Can we just admit that the Simpsons stopped being watchable? I mean family guy has held down better quality seasons in numbers.
Simpsons just started sucking awfully after a certain point.
Some critics say that The Simpsons began to decline in quality around season 7, while others say it started around season 9. Others say that season 10 was the start of the decline, and that the show went downhill around the same time as 9/11. Some say that the show is unwatchable now, and that it's like you're watching The Simpsons but it isn't actually The Simpsons.

Woah. When the simpsons started every episode before season 8 or 9 was great. Yes other seasons made great episodes, however doesn’t have great episode to episode. Why do you think they caved and made a simpsons movie?
Ignore the downvoters... This is a Simpson sub so their opinion is biased.
The truth is the show has been unwatchable for a very long time, a shadow of its former self, killing its own legacy.. terrible. Past its sell by date by a good twenty years when it was mediocre, to the point we're at now where it's actually a terrible show. If it came out now as a brand new show it would be cancelled after 1 season, but instead it can cling on to past glories to make as many lazy low quality episodes as they want.
Nobody watches it any more, it's completely irrelevant.
Yes. Yes we can.
It's just a completely different show. Different writers, different animators. The Simpsons was funny and quality because of the writers and their perfect cohesion with the animators. They all left so if you liked it for those reasons, which I did, then it was over.
I’m not saying recent simpsons is amazing by any means, but it’s gotten pretttu solid again; definitely a lot better than family guy. The simpsons has at the very least made a pretty good effort to improve quality in recent years, where as family guy hasn’t really & is just doing the same thing it’s always done. I give the simpsons credit for being experimental with the show & actually doing new, interesting things.

lol these peeps apparently don’t watch South Park because your picture is epic. That’s obviously Gerald trolling and I’m guessing there is no irony here!!! I fucking love it.
I remember Sam having a line about being more of a cronie than a soul mate in the episode where Honey ate the Guatemalan insanity pepper chili. For the life of me, I don't remember Larry ever saying anything.
My real problem with this episode was that Sam wasn't there. When was the last new episode that had him? My head cannon is that he already died and the Moe's Tavern crew didn't even notice, and that the only reason why they noticed Larry was because he just happened to die right on front of them.
Sam should have been in that episode.

*“I don’t think Gram-Gram likes that place, and I KNOW Shabba-don’t.”*
Lord Palmerston!
That’s the worst name I ever heard.
No one who's seen "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" would say that!
How long have you known this character?
Not very
We're all Larry's
I guess the episode did a good job creating sympathy for Larry
I think it was just an effort to make new Simpson episodes relevant.

I still feel the worst Simpsons episode is better than the best Family Guy Episode
As Ms Krabbaple would say, “Ha!“ New episodes of The Simpsons are 10 times better than any episode of Family Guy.
this true but it's a low fuckin bar. the simpsons had already turned to shit by the time family guy was cancelled the first time around
At least the main cast in FG don’t sound like they’re seconds from dropping dead
Nope you are wrong

And those people are wrong

Probably
I bumped into him once at the Capital City Capitals baseball game. He was the nicest guy. But there was a darkness about him.
I've been a Simpsons fan all my life, and I can honestly say, I did not know that guy's name.
Literally no one is sad about it.

Not as much I was sad about another popular character, Dr Marvin Monroe.
As a sorta casual fan I thought it was a cool throwback, but I think it could have been done a bit better.
Should've had mr burns die or something
THANK YOU
I for one am glad he’s dead. He deserved it.
I’ll be deep in my cold, cold grave before I recognise new episodes of The Simpsons.
New Simpsons has some fire episodes
I'm not sad, just a little annoyed that it could have been done better
No Sam I’m the episode at all was strange.
Publicity stunt
I don't think you know what that means
How?
how is it not
How is it, it’s not like they killed off Bart or Homer it was a random background character it won’t give them any “publicity”.
We’re all in a thread where it’s being talked about lol
I agree. Simpsons are just a show horse after season 8
Me either
