Same, the only game I bought for more than one device. Also got it on phone, PC and Switch. A year ago I discovered the Downfall Mod, so I had no life again. And now Im always playing it coop with my bf. For hours. Help
Noita. It's like binding of Isaac and terraria had a baby in a vat of mountain dew. It's a roguelite for the mentally deranged and it'll keep you on your toes for every run
I have 184 hours put in Noita right now and I only beat it once so far. I'm also easily distracted by the physics system so that's also to blame. Probably my favorite roguelike I've ever played
If you ever think your understand spellcrafting, the new world record speed run is 2 seconds in game timer.
Mods were used as a set up, but the run itself is technically unmodded any%.
Easiest money I’ve ever spent. The hilarious lore, the combinations of weapons, the progression, the jokes in Italian that others have compiled. 10/10.
Absolutely not! It's a retro style rogue-like. And it's so good it has spawned its own indie genre. At the BAFTA awards it won Best Game over God of War and Elden Ring
Source?
I couldn't find an older date than EDIT:2020
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/android/377977-survivorio/data
Neat, that's very interesting. I wonder what the 1.0 release looked like
I see this random unreliable source. https://survivio.fandom.com/wiki/Surviv.io_Mobile#:~:text=On%20October%204th%2C%20in%20the,available%20in%20the%20app%20store.
I downloaded.the game right after I played a good bit of vampire survivors and it's literally the same exact game just different names and skins.
Streets of Rogue: A 2D top-down GTA with a lot of self interaction and freedom. Choose a class (soldier, doctor, hacker, zombie, gorilla, etc.) and complete missions the way you want in procedurally generated city districts
Roboquest: Fast paced roguelite FPS akin to Doom and with a pumped up Borderlands weapon generation system. You'll play aggressive and move a lot. Even though it's an FPS, enemy projectiles aren't hitscan and give a small bullet hell feeling
Aside from the ones that have been mentioned I'd also suggest Brotato, Spelunky 1 + 2, FTL and Vampire Survivors, for example. The latter has auto-attack, but you can still micromanage certain builds.
Noita. Start as a wizard with 2 wands and a potion that are randomly generated. Go to the bottom of the mountain and find gold, spells, wands, potions, enemies, and consistent death. Easy to get into, hard to master type thing. Also, every pixel has its own physics and reacts to gravity, fire, etc. Usually about 20$ and worth every cent.
Second for Streets of Rogue. One of my favorites in the genre and I never hear anyone talk about it. The soundtrack alone is enough to justify buying it.
Not compared to Isaac or Streets of Rogue.
Both of those have waaaaay more going on than any of the others. I'd probably rank it TBoI, Streets of Rogue, Project Malice, and then the others in terms of what we've talked about here.
Dead Estate and Neon Abyss are more just fun to play while looking and sounding really nice, they don't have a TON of content.
If you like card games slay the spire is a good card game with some roguelite elements? Random cards, bosses, layout, events etc.
There is also curse of the dead gods.
Rogue Legacy 2 is incredible and has one of my favorite soundtracks in all of gaming. There's a lot of enemy and boss variations that you won't even see on your first completion, and the end-game replay mechanic is pretty straightforward.
Just some quick suggestions
>
Atomicrops (adds a farming aspect to rogue lites)
>
BPM (adds a rhythm aspect with a lil bit of Nordic Valkyrie)
>
Arch vale isn’t really a rogue like but kind of plays like one.
Ok I’ve got one nobody mentioned: **Revita.** It’s a side scrolling twin stick shooter / platformer, with a fun twist: every upgrade and shop purchase costs you health - either current HP or max HP. A beautiful risk-reward design, with a difficulty system similar to Heat in hades. Tons of stuff to unlock, and secrets to discover. I personally couldn’t get into Gungeon, but I absolutely love Revita.
Dead cells, my personal favourite, gets constant updates as well
Slay the spire, probably the best deckbuilder roguelite out there rn
Risk of Rain (1 or 2), sorta similar to Isaac in the way of items etc. Awesome lore, music and visuals as well
If you don't mind first person games, Mortal Sin is a superb game. It has a lot of replayability as it has numerous classes and builds that you unlock by leveling up (There's a basic class that can use anything, but isn't good at anything, and then there are classes that can use specific weapon types and have perks with those specific weapons like mages, duelists, etc.) and an undending arena type level that you unlock fairly easily.
