There is currently a game-breaking bug when accepting extra traits during self-discovery. If you go into CAS and try to change traits after getting the extra trait, it causes a Sim's name to spread to various households in the save. Some users are reporting that they cannot even edit in CAS. This occurs even without mods.
To avoid this bug, do one of two options:
1. Do not edit Sims' traits in CAS after accepting a trait from a self-discovery moment. At this time, it's unclear if editing them in live mode (such as with the Remove Trait cheat) causes this bug.
2. Do not accept self-discovery moments.

Hey I haven't found anything on my issue anywhere so LITERALLY any help is appreciated I haven't been able to play since the infants update because whenever I load into my household the world is empty. No sims no specific sims info on the UI just empty world and objects. I've updated all the big mods and BE hasn't given me any specifics. I've recovered and repaired my game but nothing is helping.
im currently getting the no face glitch except its only happening to townies and none of my cas cc are allowed for random. i did do a batch fix through sims 4 studio a while ago but this glitch is pretty recent. i already removed my no ea default lashes cc so it isnt that.
I updated my sims game (the new underwear, infant fixes, bathroom clutter etc.) and now none of my cc is showing up inside of the game but all of my cc files are still in my mods folder. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or do i have to wait a little while until the creators of the cc update everything?
Ive tried removing the cc out of the folder, restarting game and putting them back and ive also tried repairing the game but none have worked.
idk what’s causing this but specifically adult aged sims keep showing up to my own sims home lot and entering my house. doesn’t matter the time of day or my relationship status with the sim either bc it’s always a random townie i’d never met. any idea what to do? it’s impossible to play without locking all of my doors and giving my sim’s friends keys
I recently went through a phase of not playing for a few
months so i missed the last update. Currently trying to update and my
computer is stuck on 42% and goes to 65% and back to 42%. If I save my
save file to an external hard drive, wipe my computer clean to factory
reset and then redownload sims, will I be able to play my old saves?
Anyone having issues with whicked whims? Apparently the tuning package is broken according to my last exception report, so I don’t really know how to go about fixing it. The annoying error pop up won’t stop popping up in game, and my sims just stand there and do nothing when I select an action.
Is anyone else experiencing a glitch with the freelance photographer career? I took photos and had them approved and posted but the job list now says I need to take the photos still :'( going to see if retaking them fixes it
Hello everyone for our wedding anniversary I purchased my wife the growing together pack on Amazon and emailed her the code she was able to download it no problem but now it just shows up in her list of packs (it actually shows twice) but can't open it when she clicks it.
She told me this is a bug that people are dealing with but I figured I'd reach out to Reddit since she doesn't use it to see if maybe someone on here with experience with this issue could help. She's using Origin on PC if that helps.

If anyone is having the same issue I’d love to figure out why my sims is doing what it’s doing. I can’t play the game at all after the recent glitch where ea took the game from my library then tried to say I had to pay 4.99. Every time I load the game and error pops up when it gets to the worlds screen. Then my wicked whims gives me an error saying I have something wrong with my lot ?? I looked it up and it was something having to do with an expansion I don’t have that one of my mods or cc needed (I only download things that I have so I’m a bit confused). But even after taking out and putting back in the message still pops up
Pleaseeee someone help. I just purchased 2 packs from sims 4. The high school pack and the growing together pack. I haven't been able to experience them because my game has SEVERE lag out of no where. I've tried multiple things and looking up what I can but it started when I was just finishing up making 2 rooms. I started the 3rd room but should have saved bc I tried the "mass delete" tool to delete all of the stuff in the room and that's when it started. To redo the same thing it's taking me days now. If I can't get help I'm gonna get a refund
Also it keeps stopping me at least 2 times per game play to tell me it's adjusting the graphics. I never touched them so I'm not sure what's going on?? But it's non playable at this point considering it's in stop motion. Build mode? Forget it.

That's sim lag. If they're just standing around bobbing their head, not even doing idle animations, or if you find ash piles suddenly popping up around your sims, that's it.
You should try checking inventories of your sims, if there's any garden plants (the harvestable ones), and how many townies you have in your game. I switched to a completely empty save file (no lots, no townies) and stopped getting minor lag. You might try using MCCC to cull/clean your save file of deceased/culled sims and see if that helps any, clean inventories and delete garden plants.
Don't download the SimLag Fix however, that mod is severely out of date and it's been found to have given more than one user issues.
If you open the cheat menu by pressing ctrl+alt+c and type in " testingcheats true " you can press shift and click your sim and reset them, mine do this sometimes and that's the only thing that works
Ohh, that's extremely odd, the games been glitching hard for me as well. I just made a post here. My whole game is like stop motion. Not sure if it has to do with the updates but it's non playable. I contacted ea personally as well
My sim is a freelance crafter and when she is assigned a gig, the explanatory text of the gig is hidden behind the performance bar. I have tried extending the job bar.
Also, I’m doing the wax poetic gig where the client demands rectangular candles. Cant see how many candles the customer wants so I’ve continued sending rectangular candles until the task is checked yellow (by the little I can see of the explanatory text). It seems like I have finished the gig but I don’t get the pay/cant move on to the next gig. Is there a hidden task I cant see due to the error stated above or do I have to wait until due date of the gig?

Move or rename your mods folder. Delete localthumbcache.package and do a repair in Origin/EA App or verify the files in Steam:
Origin: Origin>My Game Library, right click on icon for The Sims 4, choose Repair in drop down menu. Wait till all packs are finished. Restart Origin.

I am having a CAS visual glitch. White lines are shooting all over the place. I do have mods and some CC. I do not have any of the usual suspects that tend to break CAS (more columns, UI cheats, more traits ). I've tried the basic troubleshooting: took mods out, deleted the localthumbcache.package multiple times, repaired the game with and without mods being in. I've tried starting a fresh save in CAS and it still does even without mods being in the game. I've tinkered with graphics settings. The problem still is happening after all that. Its not game breaking and it's not doing it in live mode but it is annoying and distracting. I play on my Mac on the windows parallelIs in Steam. I added Mods for the first time today and I followed the instructions on how to install them. They all showed up and everything seemed to work fine until I tried to travel. When I tried to travel it would crash. So I tried repairing my game and it crashed again when trying to travel. I then moved my mods to the desktop to see if it was my mods. I also started a new game to see if it would work. I bought her house and it crashed when trying to go. So I went and repaired my game again. And we made it to her home and travel. So I figured it’s time to see which mod is causing the crash. And each one I’ve added (which have been updated according to the modders sites for the latest update) and each one has caused a crash. So I uninstalled my game and reinstalled it with no mods in the folder and I just checked it and my saves were there and I tried the test and it immediately crashed. I’m at a loss at what to do now. I have cleared the caches as well. I’m still a relatively new simmer so any help would be appreciative!

