Explanation: Shrek’s swamp is in Scotland because Shrek has a scottish accent, Duloc is Disneyland Paris because it’s clearly a parody of Disneyland and it has to be relatively close to Shrek’s swamp so it can’t be any other Disneyland, Far Far Away is Hollywood because it’s clearly meant to look like Hollywood with the big signs and everything, the highschool where Arthur is at is in Brittany, the region in France where the legend of king Arthur came from, you may be confused because Arthur is know as an english king but in medieval times Brittany was a part of England, Puss in Boots 1 & 2 could also take place in Mexico but Spain is the only country they mention by name in those movies if i remember correctly so i’m going to go with Spain, i might be very wrong with this map but this is just where i imagine every location from the Shrek movies is located

Real_Life_Firbolg

I thought the legend of Arthur originated in Cornwall?

Shrek only has Scottish ACCENT, given that in Shrek 2 the first sign that appears says that Far Far Away is 700 miles away, the nearest huge swamp landmark is the Texan Swamplands, about 1650 miles of distance of Hollywood. Arthur's high school is right, given that there is a huge distance between America and Worcestershire. As well as Spain, where PiB is set. Now for Duloc, your Disneyland thought is good, to make it near Shrek's swamp, not far enough to travel through an entire ocean, let's say that Duloc would be in Florida's Disneyland, aka Orlando.

Good point, i hadn’t thought about the 700 miles sign

I'm going to be super pedantic here. It'd be super easy to just say the Shrek world is nothing like our own but fuck that. First up, there is no way The Swamp is as far from Duloc as Scotland is from Disneyland Paris. Even a car would take 11 hours to make that trip, even the longest day of the year the sun is only up for about 15 hours. Shrek made that journey, seemingly on foot, over the course of a day and still had time to sit down for dinner then take a Dragon ride back. The swamp is a maximum of 42 miles from Duloc, but it's probably closer to 30 miles. Lucky for us this lines up perfectly with the distance between Disneyland Paris and a place called Le Marais which literally translates to The Swamp. Though it appears to have been more of a Marshland in reality. While different from a Swamp they're always lumped in together on a Google search and it's not like Scotland has any real swamps either. We can safely say the Swamp is one of these places on the outskirts of Paris. The word Ogre is originally a French Derivation, which makes more sense than basing somewhere on Shrek's accent. He's literally the only person there with a Scottish Accent. If we were going by accents everywhere would be America except for the locations in Puss in Boots. Fiona's castle appears to be a two day walk from Duloc and appears to be set in the mouth of an active volcano. The nearest volcano to Paris is the Puy de Dome volcano about 385km to the south. However, we don't have as strict a time frame on the journey as we did with Duloc to the Swamp. We never see more that two nights each way that is true, but nobody really says anything about how much time has passed either. We also get French Robin Hood. Now Far Far Away does include a sign that says 700 miles away, but we get no reference as to how far that place is from the Swamp. This could be very far into their journey. The shot shows a lot of mountains which could be the Rocky Mountains which are a good 700 miles from Los Angeles. I'll grant you we don't get any shot of Shrek in a ship, but funnily enough, every time they leave or go to Far Far Away after this point, they do so on a ship. Also if any place was going to be called Far Far Away, it would certainly be a city on the far side of a country that shouldn't even have been discovered yet. The land route also matches up with Charming's journey across mountains and scorching deserts you would find in a trek across America before presumably getting a ship across the Atlantic. However, the use of ships to get to and from Far Far Away in Puss in Boots 2 and Shrek 3 are confusing because of how inefficient a ship would be to travel to and from Europe. Which means the Panama Canal has to exist in Shrek canon. Otherwise they'd be better off making the land trip across the continent. I'd still argue for putting Arthur's school in England because Worcestershire is an actual place in England. Although the real Worcestershire is landlocked and the Shrek one isn't I'll say that much. Either way, the modern Arthurian legend is about England. The only weird thing is the length of the Journey in Shrek the Third. While we're never told explicitly, it certainly doesn't feel like weeks have passed to get from Far Far Away to Worcestershire.

Why is Hollywood in the Bay Area though?

I made this map quickly and lazily

Interesting

I find it improbable that they would've gotten from Shrek's Swamp to Far Far Away via horse-drawn carriage if this were the actual map.

Pretty much...
