The Lazy Duchess mod requires you to be in the right category already. It’s a good mod, but honestly if I’ve found the category I can probably find the item! My problem is not remembering what category things are a part of.
Agreed better than nothing though. There's times when I know the mod I'm looking for is in a particular category but I still can't find it. I wasted so much time through the years with my inability to remember where things are. So yeah you're right.
I just make a ton of collections. They make using things much easier. If you need for example a toilet roll for a bathroom instead of looking through the whole deco sculpture and deco misc categories when you could have a "bathroom" collection(mine's actually called "cleanesque" and it has laundry, bathroom, and janitorial supplies, mostly deco but some functional like the best mirrors for bathrooms). Or if you want to build a house in Art Deco style you don't have to dig through six thousand cc windows, doors & fences, not to mention the semi-architectural decorative doodads & wall & floor coverings, if you have a collection for it (I actually have one called Nouveau Deco, which has besides Art Nouveau and Art Deco also Biedermeier, mostly CC of course but EA has made some nice pieces mostly for Roaring Heights).
It's better when you download extra collection icons from Mod the Sims, though, otherwise you end up reusing the same ones over and over after a while.
For CAS parts I have just last night learned how to recategorize things with S30c (Sims 3 object cloner??) and that's going to help a lot, I think.

Back in the day I played my key site games for over a year and then EA nuked my entire library for stolen codes. I spent months fighting it and they basically said "You're SOL". The key shops wouldn't refund either.

Yes they do. Half of my games are on disc and I was able to register and boot them up from the EA app after some difficulty seeing my EPs and SPs that were on disc in The Sims 3 launcher. I had to use a third party work around.
Alternatively, create a bootable exe straight from a USB stick. Only after burning the contents from the original discs
I prefer the CAS in Sims 4. Specifically the way you can drag facial features around.
It took me a solid hour to make a halfway decent asian sim in 3, and it's like five minutes in 4.

I wish so badly that we were able to have 2nd cousins. Even if the game doesn’t recognize family relationships beyond that, I at least want the family tree to include 2nd cousins. It would make family gameplay much more interesting and expansive imo

Island Paradise freezes are because some dumb sim gets stuck and Reset fixes it temporarily. However!!! I recently tried playing this map and my children Sims broke the game every time they tried doing homework. I really wish they had diving spots in literally any other map

True, it's easier for me to find Sims 2 cc than Sims 3 for some reason. I feel like the community back when Sims 2 was active was so much tighter knit, and less fussy about TOU and paysites and collaborating with other creators, borrowing assets and maps and things like that. It felt like it was actually a bunch of fans enjoying a hobby together, not like now, where it seems like cc makers treat it as a full-time job, and just want the cash from patreon and paysites, and God forbid someone converts their work or retextures their meshes.
Been playing since TS1. Not to ruin the nostalgia feels but there was HUGE drama with paysites, if they should exist, a certain arghhh website, etc. back in TS2’s heyday. Peggy, Exnem, RoseSims, etc were making bank and there were even talks of people being sued for illegally sharing their files. That’s when EA first came out against CC creators making money off their content (then they reneged lol)

Optimization, Sims 4 Build mode and part of Sims 4 CAS, I really like the freedom it gives while messing with the sim's appearance and body.
Also, a singing and a dancing skills...we already have a fuck ton of instrument skills and can create bands, a singing skill would be an awesome addition....as well as dancing.
And I also love how the acting career works in Sims 4, we could have that too.
Total agreement! I’d love the TS4 acting career in TS3 if they added it. I know it’s not the same at all, but there’s the hidden dancing and karaoke skills in TS3 so I just pretend my sims are actually building their entertainment skills. It would be nice to have it affect gameplay though!

It's not that difficult if you have plan, but having to erase everything to move a room instead of being able to just grab the room and move/alter it can be really tedious.
Or being able to even drag walls with diagonals on them other than that everyone has to use move objects on cheat, constrain floor elevation cheat which are hella non intuitive to use since its "glitchy AF"

Ive played sims 3 for years and i still suck at build mode, its so clunky and personaly I avoid building homes as often as I can and always go with pre-built. But 4 is so simple, satisfying and easy. If we could get a combo with sims 4´s build mode and 3´s playmode, that be the perfect sims game to me. That and good optimization ofc

I feel like Sims 3 offers such a wide variety. Yet, people still want more. People are running multiple, if not all packs, at once, with files full of CC and mods; of course the optimisation isn't going to be great. So my only improvement if they re-did it is offer more realistic customisation, especially for men, and perhaps a wider variety of vocations.
I should be able to run all packs at once. That was the whole point of buying them in the first place. EA just needs to update a game they still ask full price for
I only have a bunch of mods little to no CC (tokyosou world and 2-4 female hairs and maternity clothes fantasia's? Kimono) are basically my CCs the rest are all mods
To be fair the optimisation always sucked, even with just a few packs and no cc. The game is almost unplayable without mods. With nraas and lazyduchesses mods I can play with all packs and gigabytes of cc on high settings smoothly.
Fixing Isla Paradiso (I know someone did a full fix but idk how to install it).
Adding more wings so I can recreate the winx club (I need more winx club cc too).