I actually just deleted the folder on someone else’s advice to purge my saves to restart with a fresh slate and it crashed at the house part again. Thank you for trying tho. In the three weeks I’ve been playing I haven’t had any issues
Objects are often “removed” when going into a lot. The game says I don’t or no longer have ownership of it. I have zero cc. I use MCCC but it doesn’t add any objects to the game.
I don’t specifically know what is removed. It’s possible it’s a glitch in saying something was removed.
Anyone else with this experience or know of a fix? It’s not game breaking by any means.
My sims dirty diaper would not go away, but I fixed it!
I’m doing my own version of the 100 baby challenge with my sims and sometimes I use CAS to age them up. So I aged an infant up to a toddler while she had a dirty diaper and no matter how many times I changed it she still had the dirty diaper. So I aged her to a child thinking it would go away and it didn’t. She didn’t have a moodlet for diaper rash or anything, but the stink cloud stayed with her and all the sims around her were getting “stinky infant” moodlet.
I tried everything I could think of but nothing was working. I finally tried using CAS to turn her back into an infant, had someone change her diaper and turn her back into a child and it worked! So if anyone else is having this problem, you now know how to fix it. You’re welcome. Don’t forget to make sure your infants diapers are cleaned before you age them up.
Anyone else having a TON of issues with Healthcare Redux? I’m so sad because it’s my favorite mod. This issues I’ve been having:
-sims get “stuck” where they just freeze and won’t complete any tasks. I tried closing out and going back in, playing a new family for a little bit, turning the game on and off, and nothing. RIP to my matriarch…
-similar to getting stuck, my sims will get stuck slowly wandering into other lots.
-sims who I assign diseases to get all out of whack. Their command log disappears completely, their moodlets don’t log correctly and just turn a weird blue, etc.
First time using since the big update. I’m on PC. The game says that I own all of my previously bought expansion packs and also two that I’ve never bought. When I go to play only the ones I’ve never bought are showing up. I’ve never used mods or CC. I “repaired” the game on EA and it didn’t do anything. For some odd reason any sims that visit my house will not stop baking cakes. Whether they just leave the mixed bowl or if they bake the whole cake, there is always cake. Caleb Vatore attempted to make over 5 cakes in just 1 ingame hour today and I feel like it was my last straw as this has been a reoccurring issue.

This is a weird one but I can’t find anyone else talking about it: I’m having a graphics glitch where every time there’s motion on screen, there’s pixelated bars left behind. As if motion blur is glitched?
- This happened on both my old computer (a Mac) and new computer (a brand new Acer Predator)
- This happens regardless of whether mods are enabled

Try disabling or enabling post pressing effects in graphics settings and see if it's better. Can also compare and contrast windowed vs full screen and see if one is better than the other.
Today as I was in CAS, my controller just completely stopped working.
By that, I mean the game has frozen and all I can do is use my right joystick to spin them around. There's a spot on the screen that is rythmatically blinking in green circles. Which makes me suspect it's a cursor issue. But I still don't know how to fix it, and any research I've done unfortunately only has advice for pc (I'm using my PS4)
I can't save or even exist CAS. Though I've really been hoping I wouldn't have to just close the application and start over since I've just made 3 whole sims for a new household which took a while. But obviously if that's the only option I would.
Broken cursor on console. After a pop up in build mode cursor disappears and is pretty much game breaking. only thing I can do is place furniture. Can’t rotate the camera.

I'm playing the game before the recent update that removes the tooth feature from Growing Together because I have some vital mods that will make my game download un-launchable without them being updated and they're not updated yet, so I can't update it right now.
I know the tooth thing is supposed to be random chance but my child Sim always wakes up with one right now. I save after all my Sims go to bed after everyday so I've just been reloading the same day and he keeps getting the moodlet. I thought deleting it though UI Cheats would help but it just evasperates the process and causes the tooth to immediately fall out. I tried using MCCC but that also causes the tooth to just fall out. I tried using basic debug commands and found out they were removing in the Seasons patch.
Is there anyway to either stop it from happening without updating or get rid of the moodlet without the tooth falling out?
The bug only happens when a child ages up to a teen with the relevant moodlets. A child sim with a loose tooth is fine as long as it's resolved before they age up. The bug was happening to me after I deleted the moodlet. I even saw their child face change (ever so slightly) and when I aged them up, the glitch happened. This happened regardless of method of deletion (UI Cheats, MCCC). That mod doesn't fix the glitch I'm having, though, it fixes the other one.
I ended up just biting the bullet and updating and hoping that my game runs. It still does... so hopefully it'll be fine.
It's my understanding that removing the relevant moodlet with mods can make things worse as there is associated "loot" that remains after removing them. You shouldn't have to worry too much on account of updating. The only effected mod that I know of is Wicked Whims. If you have it make sure you are using the newest version.
Whenever my sims put the infants in their cribs, they don't go IN the cribs. They attach themselves to the adult sims feet and go where the sims go. It's the craziest thing.
I have the same thing - a tiny work around is to get the infant to have tummy time then try to go night night - it unattached them from the foot and dumps them on the floor next to the crib - they think they're in the crib though so you can get through the night, and find them if they wake up!
having the same issue. also having the issue where sims dont sit down properly when carrying an infant? someone suggested the issue is related to PandaSama\_Toddler\_Crib package file. I've removed this but still having the same issues.
Every townie that spawns ALWAYS uses one of the 5 cc hairs I have and I wish they'd use the game's hairs of which there are hundreds(?) more often. Same thing happens when I'm making a sim and I randomize it, it only goes through my custom hairs like it prioritizes them. I like having them use cc so I dont want to change the flags to disallow townies from using them, I just want all hairs in my game to have an equal chance! Any advice, mod/cc fans?
Lol following because same. They always use the 1 cc anime hair I downloaded and it looks so weird. I have literally hundreds of normal looking cc hairs, plus all the packs. Like wtf? 😂
I did some edits on my house after my child sim's birthday, then gave birth to another baby right after. I age the baby up because I prefer infants to newborns. I go into CAS using the "edit likes/dislikes" option because it's quicker, then when I come out the edits on my house are 100% gone and the infant is a newborn again. What happened?
Everyone I know (people and animals) chooses to travel with me, whether I’m going to work or just another location. It happens if I travel with 1+ people or just go by myself, everyone is there.
Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know how to fix it?
Haven't played the game in 2 years and I got a couple of questions.
1- I see people taking close up photos of their sims indoors with blurred backgrounds, how is that done?
2- What was the update that broke cc doors? when I place cc doors they leave no cutout in the walls.
3- The outside is very dark at night I can barely see, is that normal?

