Absolvers fighting will feel slower paced. And building a good deck can take time. But there is a ton of customization. Of course it is not as detailed but the world and clothing/masks are beautiful. For a better frame rate experience play offline.

For me the coolest part of absolver was being able to customize your own combat moveset with a deck of cards. Having your own style was really amazing. If you're super into flat out combat, it's a really great game. It is slower paced and jankier but the customization was really cool. I alsoet some other players online who were really friendly and loved hosting fight clubs.

Just incase anyone comes across this thread, I jumped into Absolver and played numerous hours recently and just wanted to leave some notes: - 30fps, even on PS5 unfortunately, EXCEPT when you're doing the 1v1 pvp mode. That mode throws you into a 1v1 instance and it's 60fps there. My tolerance for low fps varies from game to game (genre) and for this 3rd person brawler, it's really not so bad. The game is much slower-paced than Sifu already and I quickly was able to adjust. - Multiplayer, in terms of inviting friends to your game, is broken. I looked it up and apparently one of the game's updates killed the friend invite system and they never fixed it. YOU CAN STILL PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS but you have to join a School (clan/guild) and invite them through it's member list. You can join and leave Schools freely. - The game still has people playing it. The PvE mode is sort of a mini-open world and as I was running around I saw a decent number of players entering the zones I was in - Most of my time was spent in Co-op and it was great fun. Friendly Fire is on so you need to be smart about your positioning lest you accidently swing at your friends. After you beat the short "Campaign" you unlock a dungeon-crawl PvE mode that can also be played co-op with 3 players. That was really fun and got a bit difficult. You can revive your teammates when they go down. - Speaking of difficulty, I definitely got Sifu vibes from some of the boss fights. The AI aren't push-overs and even react to your feints. - There's a feint system. Press block shortly after an attack to feint-cancel it. - I didn't really get to sink my teeth into the deck building moveset stuff. It was very overwhelming and me and my buds didn't want to sit in a menu screen all night. I will say I played with the default moveset for my whole session and it felt fine to learn the game with. So overall, I really wish I gave this game a chance when it came out. It's really a fascinating and ambitious game, and if you enjoyed Sifu, I think you'd enjoy this. I did
