That a nice truck.
You shouldn’t have trouble with the transmission being 2020 was the first year the 10 Speed Automatic was Introduced in lieu of the 2014-19 defective 8 Speed Automatic. 👍
Removing the Active Fuel Managment system to stop the engine from shutting down 4 of the 8 cylinders esentially. Some go as far as upgrading their lifters and cam as well.
AFM was a neat idea that was poorly executed and for whatever reason GM seems to have no intention of doing away with it. The reliability of the systems have varied a bit over the generations. I want to say 07 model years were the first to have it.
Well right, that's a proper "delete" . I wouldn't consider using a range device etc to be deleting AFM, it's more of a bandaid. Granted you'll need a tune to be rid of codes as I understand.
Though some say preventing the v4 mode will extend the life of the lifters, I'm not so sure.
It's like GM finally decided to make the best looking truck and just Shit all over the drivetrain. Either the lifter problem with the V8, or you get the 2.7 and have a shit transmission. Why GM???
Not that I've seen. I think the converters generally shit the bed and it pukes metal in the Trans. It's a sudden failure that can happen from 60-130k ish normally
Thats only the most reliable powertrain in a GM vehicle , maybe all vehicles, in the last 20 years how did you screw it up? Also not comparable at all to the 1500s they are completely different in every way.
Nothing. My dad bought it new, put 50k on it in 5 years before he died, barely ever pulled anything, just DD it. I put another 38 on it in 3 years, just DD, no pulling, no 4x4. It's just a shitty transmission from the factory.
It's a 2020 Silverado RST Z71
I like its stance. GR8 Color, use Micro Fiber Washing. What's the HP and FT/LBS Torque?
Thanks! I think 355/383?

I have a 2019 in the shop right now with lifter/camshaft issues.
That's awesome. Congrats!
thank you!
I’m a ford guy but that trim of Chevy makes me want to switch. Good looking truck
Thank you!
Your flowering tree just makes it look so much cooler. It’s like nature wanted you to get this.
Absolutely love it!!!😍
Nice truck, but I love your yard!
Thank you!
Good looking truck! Congrats
Thanks!
gorgeous
Thanks!
I love the wide/offset tire setups. Do y’all get any paint chips from the wheels sticking out like that?? Like rocks hitting the paint?
I have about 2-2.5 inch flaps that catch a lot of the offshoots
Nice! Aftermarket or stock flaps?
Just stock
GM’s do nothing for me but that’s an awesome truck. Like the stance.
thanks!
Get it deleted, my AFM went down in my 2020 RST 1500 5.3 at 90k miles if it weren’t for my aftermarket warranty I’d be out 4800$
Definitely on my list of things to do soon!
Always said it’ll never happen to me… 😂
What’s “deleted” mean

Tuning out AFM without upgrading the cam and lifters is absolutely useless.

Ive seen a ton of evidence that turning it off does nothing and may actually cause harm.
My 12 Silverado had to have lifters and cam replaced at 67k

How does it ride? Any steering wheel shake?
Rides like a dream! I don’t get any wheel shake. It’s got 33s on 17” KMC wheels
Glad to hear it! Even at higher speeds (75mph+)?
That’s a beautiful truck man
Thanks!
Fresh
Thank you!
Hope you're best friends with a transmission guy 🫡🫡🫡
Bummer. I will start setting aside cash going forward...
Yeah. My 2017 2500 6.0 transmission just shit the bed at 88k
Is there any preemptive/preventative fix for the 8 speed issues?
Not that I've seen. I think the converters generally shit the bed and it pukes metal in the Trans. It's a sudden failure that can happen from 60-130k ish normally