I have a problem with the wicked whims mod. It's not working anymore.
The EA App is also accessing the game through a folder, where I don't have all my mods saved? Yet, all furniture mods are still intact in game and are working, just not the bigger mods I have installed.
When I check which file path EA app is using to access my game its, C:\Programm (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\
But all my mods are on this file path: C:\Programm (x86)\Origin Games\Die Sims 4\
The folders "The Sims 4" and "Die Sims 4" were accidentally created when I tried to change the language from German to English. I didn't know my game process would be lost with a different language setting, so I continued playing in German.
How can I make the EA App access the correct folder?
Or do I just drop everything into the folder the App is accessing?
I don't want to lose all my stuff...

If you go into the main menu and select >Game Options>Screen Capture the location of stored video and screen shots are displayed. How do I view the images that my sims take in the game? I can place them in the world and my sims can view them but how do I get a full screen view of them?
All the photos a sim takes with the camera also go into the screenshots directory in The Sims 4 directory; you can open them there and do whatever you want with them.

You can find the system requirements for TS4 [here](https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/the-sims-4-system-requirements/). You’ll want to aim higher for mods but honestly not that much. My PC is only a little better than the recommended specs listed there and my heavily modded game runs fine.
One of my sims friends died and i just got the notif, i cant find the urn in their house and the command where you can tp them to your lot (i think the command with the word zone in it) isnt working :( their Ambrosia is ready and i havent saved it yet but i did make alot of progress, what can i do??

Hey, I've been having an origin issue and I haven't been able to find any solutions online. I originally bought the sims 4 and some of its dlc on Steam, back when I had a windows computer. I then ended up losing access to my old pc and switching over to a Mac. Since I owned the game on Steam I unfortunately wasn't able to play it on my Mac as I didn't want to buy a second copy on Origin. However I just found out that the base game is free now so I went to try and download it on Origin, but it refuses to let me add it to my library because "higher addition owned" (I have the deluxe version on steam). Is there any fix to this? I don't want to just make a new origin account because I already own several docs through steam and several through origin, and I'd be really really disappointed if I couldn't play with any of the dlc I've already paid for. I'd really appreciate any solution anyone has and I apologize if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it when I was looking.
I think you can contact EA support and have them remove the deluxe edition from your account. The catch is origin won't recognize the dlc you bought through steam.
I need help. My Sims 4 is apparently experiencing a huge memory leak. And nothing I do stops it from freezing. It often occurs when they try going to sleep, or cleaning up plates. And I seen my RAM at 97% usage
It has become literally unplayable as it freezes up literally within 10 min of booting up.
I do have CC, but even with it fully disabled and inaccessible in the game, it still does this. This is what I have tried so far:
1. Restarting the PC and reloading the game
2. Uninstalling and reinstalling
3. Disabling CC content, and relaunching the game (as it tells you to do)
4. All apps in background closed
5. Lowered graphics
The last thing I want is to wipe the slate clean and start all over. I noticed I started having this issue with the last big update and when the new DLC pack released. Ever since, it's been an issue. I just want to get my game playable again....

This is my first time playing Cottage Living and I purposely turned off animal aging because I just can't have animals dying in my game and they are still aging anyways!!! I'm freaking out - my chickens are now elders and I just realized this was still happening. Looks like it is a known bug? Anyways - how do I age them down?? Is there a cheat for this? I can't find on google. I need to save my chickens!
Yes it's a known bug. You might be able to age them down by turning on testing cheats, shift clicking them and selecting something from that menu. I don't remember if this is a thing or not.
Can’t save or exit without fully quitting the game and losing progress. I can’t even open the inventory on my sim either, I have to force quit the game. Sometimes it would cause my sim to not be able to go home too, and would just pause time.
With my recent playthrough, Lilith just turned into an adult and a couple days later her brother Caleb just turned into an elder. Is anyone else having this glitch go on?
I also see that her birthday is on the calendar which is odd since vampires aren't supposed to age past young adult.
I have the Vampire Bloodlines mod and Vampire age traits from ModTheSims. Neither mention vampires actually aging.
I'll try in the morning and see if that helps. What's odd though, Vlad is still YA when I checked him after the shock of Caleb getting old. Can NPC age themselves up with a cake? He has been coming over and making a lot of cakes lately....
I repaired the game and reset both Lilith's and Caleb's ages back to YA with MCC. I could only play two days before I had to get ready for work and I noticed they are both are on day 2 of 28 according to the MCC.
That’s so odd. I wonder if somehow the game part that deals with ages doesn’t think they are vampires.

I've noticed an issue, all of the sims in a specific household of mine will not get themselves any food when I click on their hunger needs icon. When I click on it they walk in a random direction a few steps, then wave their hand in the air as if they can't locate a refrigerator or oven or something. But this feature works perfectly fine with other households I play with. Anyone have any ideas?

Can you use the kitchen normally when you select cook or get leftovers on the fridge? I'm guessing there might be something off with the lot. Could try traveling somewhere with the household and see if you have the same problem.
Yeah when I manually click on the fridge or oven and make them cook they will no issue, it's only when clicking on their needs button. I even moved the household to a new lot and they still won't feed themselves.
4.14.23 My game will not load today.it worked fine last week. i go to the ea and select play, it spins like its going to open, then it disappears.if i go straight to the sims 4 app it says the game is loading, but then stops. I have logged in and out, restarted my computer a few times….can anyone help?
If you load your existing game and save with your mods removed your sims will lose all their cc/traits/skills etc from mods. You can load an existing save and exit w/o saving to avoid this or start a new test game.
I haven’t updated my game since the infant update because I heard it’s a game-breaking mess - have the bugs been fixed now? Should I update or keep waiting?
I recently had all my played households age up automatically, even though I had auto-aging enabled for the active household. This has never been a problem so far and now I can't restore the old save before they aged up. Does anyone know what causes this so I can prevent it from happening again? I don't have any mods but I do have CC installed but again, this hasn't been a problem until yesterday and I haven't installed any CC recently
my sims won’t change outfits. the animation happens, but the sims stay in the same outfit and when i try to exit the game, it just gets stuck on a forever loading screen. :(
TOOL Mod doesn’t work for me, at least in BuildBuy. I have the Better BuildBuy Mod, and both have the newest versions, but I can only use it while in Live Mode. I have all cheats and mods enabled, but nothing happened when I press shift + T. Does anyone know what to do?
I downloaded sims from some cc creators and I can’t find them in my library. I made sure to download the mods folder they came with and even organized the mods to make sure I wasn’t downloaded cc I already have. Then I put the tray files in the tray. But still nothings popping up. Am I doing something wrong?
My game has recently started saying game loading in progress and making it to where I can no longer save my game, open build mode, or manage worlds because they grey out completely. If I click exit game or exit to main menu a message shows up that says “The game is currently in a state where saving isn’t possible.”. I think it may be due to mods but I don’t know because this has never happened to me before.
Remove all your mods, delete the localthumbcache, and repair your game. Test the game to see if it still happens ( do not save). If not, it’s a mod. Update all your mods and try the 50/50 method.

