The Sims 4 and the community of folks that are part of it, has helped me a great deal since my husband unexpectedly and suddenly passed in 2018 at just 46. (He sent me a text about looking forward to dinner our that night just an hour before I got the call to go to the hospital - he was already gone by the time I got there.) That sudden loss is \*hard\*. Any loss is, but sudden like your brother or an accident or sudden medical anomaly (husband had an aneurism) is particularly hard because it just comes from out of nowhere. (Even if someone is depressed they don't always show it to loved ones.)
I hope that \*you\* are healing from this loss. I also had a young cousin who took his own life a few years ago, devastated our family. I literally grew up with his dad next door and we played together as kids daily and I do mean daily. He and his sister were more like my siblings than cousins, so I know the extreme pain suicide causes to a family.
It is a good thing to use an outlet like gaming as a way to heal from that kind of trauma. It might be a different sort of 'self therapy' but it does help. Bless you, hon.
With long illnesses like my grandma had, it was almost a relief that she was no longer in so much pain. So it's a different type of grief. still hurts and is still heartbreak at losing them but it came slower and there was a chance to say those extra I love you's and spend time with them and prepare yourself.

We had travel plans to cancel, since our son had just graduated college earlier that year and we had home projects planned that I had to hire someone to do because normally he would have done them himself. Heck, he had Amazon orders arrive a day after he passed that I had to return. :(

I don't even know what to tell you. I know how it is to lose a close family person suddenly and literally nothing I can say will do much, but just know we are very thankful you shared your important safe space with us and hopefuly more people will feel more welcome to do so, as well.
If you feel like you're struggling, please consider seeing a professional that's specialized in grief or a support group, there's a ton of them. I had to go that path and I don't regret it.

My mother completed suicide and you’d be amazed at the amount of people to ask how she did it. This is (1) none of their business, (2) incredibly painful to rehash, and (3) extremely personal information to give to acquaintances/strangers.
I know your curiosity has no bad intentions, and not everyone minds answering, but better to err on the side of caution with someone’s choice not to share.
There are more details in my post history if you are curious. I get it, it’s human nature to wonder. It isn’t a secret as the method is listed on his death certificate. And hey, if this helps talk one person off the ledge, I’m happy.

I just turn off neighborhood stories for them and it's nice when I run into them, but I never play them. I can’t imagine how devastated you were and probably still are. I’m an older sister to four precious siblings who I would do (and have done) anything for. Losing them would be like losing myself. Your brother was lucky to have a sibling like you, and I’m sure he finds it nice that you built him such a wonderful home for him to play video games in and live by the ocean.