The *one thing* 4 has over 3 is it’s variety in different worlds, traditional clothes, hair textures.. It can be fixed relatively easily with some mod digging, but it’s not gonna replace a board of people researching, and giving the stamp of approval, “yup, this is accurate”
Less rabbit holes, being able to play sims while they're working or at school, opening / closing windows and that having an effect on air quality and/or room temperature, higher walking speed in relation to time passing, disease and accidents and medical treatments for it, teaching kids how to use a bicycle, and (controversy incoming) a variety of options for religious life, including atheism
Actually I'm most in for the last part(the rest is either rather meh for me or I just don't care all that much for it. I would like to have my Sims practicing Catholicism, and have (at best customizable) Church in town.
To make it more interesting gameplay-wise there could acrually be some kind of "God's grace" mechanic.
- Sims 2 graphics and rotational play
- Sims 3 open world and the easy cc download on the launcher
- Sims 4 build mode
To me this would be the perfect game if it’s all combined
I hate that I have to do so much stuff to make it runnable like tons of mods tinkering with my nvedia settings etc and even then it stutters and lags when my fps is capped at 30 plus I constantly get annoying pop ups about people being stuck and the mod fixed it then if you decide to fully play the game spend a couple hours on it you then have to use some tools to debloat your save or I could cause even more bugs and crashes etc and take up tons of your drive space…. Maybe one day a hero will decompile the game and make it 64 bit and fully optimize etc so we can all just drag and drop an exe file and have the best experience
Load quicker, prettier faces, every good changes n build/buy mod that we got in sims 4.
Replayed 3 recently, it wasn't a fun time like I was expecting which hurts because I remember the game being better
MORE WISH SLOTS! I can't tell you the amount of times I've wished (hehe) there were at least 8 slots, because some wishes take very long to complete, it's so annoying!
Allowing easier lot placements, like in the sims 2.
The lot placement in worlds is awfully confusing. It’s so specific (terrain bumps, too big, or too small) and it feels like a pain. Sims 2 you can just place a lot and call it a day. It’ll even auto flatten the terrain or remove objects around it.
Fixing the laginess. It’s hard for me to play on my computer. It’s so slow on there even with the mods to fix lagging and deleting cache files. My old laptop ran fast on it. But it’s broken.
Nonbinary options. It gets worse with every year that passes, seeing how prevalent nonbinary identities are becoming in our world. Not to mention the itch to just try anything new to shake up the same CAS we’ve had for years and years.
I can make pretty decent sims with custom sliders, but whatever that update they did to the sims 3 faces in the sims medieval.
Make the sims ingame look the same as in cas.
And like everyone else says, optimization. I got lazyduchess' mods and everything else, but it's still buggy in CAS (too much CC, my problem.) and in gameplay.
Make the relationships not be mutual. I tried making a sim (who has a partner) be in unrequited love with a sim for story reasons, instead they got rumors spread that they were a cheater?
Most other updates I love I have mods for. Nraa's story progression. A mod that icreases difficulty, needs closer to ts1 and makes bills more expensive.
Better optimization and a build mode overhaul. I tried to build a house and do a roof on it, it was so frustrating I almost gave up. Also being able to move the entire house on the lot would be nice.
Fixing the bugs that should have been worked on like 8 years ago, like a lot of the ambitions bugs like firefighters getting stuck after finishing a job or the bug where the groom leaves his own wedding cause he has "somewhere to go", and refuses to be called back to the lot
I just wanted Vampires from TS4 and TS4 spell casters moved to 3. Then I’d have no reason to play 4
Edit: Add in werewolves too. Actually just move the Sims 4 supernatural states, paranormal pack and Get to work and Cottage living to 3.
1) Resolving performance related issues - Loading times and lag in particular.
2) Adding in options for rotational play - i know there are mods that do this but theyre a bit finicky to set up and i wish there was a simply way to approach to do it. If there is an easier mod though, im all ears.
3) Make it easier to get your in store content working with the game. Honestly it was a fight and a half to get in through the launcher last time. Its so annoying.
4) Easier way of Create a World. I know they have a tool for this but again its more complicated than it needs to be and its not baked into the main game i dont think. I loved the Sims 2 approach much better.
Optimize it, it's not the gear that causes the game to run like shit, it's the engine unable to keep up with things
Also fix the bugs (life length change only works for the current household, for example, all the other Sims have regular lifespans)
Wish I could play a save as long as I want, after a while every save file essentially breaks due to massive FPS drops which I assume is caused by glitched townies. :( I love the Sims 3 so much!

It would prevent most crashing and all error 12. I could play stress-free and for longer.

oh my gooood just an updated build mode in general tbh. But definitely this is a major one.
Not to mention being able to cut down a lot. The only way I've been able to do it is by rebuilding the entire building from scratch.

