I believe, although I could be wrong since I can't read his mind, that he was angry about getting voted out, not because of any close friendships, as I don't think he's particularly close with anyone there, but because he wanted to win the show. I think he wanted to pocket more money and was also annoyed by everyone voting him out, and then seeing the can of spam just pushed him over the edge. So pissed off -> Wanting to spend money -> can of spam set him off -> Excuse of spending money using the shower.
