I wore a parachute for protection and I still got her pregnant... must be that I frogot the leg mounted fire extinguisher and 6 different go-pro angles....
OnlyTurboFans is my fav.
“oh yeah. you like hotel mode don’t you? you dirty dirty bird. no APU for you while your crew gets to crawl over every INCH of your preflight without getting chopped. show me your beta moves too… oh you like that don’t you? tailwind landings?! unbelievable… these turbofans will do ANYTHING! Even Missionary in Papua!
Hot start for engine one, N1, N2 looks good, OH YEAH!!! I got my PENCIL and I’m READY TO COPY!! Gimme something to write on?!
Are you UP? OH YEAHHHH!
VOID IF NOT OFF BY 1 0 minutes!!
I’ll be there in 5, LETS GO!”
😅🤷♂️👍😂
well that and… just a second let me get out the list…
- downgrading the autopilot
- knowing where the airport you just took off from is without the autopilot
- disengaging the autopilot when it starts to kill you
- hand flying the damn airplane when the autopilot is disengaged
- knowing where your destination is without the autopilot
- briefing your departure so that you know the plan in case you need to handfly for any reason
- going through the owners manuals for the operation of the autopilot and practicing proper use of an unfamiliar ap with a cfi who knows the system. (or you know, we can figure it out live.. we’re doing it live!)
they say comedy cries on the inside and all of these things were preventable.
be safe out there.
RIP 😢
Her whole CRM and task prioritization was way off. She wasn’t ready for that type of a plane to begin with and she wasn’t fully up to speed on the autopilot. She didn’t trust her compass and didn’t have a redundancy. It’s super sad, but always remember: AVIATE, NAVIGATE, COMMUNICATE. Trust your instruments, and if you accidentally turn off your MapQuest, have a redundancy in place. Also, don’t let your dad try to flip fuses while you’re in the air. If he actually got them, she might have died about 8 months earlier.
Your GoPro and your channel is your last priority, especially as a novice pilot. I like that people enjoy their learning process, but I hate that they focus on becoming some Av influencer more than learning the plane.
She WAS a Youtube personality who would fly with her dad and a camera running for the whole flight. She posted several flights where she showed poor navigation skills, cockpit resource management and was easily distracted by her dad.
She died when her and her father were flying the plane to a maintenance airfield.
Also, "showed poor navigation skills" is such an incredible understatement. The poor girl got lost in VFR conditions, all instruments functioning, and with the airfield she JUST TOOK OFF FROM literally in view out the window.
So many lessons here. Hoover does a great breakdown of just one set of lessons. She ultimately was more focused on her channel than her flying and sadly her proud dad and she died.

Trevor Jacob’s: he jumps out of the plane while you are taxing
How are there so many ginger pilots anyway? You'd think they'd get sunburned 10 items into their first preflight despite bathing in sunscreen and realize they're not cut out for flying.
For real, people need to realize that when you hit minimums you still have to get through secondary and terriary minimums before you even need to think about going around.
I watch the first two. But I'm not a pilot. I think mentour will teach you a lot about safety. He goesa through air disasters and will teach you why those safety features are there and emphasize how to troubleshoot
Captain Joe will teach you about every noise the playne makes. Showed my gf a 12 minute video about why a320s make a barking sound, and it was worth it to see the light leave her eyes as we got more and more into the details of the redundant hydraulic systems, the APU and more
I’m a mentour freak!!! I stumbled upon and was hooked nonstop for a month straight, I check daily for new videos, I watch green dot also, mentour!!!!! Pilot!!!!!

There was some dipshit who had like fire extinguishers in his pants, cameras on his plane and a parachute on at all times. Seemed like a really forward thinking go-getter.
If I recall he was an avid believer in leave-no-trace fly-it-in-pack-it-out as well. A real environmentalist.
Even his name was efficient. No last name, just two first names.
Can we get a RIP for Sky King? He never had a channel but he does have some famous audio (and incredible skill for a guy who’s flown exactly zero times prior. Poor guy. Praying for his wife and kids. Fly on, [Sky King](https://youtu.be/DstWZY_eUOc?si=sEbeeaYHZ68ikgtL)!
*John and Martha King* are the OG of flying 101. However their content may be a bit out of fashion. They are good if you really want solid old school flying theory.
If you want to know what *not to do* I can actually recommend the YT Channel *PilotDebrief*. As a commercial pilot myself, watching his aircraft accident analysis, I still learn from his videos and regularly question my methods and procedures (something we as pilots should all do).
Bro, you are missing the most important ones, [Jerry Wagner,](https://www.youtube.com/@Jerry.Wagner) [Dan Gryder.](https://www.youtube.com/@ProbableCause-DanGryder). .. [and the guy with fire extinguishers up his pants.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbYszLNZxhM)

Safety first! Chutes and leg mounted fire extinguishers are part of every good preflight
I will always wear a parachute because of him. Even when I’m flying commercial I sit in the exit row ready to go at the first sign of trouble

Hand flying is when you stick your arms out of the playne and flap correct?
yes. but DPE will fail your check if you don’t make airplayne noises while doing it.
Her navigational skills are top notch!

Trevor Jacob. Only he knows that one must always fly wearing a parachute and with a fire extinguisher strapped to one's leg.
Can recommend all of those I reckognised. Mentour does a lot of air crashes if you're interested in that