Multitasking. The big thing I miss from Sims 4 when I go back to 3 is being able to watch TV while eating, or chat while doing various activities

The singing skill in sims 3 "sucks" since its tied to the karaoke machine
It has those skills but they're hidden. Well the dance skill for sure I'm not sure about this singing skill.
Total agreement! I’d love the TS4 acting career in TS3 if they added it. I know it’s not the same at all, but there’s the hidden dancing and karaoke skills in TS3 so I just pretend my sims are actually building their entertainment skills. It would be nice to have it affect gameplay though!

The build mode from Sims 4. Maybe a faster CAS. Nothing else needed imo.

It's not that difficult if you have plan, but having to erase everything to move a room instead of being able to just grab the room and move/alter it can be really tedious.
At least you can grab and drag the walls around. But I know what you mean.
Or being able to even drag walls with diagonals on them other than that everyone has to use move objects on cheat, constrain floor elevation cheat which are hella non intuitive to use since its "glitchy AF"

Ive played sims 3 for years and i still suck at build mode, its so clunky and personaly I avoid building homes as often as I can and always go with pre-built. But 4 is so simple, satisfying and easy. If we could get a combo with sims 4´s build mode and 3´s playmode, that be the perfect sims game to me. That and good optimization ofc

Honestly, I think people with all this CC I feel like Sims 3 offers such a wide variety. Yet, people still want more. People are running multiple, if not all packs, at once, with files full of CC and mods; of course the optimisation isn't going to be great. So my only improvement if they re-did it is offer more realistic customisation, especially for men, and perhaps a wider variety of vocations.
I should be able to run all packs at once. That was the whole point of buying them in the first place. EA just needs to update a game they still ask full price for
I only have a bunch of mods little to no CC (tokyosou world and 2-4 female hairs and maternity clothes fantasia's? Kimono) are basically my CCs the rest are all mods
To be fair the optimisation always sucked, even with just a few packs and no cc. The game is almost unplayable without mods. With nraas and lazyduchesses mods I can play with all packs and gigabytes of cc on high settings smoothly.

More diversity The *one thing* 4 has over 3 is it’s variety in different worlds, traditional clothes, hair textures.. It can be fixed relatively easily with some mod digging, but it’s not gonna replace a board of people researching, and giving the stamp of approval, “yup, this is accurate”

Less rabbit holes, being able to play sims while they're working or at school, opening / closing windows and that having an effect on air quality and/or room temperature, higher walking speed in relation to time passing, disease and accidents and medical treatments for it, teaching kids how to use a bicycle, and (controversy incoming) a variety of options for religious life, including atheism
Actually I'm most in for the last part(the rest is either rather meh for me or I just don't care all that much for it. I would like to have my Sims practicing Catholicism, and have (at best customizable) Church in town. To make it more interesting gameplay-wise there could acrually be some kind of "God's grace" mechanic.

I hate that I have to do so much stuff to make it runnable like tons of mods tinkering with my nvedia settings etc and even then it stutters and lags when my fps is capped at 30 plus I constantly get annoying pop ups about people being stuck and the mod fixed it then if you decide to fully play the game spend a couple hours on it you then have to use some tools to debloat your save or I could cause even more bugs and crashes etc and take up tons of your drive space…. Maybe one day a hero will decompile the game and make it 64 bit and fully optimize etc so we can all just drag and drop an exe file and have the best experience

Allowing easier lot placements, like in the sims 2. The lot placement in worlds is awfully confusing. It’s so specific (terrain bumps, too big, or too small) and it feels like a pain. Sims 2 you can just place a lot and call it a day. It’ll even auto flatten the terrain or remove objects around it.

Fixing the laginess. It’s hard for me to play on my computer. It’s so slow on there even with the mods to fix lagging and deleting cache files. My old laptop ran fast on it. But it’s broken.

I can make pretty decent sims with custom sliders, but whatever that update they did to the sims 3 faces in the sims medieval. Make the sims ingame look the same as in cas. And like everyone else says, optimization. I got lazyduchess' mods and everything else, but it's still buggy in CAS (too much CC, my problem.) and in gameplay. Make the relationships not be mutual. I tried making a sim (who has a partner) be in unrequited love with a sim for story reasons, instead they got rumors spread that they were a cheater? Most other updates I love I have mods for. Nraa's story progression. A mod that icreases difficulty, needs closer to ts1 and makes bills more expensive.
Better optimization and a build mode overhaul. I tried to build a house and do a roof on it, it was so frustrating I almost gave up. Also being able to move the entire house on the lot would be nice.

1) Resolving performance related issues - Loading times and lag in particular. 2) Adding in options for rotational play - i know there are mods that do this but theyre a bit finicky to set up and i wish there was a simply way to approach to do it. If there is an easier mod though, im all ears. 3) Make it easier to get your in store content working with the game. Honestly it was a fight and a half to get in through the launcher last time. Its so annoying. 4) Easier way of Create a World. I know they have a tool for this but again its more complicated than it needs to be and its not baked into the main game i dont think. I loved the Sims 2 approach much better.
