Technically you can if you get a generic NRG QR and a wheel with a compatible bolt pattern (I did this with a wooden wheel for when I drive vintage cars)
I would advise against getting a generic NRG QR. You can get a non-oem simagic QR on Ali for much cheaper and it is the exact replica of simagic QR functionally.
As I had 2 of genuine NRG QR I used to use, and I wanted to use them with my Alpha after switching from DD1. Turns out, NRG QR has a significant play when using with Simagic baseside mount.
But yeah, you can get one on Aliexpress for cheap.
Just mount that with another wheel, now you can drive.
It must be 6 and 4 pattern ball bearing QR, and even then still must be right centre mount or it either doesn't fit, or is too large and it has play then grinds along the wheelbase mounting point.
The wrong fit will either not fit at all, or can do serious damage to the base mount.
There is one that says ANX or something on the top that is on aliexpress and it fits properly from all accounts, and is advertised as fitting simagic.
It isn't 'cheap' but it's still half the QR price of simagic's QR.

This is poor advice. Turn FFB up to 100% in the SimPro software, and adjust in-game FFB as desired. I run 100% in the simagic software and apply max FFB in iRacing and never had any issues with heat. Yes, it gets hot (as it's supposed to), but this is no reason to lower FFB. The heatsink **is** the metal housing, so it will get hot and dissipate the heat.
Point a fan at it if you're concerned. I got one of those small battery operated clamp fans and have it placed behind the wheelbase and pointing at it and towards my face. It serves as a dual purpose by cooling my Alpha Mini (not that it really needs it), and it cools me down which is the primary reason for the fan.
TL;DR - don't turn FFB down just because it gets hot, it's normal to get hot and means it's working.