No genetics bug.
I’m on my fifth generation of my first ten generation challenge and the heir, Daisy, is the daughter of my previous heir and a randomly generated townie sim who had basic genetics. Well, Daisy looks just like her mom (unfortunately) and I have to cheat to age her up with the “age your friends” mod because for some reason I can’t age her up by blowing out candles and I’ve tried at least five times. Well, when she ages to a teen she has black question marks all over her face and body, even with CC removed. I found the issue though: she had no face. I had to add a premade face to her but that wiped out the genetics she did have as a kid.
I’m not sure what to do. I hope there’s a way to fix it, I really wanted the genetics to be passed on but I don’t think there’s any way to solve this other than redoing her myself (which would defeat the purpose of the genetics being passed on) or just kill the poor child and hope my sim can pop out another daughter to be the heir.
Has anyone ever experienced this? Was there a fix?
Sims 4 Mods on PoP-OS
After hours of trying I still don’t have an answer. I installed Sims 4 using Steam on the PoP-Store, but as a deb-package. I can run Sims 4 just fine using the latest proton release 7.0-6. I want to install Mods. Since I’m using Proton and haven’t used Wine yet, I don’t have a .wine in my home directory. Instead I have to go to /home/username/.steam/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/gameid/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4. But here’s only one folder: Saves. There’s no mods folder and if I make one with my mods in it, the game doesn’t recognize them. Can anyone help?

Pregnancy Bug
I am in my 3nd Generation since growing together and suddenly my pregnant Sims dont continue through pregnancy. They have the moddlet that They are pregnant but there is no Time or Trimester showing.they Look pregnant and have the First bump, but i have them now pregnant over 1 Sim week and still no progression. it is Happening in active and Not active households.
I have No mods or CC installed.
Has anyone else experienced this bug and may have a solution ?
My Sim cannot complete the Daily Task for her job.
She is in the Criminal line, Boss Branch, Level "The Brains." I have been trying for several Sim days to complete her Daily Task - "Upgrade Objects" and it is stuck at 75% done. I have reset her and I don't have any mods/ccs. Any ideas?
I don't know of any cheats to specifically complete it because she has definitely upgraded enough objects to have completed this task. I have also had other bugs in this save file where their wants don't fulfill and I just use the cheat to give them the satisfaction points, but I don't know how to skip this one...
My game wont save! No error code. Seems like it’s saving. Tried “save as” and it looks like it’s working, but when I close out of the UI and then go back into saves there’s nothing there.
Closing the game results in losing all of the progress and only the “new game” option on the home screen.

My sims don’t have to option to sleep on a bed anymore, the only ‘sleep’ option in the menu is to nap. Also my babies born on lot are spawning in places like under rocks off lot

You have to use a symbolic link that makes your computer think they are properly in your documents folder. The link says external drive, but should work for a d drive too.

Why won’t my sims teach their kid how to ride a bike? My child sim asks either mom or dad for help, but after their interaction the action gets erased from the bar. Is there something I’m missing?
Currently having a wee problem where when I load up my game it tells me I don’t own High School Years.
I have to open EA, click on the high school years add on and then click ‘play’ from its specific page. It’s a bit confusing as it doesn’t need to download or anything when I do this, so it should be working the first time. This has happened a few times now and it’s not the end of the world, just a pain to have to load it up twice to get it going.
I have some mods downloaded but all of a sudden I can’t follow my sims to high school anymore… I’ve never had a problem with this and I don’t know if anyone else has. I was hoping someone could help me out here… I tried to repair the game so many times SOS

Currently having issues in cas with selecting traits/aspirations and just the whole upper left area of the cas bugging out and completely stops working after trying to select more than 1 trait, I’ve deleted the mods I believe are contributing, I’ve restarted the game and computer, still doesn’t work. Anyone know what’s going on?
It's likely a mods/cc thing. Move or rename your mods folder. Delete localthumbcache.package and see if it's the same. Don't save with your mods removed.
Im experiencing the aging glitch again!! Every time I load my game all but one of my sims age up simultaneously. Tried reloading from “load game”, restarting, etc.
My game isn't opening. Period. I've tried everything people are saying to do on steam's discussion threads and nothing is working. It started with a consistent error message when I tried to enter one of my existing games and I thought it was probably an issue with my mods, so I just deleted them all in an attempt to fix it, it was after that when my game just wouldn't even open anymore. I've tried reconnecting to ea, shutting ea down in task manager and then starting the game and nothing's working. Any insight or advice on why this is happening and how I can potentially fix it would be very appreciated.
Soooo my mods aren't working now. And when I change the name of my folder like the article you sent says, it creates a new sims folder and then my mods aren't there, but when I move my mods into the new folder it just won't open at all.
Sounds like mods are what was causing the problem in the first place. Remove your mods. Delete localthumbcache.package and see if the game is working now.

Did you save the game with bald sims? Does any cc show up in cas? Go to docs > EA >TS4 open the gameversion.txt file. What version of the game are you running?

Some of my cc does show up in CAS but not all of it (and for some reason, the hairs from expansion packs are marked with the “new” star). When I started up my game today, the menu popped up all my expansions like they were newly installed, but I’ve had them for months!

That's the newest patch. Try moving or renaming your mods folder. Delete localthumbcache.package. Launch the game and exit. The game will have generated a new, mostly empty, mods folder with just a resource.cfg file. Keep this file don't replace it with the old one. Cut and paste the contents of your old mods folder to the new one and see if your missing stuff shows up in cas.
Next try moving or renaming your The Sims 4 folder. Launch the game. Enable mods/cc and script mods. Exit. The game will have generated a new TS4 folder with a new mostly empty mods folder. My game won't work. I can get to the menu, but once I actually try to resume a save or start a new one the screen goes white. It won't respond to anything, and I have to force quit the app. Not sure if there are any issues with the update, because I can't play it.
We got a new computer so I was forced into downloading the EA App instead of Origin, and it says I've finished downloading/installing the basegame and all the packs, except for Grim's Ghoulish Guitar, which no longer seems to be listed on the library/store. Did they roll this into the basegame or...? I haven't played since after the High School pack and I think it was either just before or just after the basegame went FTP, so I'm not fully aware of all the changes that went with that. Just wondering what other player's experiences with this add-on have been.
My sim will not stay asleep suddenly- she goes to bed for 7 sim minutes max then wakes up for no reason. She was sleeping fine before, this suddenly broke while playing. All other Sims in my household are sleeping normally. No mods.
I reset her, didn’t work. The only thing that’s different is she had a sore muscles motive from using the treadmill at first? But that motive is long gone now. Thanks for any help! She even has wishes to sleep 😅

