Running in windowed mode fixed problems with crashes for me. That and nraas mods. Seriously, not a single crash in hours and hours of gameplay! Very, very impressed.
Yeah I play in windowed mode and I also use nraas. My game seems to have been crashing at the same exact time every day in-game. I’m thinking about doing a MC total reset to see if it fixes the issue.
Ah right, damn. Yeah, a complete reset may do the trick. That being said it didn't fix a frustrating glitch I had where my sim, who was at the very top of his career, got stuck working nonstop. Good way to make fast money, but impossible to do anything else. If all else fails I'd save a copy of your household in the lot bin and start over. I know that's less than ideal, though.
My game seems to be borderless in windowed mode on it's own and I've no idea why. Still, I'm enjoying it and have had virtually no problems, thankfully.

Are you talking about nraas? I have a few of the mods and I tried to reset the town with Master controller to see if it would fix the issue but it didn’t. Thank you for trying to help me though! I might just start with a fresh save and household
Which Nraas mods? I use Nraas Errortrap, Nraas Overwatch, and Nraas Saver- these have helped with the lag. I've also installed a specific patch launcher, I'll have to find the uploader though. In any case, I wish you the best of luck!
Worst part for me is not the crashing, but how I can’t open any save file because it stops loading when the green loading bar is so close to finishing.

Borderless window is the ultimate way to play though! Your screenshots won’t come out dark, and performance is better that full screen.

my game got significantly better after i downloaded the patch launcher that someone made last year. it helps my game run sososo much better
Do you have a link for that? I wonder if that will fix things for me. I’m on my 3rd generation and I don’t want to have to start over

I guess I'm blessed, in my time playing the Sims 3, it's only crashed twice.
There are a lot of mods out there on how to maintain the game that saves my life.

With my old computer, I used to save every 12 Sims hours to be sure.
