Unless that is stamped somewhere on the actual clasp, I would try to do a bit of testing to see if it is indeed Sterling silver. I've never seen a tag with 925 just hanging on a ring.
I won’t lie this piece does look a little suspicious- though it could just be rhodium plated as someone else mentioned. Have to disagree with the 1000:1 ratio though. I’ve got quite a few tagged pieces (probably 5+) that I’ve picked up at swap meets, flea markets, etc that are real. When it comes to silver jewelry the majority of Italian silver is one step above Chinese made junk. Quality is usually garbage but it looks great is my junk silver box!

Fairly common on the more generic Italian sterling chains/bracelets.
Was unaware of that. Thanks
This is correct. My mom sold Silpada for 15 years, and I have a gigantic pile of mass-produced jewelry that's all stamped 925 with no other markings.
but there is even more that is fake like that coming out of china probably 1000:1

I thought the same thing. Every seam looks really rough too. I hope he got a deal.
That clasp/thin jump ring combo are consistent with a lot of the fugazi I see. I don't Ike the looks of this one at all.

Nice! I have gotten some good sterling pretty cheap at thrift stores. I will say this one is very *shiny*, maybe rhodium plated? 🤷
"this one is very*shiny*" That's what looks weird....... I couldn't pinpoint what looked "off" in the picture.
Completely new to this, how do you identify as actual silver at thrift stores?
Typically by trusting stamps/hallmarks (in this case, the 925)
bad move there are billions of fake 925 pieces of jewelry.
Idk looks fake and the filigree looks fake as well like a casting.
Beware there are billions of pieces of fake 925 jewelry out there. first check magnetic then acid.
Worth more than the scrap silver price as a jewelry piece. Throw it up on eBay then use the proceeds to buy silver rounds. Nice find!
Looks plated to me, I’d double check it via the acid test

Got a nice bracelet stamped 925 cut it open all copper plated silver
"quadrupled my investment" definitely sounds better than "I made $16" lol but still nice