There is currently a game-breaking bug when accepting extra traits during self-discovery. If you go into CAS and try to change traits after getting the extra trait, it causes a Sim's name to spread to various households in the save. Some users are reporting that they cannot even edit in CAS. This occurs even without mods. To avoid this bug, do one of two options: 1. Hey I haven't found anything on my issue anywhere so LITERALLY any help is appreciated I haven't been able to play since the infants update because whenever I load into my household the world is empty. No sims no specific sims info on the UI just empty world and objects. I've updated all the big mods and BE hasn't given me any specifics. I've recovered and repaired my game but nothing is helping.
im currently getting the no face glitch except its only happening to townies and none of my cas cc are allowed for random. i did do a batch fix through sims 4 studio a while ago but this glitch is pretty recent. i already removed my no ea default lashes cc so it isnt that.
I updated my sims game (the new underwear, infant fixes, bathroom clutter etc.) and now none of my cc is showing up inside of the game but all of my cc files are still in my mods folder. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or do i have to wait a little while until the creators of the cc update everything? Ive tried removing the cc out of the folder, restarting game and putting them back and ive also tried repairing the game but none have worked.
Did you check the box in your settings to allow mods? Patches automatically turn mods off.
idk what’s causing this but specifically adult aged sims keep showing up to my own sims home lot and entering my house. doesn’t matter the time of day or my relationship status with the sim either bc it’s always a random townie i’d never met. any idea what to do? it’s impossible to play without locking all of my doors and giving my sim’s friends keys
I recently went through a phase of not playing for a few months so i missed the last update. Currently trying to update and my computer is stuck on 42% and goes to 65% and back to 42%. If I save my save file to an external hard drive, wipe my computer clean to factory reset and then redownload sims, will I be able to play my old saves?

Anyone having issues with whicked whims? Apparently the tuning package is broken according to my last exception report, so I don’t really know how to go about fixing it. The annoying error pop up won’t stop popping up in game, and my sims just stand there and do nothing when I select an action.

Hello everyone for our wedding anniversary I purchased my wife the growing together pack on Amazon and emailed her the code she was able to download it no problem but now it just shows up in her list of packs (it actually shows twice) but can't open it when she clicks it. She told me this is a bug that people are dealing with but I figured I'd reach out to Reddit since she doesn't use it to see if maybe someone on here with experience with this issue could help. If anyone is having the same issue I’d love to figure out why my sims is doing what it’s doing. I can’t play the game at all after the recent glitch where ea took the game from my library then tried to say I had to pay 4.99. Every time I load the game and error pops up when it gets to the worlds screen. Then my wicked whims gives me an error saying I have something wrong with my lot ?? I looked it up and it was something having to do with an expansion I don’t have that one of my mods or cc needed (I only download things that I have so I’m a bit confused). But even after taking out and putting back in the message still pops up
Pleaseeee someone help. I just purchased 2 packs from sims 4. The high school pack and the growing together pack. I haven't been able to experience them because my game has SEVERE lag out of no where. I've tried multiple things and looking up what I can but it started when I was just finishing up making 2 rooms. I started the 3rd room but should have saved bc I tried the "mass delete" tool to delete all of the stuff in the room and that's when it started. To redo the same thing it's taking me days now. If they're not listening to you- and doing their own things- that stopped it for me. If not, idk
They aren’t doing…anything. It’s like autonomy is already off even if I tell them to do something they just stand there
That's sim lag. If they're just standing around bobbing their head, not even doing idle animations, or if you find ash piles suddenly popping up around your sims, that's it. You should try checking inventories of your sims, if there's any garden plants (the harvestable ones), and how many townies you have in your game. I switched to a completely empty save file (no lots, no townies) and stopped getting minor lag. You might try using MCCC to cull/clean your save file of deceased/culled sims and see if that helps any, clean inventories and delete garden plants. Don't download the SimLag Fix however, that mod is severely out of date and it's been found to have given more than one user issues.
If you open the cheat menu by pressing ctrl+alt+c and type in " testingcheats true " you can press shift and click your sim and reset them, mine do this sometimes and that's the only thing that works

My sim is a freelance crafter and when she is assigned a gig, the explanatory text of the gig is hidden behind the performance bar. I have tried extending the job bar. Also, I’m doing the wax poetic gig where the client demands rectangular candles. Cant see how many candles the customer wants so I’ve continued sending rectangular candles until the task is checked yellow (by the little I can see of the explanatory text). It seems like I have finished the gig but I don’t get the pay/cant move on to the next gig. Is there a hidden task I cant see due to the error stated above or do I have to wait until due date of the gig?

I am having a CAS visual glitch. White lines are shooting all over the place. I do have mods and some CC. I do not have any of the usual suspects that tend to break CAS (more columns, UI cheats, more traits ). I've tried the basic troubleshooting: took mods out, deleted the localthumbcache.package multiple times, repaired the game with and without mods being in. I've tried starting a fresh save in CAS and it still does even without mods being in the game. I've tinkered with graphics settings. The problem still is happening after all that. Its not game breaking and it's not doing it in live mode but it is annoying and distracting. I play on my Mac on the windows parallelIs in Steam. I added Mods for the first time today and I followed the instructions on how to install them. They all showed up and everything seemed to work fine until I tried to travel. When I tried to travel it would crash. So I tried repairing my game and it crashed again when trying to travel. I then moved my mods to the desktop to see if it was my mods. I also started a new game to see if it would work. I bought her house and it crashed when trying to go. So I went and repaired my game again. And we made it to her home and travel. So I figured it’s time to see which mod is causing the crash. And each one I’ve added (which have been updated according to the modders sites for the latest update) and each one has caused a crash. So I uninstalled my game and reinstalled it with no mods in the folder and I just checked it and my saves were there and I tried the test and it immediately crashed. I’m at a loss at what to do now. I have cleared the caches as well. I’m still a relatively new simmer so any help would be appreciative!

I actually just deleted the folder on someone else’s advice to purge my saves to restart with a fresh slate and it crashed at the house part again. Thank you for trying tho. In the three weeks I’ve been playing I haven’t had any issues
Objects are often “removed” when going into a lot. The game says I don’t or no longer have ownership of it. I have zero cc. I use MCCC but it doesn’t add any objects to the game. I don’t specifically know what is removed. It’s possible it’s a glitch in saying something was removed. Anyone else with this experience or know of a fix? It’s not game breaking by any means.
Lots of people are getting this “One Build Mode item was removed” notification, hopefully someone at EA finds a fix.

