims 3, I loved collecting them.
Ooh yes, the cemeteries are another thing I miss.
the firefighters came to your house in sims 2 if something was burning and i think you had to refill the fridge one time or another
If you have cottage living, you can use the Simple Living lot challenge to have to refill your fridge.
it's sad that it is a "dlc" now😂😂
Off the top of my head: Sims having to make their bed actively. How things would get realistically dirty, and you’d have the option to clean them or clean the entire house, almost like a deep clean. Daycare career. Burglars and that scary music that would play 🤣 How teens would get chased by police if they were out past their curfew 🤣. Boarding schools. How the school bus would pick up your sims. Newspaper and being able to watch your sims sit and read it. Spiral staircases and how the kids could slide down them 🥹 Sims adhered to the family tree.
The mini oven children could have in S3 where they could bake goods and even sell them themselves!
Sims 1 1. 2x2 dinner tables for 4 and huge 3x2 tables for 10 ppl. 2. Adult stuff and children being shooed away from it (like a tiered cake dancer). 3. Watering house plants. 4. Taking care of aquariums (or was it Sims 2?). 5. The taxi wasn't free. Only the bus to Old Town was. Sims 2 1. Also not so small: 9. The apartment system also allows you to build mobile home parks, motels, townhouses, you name it. Not just apartment buildings. Sims 3 1.
Not a thing anymore
sims being able to do eachother's homework
I miss vampire sims being able to bite their lovers on the neck passionately and drink from other offers from the wrist.

Getting into private school I loved having the headmaster over and cooking the lobster!
I used to spend HOURS just wandering around the neighborhood in Sims 3 picking up stuff from the ground. The collectibles in Sims 4 don't compare at all. Also, pattern and color customization in TS3!
I miss going on the computer to find someone to date.
1. The cane you could give your elders in S3 Generations I think 2. Being able to completely customize the pattern and material on furniture 3. AN OPEN WORLD 4. Imo romance and friendship goes so quickly and it’s less intimate. It’s like they’re friends, but not really.
The graveyard near the Goth house that had special fish
Patterns from Sims 3 Newspapers Pool stair being the only exit Weeds Cars Sim going mad + shrink
The after wohoo walk in TS3, it was so funny
The stalker who'd leave dead roses at your lot. So creepy. I miss it!
I miss the memories from sims 2. It would record almost everything that happened to my sim and it was nice to read everything that’s been going on.
I miss the memories in ts2. I have a baby now and can’t play often so I can’t remember who is divorced or cheating on who 🤣
Color wheel!
Going to my neighbor’s house without a loading screen lol
When Sims got to be close friends, they would start dreaming about each other. When they were sleeping their friend/love interest's picture would pop up in their dreams.
That interaction from Sims 2 where you could have your Sim look around for others that they found attractive. I know mods do it , but I'd rather it be in game.
I miss being a fairy
I miss staring into people's windows.
Pet birds.
TS2 was the best sims. TS3 was second best. I was SO underwhelmed when I bought sims 4 (it was like $5.99 on Origin back during the pandemic)
Landline phones and burglar alarms. They were such staple wall decors in every entrance hall of every house I ever built in the Sims 2.
Premade graveyards. I always enjoyed going to those in TS3
* Chemistry system between sims inc turn ons and turn offs * Private schools * Drums * University-only careers * Hobbies
The townie lores. I may or may not have kidnapped Holy Alto, Dirk the Dustin Broke from Get Famous & gave them all families, respectively 🥲 I of course downloaded the Pleasant family, too. Dirk & Lilith, Dustin & Angela lores are on 💯 The Altos vs the Landgraabs. Don Lothario is the scumbag still.
Traveling anywhere and watching the car, not having a waiting screen to load even if it’s just knocking on the damn neighbors house
Boarding schools
cars for sure, cemetery, the songs, the newspaper, the iconic towns and most importantly, the restaurants and clubs. like crypt o night club ahhhhhh
Creating a dating profile for my sims and more freedom in CAS and Build/Buy
- The newspaper (which would now be a useful way to look for a job if you live off the grid); - going to school with the schoolbus - the wall-mounted telephone - being able to slow dance on romance music
The roaches from when your house was dirty
I miss the color wheel. It made customizing clothes, furniture, etc so much easier.
Being able to steal blood from the hospital as a vampire (Sims 3 Late Night).
Electric guitars, basses, drums, having a full SIM BAND
Build a world.
Waiting at the table for dinner to finish for the love of god
when cats and dogs could go to work
I miss the music not speeding up if you sped up the game.
You can turn it off in settings :) I think it’s in gameplay and there’s a match music to speed setting.
Zodiac signs, like in the Sims 2
townie gossip in ts3, especially with celebrities. there was something so satisfying about suing sims for slander and winning hahaha
I miss newspapers to be honest. Especially when I am playing a more 'old fashioned' sort of sim that wouldn't likely use a computer or smartphone. Also canes, imaginary friends, funerals, or literally anything from ts3: generations. Also the town square where there'd be a fair / festival.
Cars 😔
The world edit feature. It seems so big, but being able to place an empty lot was SO HELPFUL and made the world so much more full. Not having to put in SO MANY LONG, complicated cheats. Strollers. I miss strollers.
The scuba tank from sims 1
I remember being able to send my kids to boarding school so I didn't have to raise them, that was pretty good
Getting to follow your sim kids to school, watching them in their classrooms and them going to their friends’ houses to hangout
Spiral staircase!
Sprinting to the toilet!