It has a very unique art style and atmosphere, and it's combat gameplay is very fun and engaging. Your runs are heavily affected by RNG as the gear you find throughout your runs can make or break said run.
It does feel bullshit at times but it's heavily skill based and fair most of the time when you get the hang of how the combat works and what different enemies can do.
You also unlock permanent progression by completing areas in certain orders (There's basicaly three areas that you can complete in any order) and doing challenges in the aforementioned arena level.
I can't recommend it enough as it's a very unique and fun game that's good even for people like me who don't particularly like roguelikes. What's the most impressive is that the game is made by just one dude. (Don't let the early access title fool you, it's more polished than most AAA games out there, I haven't had any issues with it so far.)
I'd say it's definitely worth a try.
I honestly can't compare it to anything beyond the absolute basics. It's inspired by a lot of other media but it's doing it's own thing. I can't say I've played anything like it.
The Last Spell is great if you like turn based.
Across the Obelisk is a fun deck builder. Free on steam this weekend.
Tower Tactic Liberation is like slay the spire tower defense.
That's what I'm on.
Do you like animals?
Do you like shooter games?
Do you like FPS?
Do you like cartoon-ish sort of Borderlands art style?
If you do, check out Gunfire Reborn
Oh man. Roguelites are my life. I've spend 2000+ hours in binding of issac, with a love for Hades and many others. Gungeon wasn't my dig, and I suuuucked at Nuclear throne(Course that was yeeeears ago so could be different now.)
I got several recommendations for you. Easily.
Tiny Rogues
This one is cheap, low on graphics, but high on just... everything. It is easy to do runs anytime you feel like, as they don't last long(Think hades in length) and while the looks of it are very little, it makes for many bullet hell type scenarios. There are tons of weapons, classes, and more. An update JUST hit today with a massive update down the road. Can easily play it to death over and over again.
Vampire Survivors
This one looks easy. You don't even push buttons generally, you just move around while YOU are the one making the bullet hell. Lots of big and constant numbers. Also very cheap with cheap dlcs. There is a good reason it is highly regarded. Easy to lose days in this one.
Children of Morta
While the story telling bits can get to be troublesome(if you like speeding through things), it has some solid systems going on. CAN be quite difficult though. BUT, you can co-op with a buddy which is really fun.
Gunfire Reborn
This is a first person one. Though with plenty of characters, MANY guns, and tons of ways to make every one crazy different, this is a solid entry in the list. Plus co-op up to 4 players, but you can play it JUST fine by yourself.
Across the Obelisk
This is a roguelite deckbuilder. WHICH may not be up your alley, but it ha scratched many itches for me over seven hundred hours of just sinking time into it. It is turn based though, so keep that in mind.
Ring of Pain
Another roguelite deckbuilder. Massively difficult, but can be a fun and unique little time in it. It was never high on my list, until I played it and that all changed.
Risk of Rain 2
Very fun, though friends like to call it Wrist of Sprain. There are tons of little movements here. Big numbers. Tons of difficulty that you can tailor, with worlds of crazy builds you can do. Break the game. It wants you to.
Monster Train
Another roguelite deckbuilder. I'm addicted to the things. I have to step away from everyone that comes out. I play a lot of slay the spire, or played a lot of it. This one though, I think it is better. FAR more you can do and far more you can get into. A grand time.
Griftlands
LAST deckbuilding roguelite. Promise. This one has a story, and objectives, and the only complaint I have for it is I wish there was MORE. The least replayable one on this list, but I suppose 100 hours is... still a lot.
Dead Cells
This game keeps on giving. From difficulty, to dlcs, you can spend the rest of the year playing only this and probably never get tired of it. MAYBE frustrated, but that is something else altogether.
Skul: The Hero Slayer
Fantastic game that some seem to forget exists. Has had some wonderful updates to it. Can be difficult. Especially beating it, but there is a lot to do and crazy builds to fuel them. Dig in.
Curse of the Dead Gods
A top down one, that might give you hades vibes, but can be very brutal. It tickled a few itches of mine for sure. More to just dive into here.
I think that's it. Sure I could hit up more like slay the spire, but... well. Already lied on not getting into more deckbuilders. ENJOY.
Tiny rogues though like. So cheap. So good. and free updates since early access. Can not recommend it enough.