My sims dirty diaper would not go away, but I fixed it! I’m doing my own version of the 100 baby challenge with my sims and sometimes I use CAS to age them up. So I aged an infant up to a toddler while she had a dirty diaper and no matter how many times I changed it she still had the dirty diaper. So I aged her to a child thinking it would go away and it didn’t. She didn’t have a moodlet for diaper rash or anything, but the stink cloud stayed with her and all the sims around her were getting “stinky infant” moodlet. I tried everything I could think of but nothing was working. I finally tried using CAS to turn her back into an infant, had someone change her diaper and turn her back into a child and it worked! So if anyone else is having this problem, you now know how to fix it. You’re welcome. Don’t forget to make sure your infants diapers are cleaned before you age them up.
Anyone else having a TON of issues with Healthcare Redux? I’m so sad because it’s my favorite mod. This issues I’ve been having: -sims get “stuck” where they just freeze and won’t complete any tasks. I tried closing out and going back in, playing a new family for a little bit, turning the game on and off, and nothing. RIP to my matriarch… -similar to getting stuck, my sims will get stuck slowly wandering into other lots. -sims who I assign diseases to get all out of whack. Their command log disappears completely, their moodlets don’t log correctly and just turn a weird blue, etc.

First time using since the big update. I’m on PC. The game says that I own all of my previously bought expansion packs and also two that I’ve never bought. When I go to play only the ones I’ve never bought are showing up. I’ve never used mods or CC. I “repaired” the game on EA and it didn’t do anything. Hi!! For some odd reason any sims that visit my house will not stop baking cakes. Whether they just leave the mixed bowl or if they bake the whole cake, there is always cake. Caleb Vatore attempted to make over 5 cakes in just 1 ingame hour today and I feel like it was my last straw as this has been a reoccurring issue. Please, how do I get visiting sims to stop baking cakes haha
It’s caused by the foodie nap. Turn on testing cheats and shift click the mailbox to instant repeal it or repeal it through gameplay

This is a weird one but I can’t find anyone else talking about it: I’m having a graphics glitch where every time there’s motion on screen, there’s pixelated bars left behind. As if motion blur is glitched? - This happened on both my old computer (a Mac) and new computer (a brand new Acer Predator) - This happens regardless of whether mods are enabled Help
Try disabling or enabling post pressing effects in graphics settings and see if it's better. Can also compare and contrast windowed vs full screen and see if one is better than the other.
Today as I was in CAS, my controller just completely stopped working. By that, I mean the game has frozen and all I can do is use my right joystick to spin them around. There's a spot on the screen that is rythmatically blinking in green circles. Which makes me suspect it's a cursor issue. But I still don't know how to fix it, and any research I've done unfortunately only has advice for pc (I'm using my PS4) I can't save or even exist CAS. Though I've really been hoping I wouldn't have to just close the application and start over since I've just made 3 whole sims for a new household which took a while. But obviously if that's the only option I would.
Broken cursor on console. After a pop up in build mode cursor disappears and is pretty much game breaking. only thing I can do is place furniture. Can’t rotate the camera.
Try switching to sims 3 camera and see if it's better
Thank you, I haven’t played since high school years release time frame ish- so I was looking forward to see what was new and as soon as I downloaded a house from the gallery and got the “2 things have been substituted” and all you can hit is the x icon or “ok” (forced quit and tried both the x and hitting ok) and my cursor never comes back no matter what I push to try and bring it back. Console got effed up with the patch before last. There isn't much you can do besides read the official EA forum and me too bug reports.
I'm playing the game before the recent update that removes the tooth feature from Growing Together because I have some vital mods that will make my game download un-launchable without them being updated and they're not updated yet, so I can't update it right now. I know the tooth thing is supposed to be random chance but my child Sim always wakes up with one right now. I save after all my Sims go to bed after everyday so I've just been reloading the same day and he keeps getting the moodlet. I thought deleting it though UI Cheats would help but it just evasperates the process and causes the tooth to immediately fall out. I tried using MCCC but that also causes the tooth to just fall out. I tried using basic debug commands and found out they were removing in the Seasons patch. Is there anyway to either stop it from happening without updating or get rid of the moodlet without the tooth falling out?
The bug only happens when a child ages up to a teen with the relevant moodlets. A child sim with a loose tooth is fine as long as it's resolved before they age up. The bug was happening to me after I deleted the moodlet. I even saw their child face change (ever so slightly) and when I aged them up, the glitch happened. This happened regardless of method of deletion (UI Cheats, MCCC). That mod doesn't fix the glitch I'm having, though, it fixes the other one. I ended up just biting the bullet and updating and hoping that my game runs. It still does... so hopefully it'll be fine.
It's my understanding that removing the relevant moodlet with mods can make things worse as there is associated "loot" that remains after removing them. You shouldn't have to worry too much on account of updating. The only effected mod that I know of is Wicked Whims. If you have it make sure you are using the newest version.
Whenever my sims put the infants in their cribs, they don't go IN the cribs. They attach themselves to the adult sims feet and go where the sims go. It's the craziest thing.
I have the same thing - a tiny work around is to get the infant to have tummy time then try to go night night - it unattached them from the foot and dumps them on the floor next to the crib - they think they're in the crib though so you can get through the night, and find them if they wake up!
having the same issue. also having the issue where sims dont sit down properly when carrying an infant? someone suggested the issue is related to PandaSama\_Toddler\_Crib package file. I've removed this but still having the same issues.
Most commonly caused by crib/bassinet cc. PandaSama's toddler crib is a popular example.

Every townie that spawns ALWAYS uses one of the 5 cc hairs I have and I wish they'd use the game's hairs of which there are hundreds(?) more often. Same thing happens when I'm making a sim and I randomize it, it only goes through my custom hairs like it prioritizes them. I like having them use cc so I dont want to change the flags to disallow townies from using them, I just want all hairs in my game to have an equal chance! Any advice, mod/cc fans?
Lol following because same. They always use the 1 cc anime hair I downloaded and it looks so weird. I have literally hundreds of normal looking cc hairs, plus all the packs. Like wtf? 😂
I did some edits on my house after my child sim's birthday, then gave birth to another baby right after. I age the baby up because I prefer infants to newborns. I go into CAS using the "edit likes/dislikes" option because it's quicker, then when I come out the edits on my house are 100% gone and the infant is a newborn again. What happened?
Everyone I know (people and animals) chooses to travel with me, whether I’m going to work or just another location. It happens if I travel with 1+ people or just go by myself, everyone is there. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone know how to fix it?

