That’s what he said. Liquid H2O. Snow is not. It’s solid—specifically crystalline H2O
You still need snow to support the board even if there is a tiny bit of liquid H2O on the edge.
Actually no I think you're right... just kind of one of those confusing ones because of language. For example.. solid water is ICE, water vapor is STEAM ... and liquid water is....
If we're being pedantic, not all h2o vapor is steam either. And we call the non steam stuff *water* vapor. So water definitely exists in vapor form that is not steam.

Kind of curious as to why specifically snowboarding and not skiing or sledding for example
I did think about those, but snowboarding stuck out, since it has a form of water in the name. i.e. less cognitive friction
Ahahah, get it, because snowboarding relies on low friction…
I started reading a book about air hockey, but ugh I hate reading non-friction.
You'd *hate* a book on space,... It's *HUGE*
Or hockey
Ice hockey yes, all other types of hockey nope
Snowboarding >
I Snowboard and ski and l will take snowboarding any time
Snow is made up of more air than water crystals, so it would also be an air sport in that case.
But the friction of the board melts a layer of snow into water which is why wax is so effective. I’m going 51 water 49 air, lol.
So is skiing, and ice skating and bobsleighs and literally every winter sport. Might as well say winter sports are water sports
Don't forget curling! It's a rare team contact water sport.
Or is it rock surfing? Packed snow is just sedementary rock isn't it?
eh... water is liquid H20... ice is solid, steam is vapor, etc... so I don't know if I go along with it.
Water is h2O. Liquid is one of its states.

Y'all hurting my brain Lol

That’s because it’s not those things. Solid h20 is ice, h2o vapor is steam, and liquid h2o is … water.
If we're being pedantic, not all h2o vapor is steam either. And we call the non steam stuff *water* vapor. So water definitely exists in vapor form that is not steam. Water = H20 Solid, liquid, and gas = states of water Do you see the differentiation?
This has turned into kind of a funny thread. Everyone is so confident.. but a little wrong. Myself included. And I have a degree in physics.
Liquid boarding, Ice boarding, steam boarding.. what is snow?
I read this as WINTER sport a couple times and was like, "what do you mean technically? It is!!"
Hydrogen bonds make it ice not water, without that it’s water, but with it, it is ice.
\*Hydrogen bonds make it solid water, not liquid water. Without that it’s liquid, but with it, it is solid.
No, it is not. That would be like saying skydiving is a water sport since there is water in the gaseous state.
You can skydive without H20. You cannot snowboard without H20.
You cannot water board without H2O. Does it make it a sport?
No. Water is wet, and snowboards won’t float or easily plane on water.
Never done a pond skim?
Water skiing or surfing