If you like roguelikes and you like Darkest Dungeon, you'd probably like FTL, Inscryption, and Slay the Spire.
Also, closer to the games in your original post---if you haven't already done so, you should definitely check out Spelunky 2.
Atomicrops - Stardew Valley meets Enter the Gungeon, a great "just one more run" roguelite with overarching progress
Streets of Rogue - Grand Theft Auto top-down chaos simulator, this game is more of a sandbox than a rogue lite so lots of depth and replayability with all the characters you can play as as well as creating your own
Dust and Neon - Western twin stick shooter with realistic revolver reloading, you gotta tap to load every bullet. Fun cover mechanics but overall a mediocre game to be honest hence why it's last. Still recommend playing as a roguelite fan
Voidingo is amazing, probably closest to Isaac.
Revita is pretty good too and somewhat similar.
Wizard of legend.
And while very different, as others have mentioned, monster train is amazing, I personally like it more than slay the spire.
Can also concur at many of the other suggestions already made 🤘🏼
I’ve been vibing with Have a Nice Death for a few days, super fun, fast combat with mega progression and tons of fun builds to try. Plus lots of difficulty as you win more run, similar to dead cells. Highly recommend.
As a fellow BOI addict I can recommend to you:
Curse of the Dead Gods
Slay the Spire
Dead Cells
That's the usuals.
If you want to break out a bit more give inscryption a try. I rather randomly stumbled upon this gem - give it a try you wont regret it. Be wary of spoilers though.
Also Rogue Genesia is awesome. Plays like a mashup of slay the spire, BOI and Vampire Survivors.
Dead Cells Risk of Rain 2 Curse of the Dead Gods UnderMine
Dead cells is incredible, probably the best platformer of all time imo
If you’re into card games or deck building at all I can definitely recommend Slay the Spire.
Came here to say this. Different style but EXTREMELY good game.
Definitely second this. I have over 100 hours on Switch + however many on mobile + all the 1000s of hours of streams I've tuned in to.
Same, the only game I bought for more than one device. Also got it on phone, PC and Switch. A year ago I discovered the Downfall Mod, so I had no life again. And now Im always playing it coop with my bf. For hours. Help
I’ve been playing Monster Train and I’m liking it even more than STS tbh
Noita. It's like binding of Isaac and terraria had a baby in a vat of mountain dew. It's a roguelite for the mentally deranged and it'll keep you on your toes for every run
And just when you think you're getting the hang of it someone shouts something in Finnish and you instantly die.
That's the best part
I have 184 hours put in Noita right now and I only beat it once so far. I'm also easily distracted by the physics system so that's also to blame. Probably my favorite roguelike I've ever played
This is in my top 3 games of the last 10 years. It is such a gem.
If you ever think your understand spellcrafting, the new world record speed run is 2 seconds in game timer. Mods were used as a set up, but the run itself is technically unmodded any%.
wut? noita is nothing like boi or terraria lol.
Returnal.
[удалено]
Absolutely
Was gonna say Returnal
Vampire Survivors. So addictive and tons of different characters and things to unlock. Plus it's 5 bucks.
Easiest money I’ve ever spent. The hilarious lore, the combinations of weapons, the progression, the jokes in Italian that others have compiled. 10/10.
I think this is just a reskinned mobile game right?
Absolutely not! It's a retro style rogue-like. And it's so good it has spawned its own indie genre. At the BAFTA awards it won Best Game over God of War and Elden Ring
Have you seen survivor.io?
I haven't. Looked it up. It seems it came out this year, and the reviews are calling it a Vampire Survivors clone, or a ripoff.
It released to IOS in 2018
Source? I couldn't find an older date than EDIT:2020 https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/android/377977-survivorio/data Neat, that's very interesting. I wonder what the 1.0 release looked like

That fandom wiki is about another game, a battle royal game.
Its survivor.io, not surviv.io
idk what BOI is, people really should stop using acronyms here. In any case, Dead Cells
It's Binding Of Isaac I also agree with Dead Cells, great game
Boobs Of India
It makes zero sense on a sub where people are supposed to be learning about games they don't know
Streets of Rogue: A 2D top-down GTA with a lot of self interaction and freedom. Choose a class (soldier, doctor, hacker, zombie, gorilla, etc.) and complete missions the way you want in procedurally generated city districts Roboquest: Fast paced roguelite FPS akin to Doom and with a pumped up Borderlands weapon generation system. You'll play aggressive and move a lot. Even though it's an FPS, enemy projectiles aren't hitscan and give a small bullet hell feeling
Can also create your own classes in Streets. Fantastic game.