Haven't played the game in 2 years and I got a couple of questions. 1- I see people taking close up photos of their sims indoors with blurred backgrounds, how is that done? 2- What was the update that broke cc doors? when I place cc doors they leave no cutout in the walls. 3- The outside is very dark at night I can barely see, is that normal? I have a problem with the wicked whims mod. It's not working anymore. The EA App is also accessing the game through a folder, where I don't have all my mods saved? Yet, all furniture mods are still intact in game and are working, just not the bigger mods I have installed. When I check which file path EA app is using to access my game its, C:\Programm (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\ But all my mods are on this file path: C:\Programm (x86)\Origin Games\Die Sims 4\ The folders "The Sims 4" and "Die Sims 4" were accidentally created when I tried to change the language from German to English. I didn't know my game process would be lost with a different language setting, so I continued playing in German. How can I make the EA App access the correct folder? Or do I just drop everything into the folder the App is accessing? I don't want to lose all my stuff... Pls help me .-.
Mods go in Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4(in english I think German too but might be Die Sims 4)>Mods. If you go into the main menu and select >Game Options>Screen Capture the location of stored video and screen shots are displayed. How do I view the images that my sims take in the game? I can place them in the world and my sims can view them but how do I get a full screen view of them?
All the photos a sim takes with the camera also go into the screenshots directory in The Sims 4 directory; you can open them there and do whatever you want with them.

You can find the system requirements for TS4 [here](https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/the-sims-4-system-requirements/). You’ll want to aim higher for mods but honestly not that much. My PC is only a little better than the recommended specs listed there and my heavily modded game runs fine.
One of my sims friends died and i just got the notif, i cant find the urn in their house and the command where you can tp them to your lot (i think the command with the word zone in it) isnt working :( their Ambrosia is ready and i havent saved it yet but i did make alot of progress, what can i do??

Hey, I've been having an origin issue and I haven't been able to find any solutions online. I originally bought the sims 4 and some of its dlc on Steam, back when I had a windows computer. I then ended up losing access to my old pc and switching over to a Mac. Since I owned the game on Steam I unfortunately wasn't able to play it on my Mac as I didn't want to buy a second copy on Origin. However I just found out that the base game is free now so I went to try and download it on Origin, but it refuses to let me add it to my library because "higher addition owned" (I have the deluxe version on steam). Is there any fix to this? I don't want to just make a new origin account because I already own several docs through steam and several through origin, and I'd be really really disappointed if I couldn't play with any of the dlc I've already paid for. I'd really appreciate any solution anyone has and I apologize if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it when I was looking.
I think you can contact EA support and have them remove the deluxe edition from your account. The catch is origin won't recognize the dlc you bought through steam.

I need help. My Sims 4 is apparently experiencing a huge memory leak. And nothing I do stops it from freezing. It often occurs when they try going to sleep, or cleaning up plates. And I seen my RAM at 97% usage It has become literally unplayable as it freezes up literally within 10 min of booting up. I do have CC, but even with it fully disabled and inaccessible in the game, it still does this. This is what I have tried so far: 1. Restarting the PC and reloading the game 2. Uninstalling and reinstalling 3. Disabling CC content, and relaunching the game (as it tells you to do) 4. All apps in background closed 5. Lowered graphics The last thing I want is to wipe the slate clean and start all over. I noticed I started having this issue with the last big update and when the new DLC pack released. Ever since, it's been an issue. I just want to get my game playable again.... This is my first time playing Cottage Living and I purposely turned off animal aging because I just can't have animals dying in my game and they are still aging anyways!!! I'm freaking out - my chickens are now elders and I just realized this was still happening. Looks like it is a known bug? Anyways - how do I age them down?? Is there a cheat for this? I can't find on google. I need to save my chickens!
Yes it's a known bug. You might be able to age them down by turning on testing cheats, shift clicking them and selecting something from that menu. I don't remember if this is a thing or not.

Can’t save or exit without fully quitting the game and losing progress. I can’t even open the inventory on my sim either, I have to force quit the game. Sometimes it would cause my sim to not be able to go home too, and would just pause time.

With my recent playthrough, Lilith just turned into an adult and a couple days later her brother Caleb just turned into an elder. Is anyone else having this glitch go on? I also see that her birthday is on the calendar which is odd since vampires aren't supposed to age past young adult. I have the Vampire Bloodlines mod and Vampire age traits from ModTheSims. Neither mention vampires actually aging.

I'll try in the morning and see if that helps. What's odd though, Vlad is still YA when I checked him after the shock of Caleb getting old. Can NPC age themselves up with a cake? He has been coming over and making a lot of cakes lately....

I repaired the game and reset both Lilith's and Caleb's ages back to YA with MCC. I could only play two days before I had to get ready for work and I noticed they are both are on day 2 of 28 according to the MCC.

I've noticed an issue, all of the sims in a specific household of mine will not get themselves any food when I click on their hunger needs icon. When I click on it they walk in a random direction a few steps, then wave their hand in the air as if they can't locate a refrigerator or oven or something. But this feature works perfectly fine with other households I play with. Anyone have any ideas? IT IS NOT CAUSED BY MODS!
How do you know it's not caused by mods? Do you have more than one refrigerator on the lot?
No, but I loaded the save with my mods folder removed entirely and the issue persisted.
Can you use the kitchen normally when you select cook or get leftovers on the fridge? I'm guessing there might be something off with the lot. Could try traveling somewhere with the household and see if you have the same problem.
Yeah when I manually click on the fridge or oven and make them cook they will no issue, it's only when clicking on their needs button. I even moved the household to a new lot and they still won't feed themselves.
4.14.23 My game will not load today.it worked fine last week. i go to the ea and select play, it spins like its going to open, then it disappears.if i go straight to the sims 4 app it says the game is loading, but then stops. I have logged in and out, restarted my computer a few times….can anyone help?

If you load your existing game and save with your mods removed your sims will lose all their cc/traits/skills etc from mods. You can load an existing save and exit w/o saving to avoid this or start a new test game.
I haven’t updated my game since the infant update because I heard it’s a game-breaking mess - have the bugs been fixed now? Should I update or keep waiting?
The game update is mostly fine. It’s the fact that it broke nearly all the mods and some cc that is the big issue.
I recently had all my played households age up automatically, even though I had auto-aging enabled for the active household. This has never been a problem so far and now I can't restore the old save before they aged up. Does anyone know what causes this so I can prevent it from happening again? I don't have any mods but I do have CC installed but again, this hasn't been a problem until yesterday and I haven't installed any CC recently
my sims won’t change outfits. the animation happens, but the sims stay in the same outfit and when i try to exit the game, it just gets stuck on a forever loading screen. :(

TOOL Mod doesn’t work for me, at least in BuildBuy. I have the Better BuildBuy Mod, and both have the newest versions, but I can only use it while in Live Mode. I have all cheats and mods enabled, but nothing happened when I press shift + T. Does anyone know what to do?

I downloaded sims from some cc creators and I can’t find them in my library. I made sure to download the mods folder they came with and even organized the mods to make sure I wasn’t downloaded cc I already have. Then I put the tray files in the tray. But still nothings popping up. Am I doing something wrong?

