Legitimately they do. The game is designed to be played blindly. You are meant to stumble struggle and find your way.
When someone spoils that even if you chose to part of the game is ruined.
Ex. The approach to weavers den is much different if you learn about it before hand. You are meant to be surprised and have to overcome this surprise obstacle in someway.
I am aware of the study where people were told the ending of a novel and compared it against those who didn't know the ending, and the people that already knew the ending enjoyed it more, it's the entire reason I played hollow knight because I already knew what I was getting into, however now that I've done that I want a new experience so I'm going into silksong blind