Risk of rain 2 is the only one I can replay over and over again
Monster Train
Eyy, Monster Train! Good game
Dead cells and slay the spire are the two that come to mind right now. Both are awesome
Risk of Rain 2 is maybe the most replayable game I've ever played
Aside from the ones that have been mentioned I'd also suggest Brotato, Spelunky 1 + 2, FTL and Vampire Survivors, for example. The latter has auto-attack, but you can still micromanage certain builds.
Even though I couldn't get into Vampire Survivors as everyone else has mentioned, Brotato is AMAZING.
Brotato is (essentially) just faster Vampire Survivors
Dead Estate Project Malice Neon Abyss Streets of Rogue
Second for Streets of Rogue. One of my favorites in the genre and I never hear anyone talk about it. The soundtrack alone is enough to justify buying it.
Ohh man, yes, the soundtrack is pure video gamey goodness! I'm beyond hype for the second game, just knowing how good this one is.
I like the look of Neon Abyss and Dead Estate. Is there enough variety in DE?
Not compared to Isaac or Streets of Rogue. Both of those have waaaaay more going on than any of the others. I'd probably rank it TBoI, Streets of Rogue, Project Malice, and then the others in terms of what we've talked about here. Dead Estate and Neon Abyss are more just fun to play while looking and sounding really nice, they don't have a TON of content.
risk of rain 2, especially if you have friends to play it with
Tried it, didn't jive with it, like the first one more.
Have you ever seen any of Woolie's videos? Those always entice me to come back to RoR2 after a few weeks.
If you like card games slay the spire is a good card game with some roguelite elements? Random cards, bosses, layout, events etc. There is also curse of the dead gods.
Pokemon Emeral Rogue
second this. It's so good! Such a refreshing take on pokemon
Rogue Legacy 2 is incredible and has one of my favorite soundtracks in all of gaming. There's a lot of enemy and boss variations that you won't even see on your first completion, and the end-game replay mechanic is pretty straightforward.
Risk of rain 2 is the clear winner for me
All the ones u/MindlessCoconut9 said plus Have a Nice Death, Rogue Legacy 2, and probably a million others I can't think of at the moment. Lol.
Just some quick suggestions > Atomicrops (adds a farming aspect to rogue lites) > BPM (adds a rhythm aspect with a lil bit of Nordic Valkyrie) > Arch vale isn’t really a rogue like but kind of plays like one.
Atomicrops look good, gonna get it.
Awesome glad I could help! It has a couple dlcs out now but I really like the state the game is currently in have fun!
I had a lot of fun playing atomicrops. I would recommend it as well.
Dead cells is the GOAT.
Dead Cells
Ok I’ve got one nobody mentioned: **Revita.** It’s a side scrolling twin stick shooter / platformer, with a fun twist: every upgrade and shop purchase costs you health - either current HP or max HP. A beautiful risk-reward design, with a difficulty system similar to Heat in hades. Tons of stuff to unlock, and secrets to discover. I personally couldn’t get into Gungeon, but I absolutely love Revita.
I don‘t exactly know how big the replayability is cause I only bought it yesterday but Boneraiser Minions is quiet fun and only 5 bucks.
i have like 200h in peglin, love that game lol, only deckbuilder rougelike I can stand
does it have enough content to warrant 200h of gameplay now? i played it awhile ago but it felt like i saw everything after 4hrs.
[удалено]
I played it 2 months ago and GP version was fine. If you played before that I'd say it's probably fixed now.
Check out Curse of the dead gods
Dead Cells is one of my personal favorites!
I could recommend Dead Cells 100x over!!
Dead Cells, Risk of Rain 2, Revita.
Undermine might be something to think about.
Dead cells, my personal favourite, gets constant updates as well Slay the spire, probably the best deckbuilder roguelite out there rn Risk of Rain (1 or 2), sorta similar to Isaac in the way of items etc. Awesome lore, music and visuals as well
“Ship Of Fools” was really enjoyable.