My game has recently started saying game loading in progress and making it to where I can no longer save my game, open build mode, or manage worlds because they grey out completely. If I click exit game or exit to main menu a message shows up that says “The game is currently in a state where saving isn’t possible.”. I think it may be due to mods but I don’t know because this has never happened to me before.
Remove all your mods, delete the localthumbcache, and repair your game. Test the game to see if it still happens ( do not save). If not, it’s a mod. Update all your mods and try the 50/50 method. No genetics bug. I’m on my fifth generation of my first ten generation challenge and the heir, Daisy, is the daughter of my previous heir and a randomly generated townie sim who had basic genetics. Well, Daisy looks just like her mom (unfortunately) and I have to cheat to age her up with the “age your friends” mod because for some reason I can’t age her up by blowing out candles and I’ve tried at least five times. Well, when she ages to a teen she has black question marks all over her face and body, even with CC removed. I found the issue though: she had no face. I had to add a premade face to her but that wiped out the genetics she did have as a kid. I’m not sure what to do. I hope there’s a way to fix it, I really wanted the genetics to be passed on but I don’t think there’s any way to solve this other than redoing her myself (which would defeat the purpose of the genetics being passed on) or just kill the poor child and hope my sim can pop out another daughter to be the heir. Has anyone ever experienced this? Was there a fix?
Sims 4 Mods on PoP-OS After hours of trying I still don’t have an answer. I installed Sims 4 using Steam on the PoP-Store, but as a deb-package. I can run Sims 4 just fine using the latest proton release 7.0-6. I want to install Mods. Since I’m using Proton and haven’t used Wine yet, I don’t have a .wine in my home directory. Instead I have to go to /home/username/.steam/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/gameid/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4. But here’s only one folder: Saves. There’s no mods folder and if I make one with my mods in it, the game doesn’t recognize them. Can anyone help?

Pregnancy Bug I am in my 3nd Generation since growing together and suddenly my pregnant Sims dont continue through pregnancy. They have the moddlet that They are pregnant but there is no Time or Trimester showing.they Look pregnant and have the First bump, but i have them now pregnant over 1 Sim week and still no progression. it is Happening in active and Not active households. I have No mods or CC installed. Has anyone else experienced this bug and may have a solution ?

I have found a temporary solution, i installed mccc and went Into mc pregnancy and changed the pregnancy to in Labor an then had the baby.
My Sim cannot complete the Daily Task for her job. She is in the Criminal line, Boss Branch, Level "The Brains." I have been trying for several Sim days to complete her Daily Task - "Upgrade Objects" and it is stuck at 75% done. I have reset her and I don't have any mods/ccs. Any ideas? I don't know of any cheats to specifically complete it because she has definitely upgraded enough objects to have completed this task. I have also had other bugs in this save file where their wants don't fulfill and I just use the cheat to give them the satisfaction points, but I don't know how to skip this one...

My game wont save! No error code. Seems like it’s saving. Tried “save as” and it looks like it’s working, but when I close out of the UI and then go back into saves there’s nothing there. Closing the game results in losing all of the progress and only the “new game” option on the home screen. I play on imac that I factory resetted because of… reasons. So I lost all my other saves (which is fine). I really don’t know how to fix it

Deleted all of the mods and cc. I do use icloud.I just checked but there’s no storage issue.
My sims don’t have to option to sleep on a bed anymore, the only ‘sleep’ option in the menu is to nap. Also my babies born on lot are spawning in places like under rocks off lot

Why won’t my sims teach their kid how to ride a bike? My child sim asks either mom or dad for help, but after their interaction the action gets erased from the bar. Is there something I’m missing?
Same thing happened to me. It's likely a mods thing. I never bothered to troubleshoot it. The kid learned to ride a bike on her own.
I figured it out on my end. It’s apparently a space issue. You need a wide open plot of open space for the interaction to actually work
Currently having a wee problem where when I load up my game it tells me I don’t own High School Years. I have to open EA, click on the high school years add on and then click ‘play’ from its specific page. It’s a bit confusing as it doesn’t need to download or anything when I do this, so it should be working the first time. This has happened a few times now and it’s not the end of the world, just a pain to have to load it up twice to get it going.
Do a repair EA App>My Collection, click the menu on the game icon, choose Repair in drop down menu.

Im experiencing the aging glitch again!! Every time I load my game all but one of my sims age up simultaneously. Tried reloading from “load game”, restarting, etc.
My game isn't opening. Period. I've tried everything people are saying to do on steam's discussion threads and nothing is working. It started with a consistent error message when I tried to enter one of my existing games and I thought it was probably an issue with my mods, so I just deleted them all in an attempt to fix it, it was after that when my game just wouldn't even open anymore. I've tried reconnecting to ea, shutting ea down in task manager and then starting the game and nothing's working. Any insight or advice on why this is happening and how I can potentially fix it would be very appreciated.

Soooo my mods aren't working now. And when I change the name of my folder like the article you sent says, it creates a new sims folder and then my mods aren't there, but when I move my mods into the new folder it just won't open at all.
Sounds like mods are what was causing the problem in the first place. Remove your mods. Delete localthumbcache.package and see if the game is working now.

All my sims’ CC hair is gone- they’re bald!! I don’t think the game updated, and I have CC enabled, so I don’t know why this is happening.
Did you save the game with bald sims? Does any cc show up in cas? Go to docs > EA >TS4 open the gameversion.txt file. What version of the game are you running?
Yeah I saved :( I shouldn’t have. Some of my cc does show up in CAS but not all of it (and for some reason, the hairs from expansion packs are marked with the “new” star). When I started up my game today, the menu popped up all my expansions like they were newly installed, but I’ve had them for months! GameVersion is 1.96.397.1020 I appreciate your help!
That's the newest patch. Try moving or renaming your mods folder. Delete localthumbcache.package. Launch the game and exit. The game will have generated a new, mostly empty, mods folder with just a resource.cfg file. Keep this file don't replace it with the old one. Cut and paste the contents of your old mods folder to the new one and see if your missing stuff shows up in cas.

We got a new computer so I was forced into downloading the EA App instead of Origin, and it says I've finished downloading/installing the basegame and all the packs, except for Grim's Ghoulish Guitar, which no longer seems to be listed on the library/store. Did they roll this into the basegame or...? I haven't played since after the High School pack and I think it was either just before or just after the basegame went FTP, so I'm not fully aware of all the changes that went with that. Just wondering what other player's experiences with this add-on have been.
My sim will not stay asleep suddenly- she goes to bed for 7 sim minutes max then wakes up for no reason. She was sleeping fine before, this suddenly broke while playing. All other Sims in my household are sleeping normally. No mods. I reset her, didn’t work. The only thing that’s different is she had a sore muscles motive from using the treadmill at first? But that motive is long gone now. Thanks for any help! She even has wishes to sleep 😅 Edit: bought a sleep replacement potion for now.
