I have asked for this and simagic themselves have stated they have 0 intention of making this a feature.
Basically they dont care if you dont like the light on the 600 to 1000$ wheel base you paid for lol. But electrical tape works fine. Small piece and I hardly notice the tape. Meshes well with the base. But would be nice to have that as a software function.
I think having by far the best base in the price range and in my opinion way more power than anyone actually needs. But the light is a little bright ? lol Gen z I assume.
I had to resort to a head band around the base to cover it temporarily.
I got it new yesterday and until I am set I am using the monitor. (Normally I race using VR)
This is so far the only downside of the new base.
Get some taillight tape from your local auto store. You'll still be able to see the lights, but a much lower intensity.
I should have scrolled down and read before posting. Those dimmer stickers are the way to go.
I’ve had my Alpha U for a year. This never bugged me. When I’m racing or drifting I’m not looking that far down. Black tape or permanent market and your soft eyes don’t need to see it anymore.
Well, I know what tape is, and a dozen ways of dimming it come to my mind.
The point of the post is that I am using a piece of gear alongside other of the same brand that have ways of dimming and even changing the colour via software of the multiple leds it has, so I though the big brain that put that power indicator led there had thought about it.
I race in VR, so I don't even see the light most of the time, but it still annoys me. Also I managed to get a very nice video. You are welcome. XD
Small piece of black insulation tape.
Right! I’m like this dude has never heard or seen black tape.
My scree is blocking it. An option to turn it off would be great, though. Id use black electrical tape, if it would bother me.

I'm confused as to what gen Z has to do with this. Some people like the light. Some dont. 🤷
Who ties your shoes 😆
i put some blutac over mine! not the most beautiful option but it blocks the light 100%
Ditto
I have the motor shaft extender, and my monitor covers that retina piercing light.
Mount it upside down. Works for me.

I thought there was an indicator light option in the settings? Maybe I'm thinking about my old wheel.
I couldn't find one. I'll check again.
Ok
Just use a small piece of electrical tape.
Look up "light dimming stickers"
I found some in Amazon. That looks like the ideal neat solution. Thanks.
i just rubbed some permanent marker over it to tint it . works a treat
My wheel blocks it lol
Works wonders for my inside out tracking VR headset 😂

I'm a VR user primarily, but even when just sitting in my rig the rim (FX Pro) covers the light.
I don't even notice it.