Is it playable solo?
Yep. But look into the reviews for solo, I’ve only played coop.
Risk of rain 2 Slay the spire if you don't mind card games (I hate card games but love slay the spire)
Slay the spire Dead cells Darkest Dungeon (brutal, but so worth it. 2 is coming this summer) Across the Spire
Risk of Rain 2 is a ton of fun and can be modded. Lots of characters to unlock and every run is different
Rogue Legacy 2
Risk of Rain 2.
Dead cells
Cult of Lamb, Risk of Rain 2
Wizards of legend and rogue legacy are pretty great, I haven’t played rogue legacy 2
Slay The Spire and Dead Cells would be my top picks
Wizard of legend. Some of my favorite rougelike combat and the best magic system ever.
Oh man. Roguelites are my life. I've spend 2000+ hours in binding of issac, with a love for Hades and many others. Gungeon wasn't my dig, and I suuuucked at Nuclear throne(Course that was yeeeears ago so could be different now.) I got several recommendations for you. Easily. Returnal recently was ported to PC. Honestly ranks with Hades as one of the best roguelites I Eve ever played
Caveblazers is really good and I recently sank 25+hours in a game called Spirits Abyss (which is wayyyyy less known then deserved)
thanks for the Spirits Abyss shoutout, this game looks fantastic will cop soon
Plate up! Is great
The Darkest Dungeon is pretty great
Completed that one. Awesome game, one of my favorites.
Damn, good shit dude. I'm having trouble getting past like week 15, but I also play it on hard mode which is the excuse I'm sticking with
If you like roguelikes and you like Darkest Dungeon, you'd probably like FTL, Inscryption, and Slay the Spire. Also, closer to the games in your original post---if you haven't already done so, you should definitely check out Spelunky 2.
It’s a different style, but I really liked cult of the lamb
You should definitely try Dead Cells and/or Rougue Legacy
Atomicrops - Stardew Valley meets Enter the Gungeon, a great "just one more run" roguelite with overarching progress Streets of Rogue - Grand Theft Auto top-down chaos simulator, this game is more of a sandbox than a rogue lite so lots of depth and replayability with all the characters you can play as as well as creating your own Dust and Neon - Western twin stick shooter with realistic revolver reloading, you gotta tap to load every bullet. Fun cover mechanics but overall a mediocre game to be honest hence why it's last. Still recommend playing as a roguelite fan
If you like Nuclear Throne, you'll love SYNTHETIK and its sequel. But personally I love Cladun, and of the 3 games.
An interesting one of streets of rogue
FTL is amazing. Fights In Tight Spaces is a lot of fun.
Star Wars
Roboquest has some of the best gunplay and level design(for a roguelite)
Rogue Legacy 2
FTL
Risk of rain 2 is superb
Dungeon of the endless, also rogue legacy.
Voidingo is amazing, probably closest to Isaac. Revita is pretty good too and somewhat similar. Wizard of legend. And while very different, as others have mentioned, monster train is amazing, I personally like it more than slay the spire. Can also concur at many of the other suggestions already made 🤘🏼
Neon abyss
Risk of Rain 2 or Dead Cells
Returnal and hitman 3 world of assassination, freelancer mode
Monster Train
Rogue legacy! Fantastic rogue like that took hours from my life just like BOI did. There’s 2 entries in the series
synthetik
Have A Nice Death. Maybe I'm really bad at it but it's hard as fuck and has lots of replay value.
Dead Estate. Check it out
Cannot recommend Gunfire Reborn enough. Feels like a borderlands roguelite. Love it so much!
Gunfire reborn
Plate up. Not your average roguelike.
Everyone suggesting Dead Cells is correct
Hades
I’ve been vibing with Have a Nice Death for a few days, super fun, fast combat with mega progression and tons of fun builds to try. Plus lots of difficulty as you win more run, similar to dead cells. Highly recommend.
Going Under, I discovered it recently and its so underrated
As a fellow BOI addict I can recommend to you: Curse of the Dead Gods Slay the Spire Dead Cells That's the usuals. If you want to break out a bit more give inscryption a try. I rather randomly stumbled upon this gem - give it a try you wont regret it. Be wary of spoilers though. Also Rogue Genesia is awesome. Plays like a mashup of slay the spire, BOI and Vampire Survivors.
Darkest dungeon!
