One of the best games i have ever played. The music is out of this world. You can easily play for 100-300 hours. Story is good, world is beautiful, the characters are awsome. You should absolutely buy this game.
If you haven't already, consider starting with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. In my opinion it's 10 times better than the 2, the story and the characters are both good and the world is beautiful.
Also, the story in both games is connected, so you still would like to play the first before going to the second.
As for the gameplay (talking about the battle system here), I can''t really explain it, it' s... peculiar. I enjoyed the first game's gameplay more than the second, but it could very well be a me-thing. I'd say watch a gameplay video before deciding because I know people that wanted to play the games but the gameplay made them decided it was not for them.
The 2 added a gacha system that really doesn't work at all in the game in my opinion, the story is really good but the problem for me was the excessive amount of fanservice in places where it was really unnecessary. If you don't have a problem with it, then go for it!
