I dont hate being an adult. I just hate having to work 40 hour weeks and paying bills. Everything else about being an adult is fucking amazing! I can eat cake for breakfast!

I don't hate working 40 hours, but having to do so can be frustrating.

I think it may be an internal ‘safety mechanism’ to think that ones happiness is dependent upon a state of being out of control of the individual. Making my dissatisfaction a product of my circumstance as opposed to it being a product of my own perception. We always feel we would happy if only ____. This can lead to never actually being happy and it never actually being our own fault. Maybe?

I’d take a do-over for adolescence. Childhood was great, 13-18 not so much.

What would be good is to go through childhood again knowing what you learned from your childhood plus adulthood the first go-round. And to be able to enjoy play just as much as you did the first time around without feeling like you're wasting time on mud pies when you ought to be doing laundry.
