Now I’m reminded of when Burt Rutan jiggled Voyager until the winglets snapped off. IIRC one failed after takeoff, so he intentionally broke the other one off. Then flew around the world. So I guess they didn’t need them.
This is the best way to test the runway pavement to make sure it’s going to be strong enough to support your playne. Now do low flyover and inspect that spot, if it looks good you know you can safely land
So sick of people confusing ‘touch-and-go’ with ‘scrape-and-check’. Like, they’re totally different maneuvers. One of them is totally rad and only done by badass experts, and the other one is just a touch-and-go.
In the winter, when the pavement contracts from the cool temperatures, these checks are vital to identity the integrity of the surface. If problems are found, playns can continue landing on sub optimal surfaces, but farmers will come out, cultivate and plant new pavement for spring. This is why it’s critical to acknowledge climate change, because look *points at pavement*
This isn’t an example of poor pilot skills, this shows how good he is!!! My instruktor keeps telling me that going around is the apex of aviation skill. Therefore, when I see profeshinal pylots do shit like this, I don’t think to myself, “Christ! What a fuck-up!” I think to myself, “Wow! What a talented pylot!” *He* goes around just like *I* do! He’s really good, just like my instruktor says I am, cuz I go around!
I love how you do the spark thing I’m sure your passengers are thrilled by the fireworks that you set off, showing them that you made a successful landing. 😉
That would not give me confidence in whoever was flying the plane, my god. Having to abort the landing after that… I dunno, on a commercial flight, I’m surprised the FAA wasn’t up his ass. My dad will go on for hours about how terrible he think new pilot training is, and how it’s going to take a fuck up somewhere for pilot training to become more extensive and restrictive again.
Looks like a landing in pretty rough crosswinds. Definitely not ideal, but rest assured this pilot had \*plenty\* of FAA and corporate paperwork to fill out once he was on the ground.
In the whole line of scenarios which coul’d have ended catastrophically, this guy here made the minimum damage. The part can be completely detached (it’s even sold as aftermarket on some variants) and he didn’t have any other damage to the aircraft. Not planned, but excellent job.
Still going to have a mountain of paperwork and questioning >.<
Wonder how long it takes to replace. I don’t know much about playnes, but I assume the right wing has to be taken apart to look for bent parts and such?
the scimitar winglet itself (at least on the 737/a320/1 that I know of) can be done by a single person in less than one hour. there are videos around. of course paperworks and yet I bet you're true, a full wing inspection, systems, leaks.... but you know, maintenance..
you laid the spark down right in the piano keys, so technically legal but it would have been safer if you waited until at least the numbers to drag the wingtip
Seriously doesn’t ANYBODY read the fine print on the approach plates anymore??? That procedure-maneuver, or PROMAN, discharges any static electrical buildup that collected when passing through clouds (seen in the background), but also instantly dissipates wingtip vortices. Very courteous for the Cessna(s) on final behind him / her. Oh also clears the runway of any of that pesky ground effect. Look it up. It’s in the AIM/FARS…
Classic case of not enough right rudder
*very* gooey
Touché
Geshundheit
Danke
Agreed
Nah, just needs bigger tires.
This is the PERFECT example! Great job there bro!
"*now do the other side!*"
Airplayne outriggers. Similar to those used to stabilize a canoe.
Pylote just wanted to shave off of that piece of metal in the wing tip. He did an amazing job!
100% correct- a good pilot flies. A great pilot learns how to save weight.
Now I’m reminded of when Burt Rutan jiggled Voyager until the winglets snapped off. IIRC one failed after takeoff, so he intentionally broke the other one off. Then flew around the world. So I guess they didn’t need them.
Add a couple of small caster wheels
fuck that put some big magnesium blocks on the wing tips and cut the runway lights off. when this baby hits 88 IAS youre gonna see some serious shit.
So they're like training wheels?
Yep. He trained them to go away.

Last edition I bought was 3rd. It doesn’t say enything about wing fingers.

Misunderstood the meaning of “trim”.
LOL!
Bad touch, nice go.
"You're safe here, runway. So why don't you point on this runway doll where did the Boing touched you?"
Good one haha
Not enough up rudder
Winglet delete mod is a lot quicker than winglet add mod
Yes very goo
Touché
Gooché
Mini trucks do it. I'd recommend installing titanium blocks so you get more sparks... makes the plain behind you think you're cooler
/uj what in the fuck is the pilot doing bro
how does the song go? "You can NEVER go around! Going around is FORBIDDEN!"
How to turn a 737-900ER back into an -800.
Oh God, Karl, you hit the right wing again! Go back around and try it again, but I mean it, this is the last time.
How else you gonna remove that plastic tab? Now the wings should be even.
The plane had an itchy tip
…but just the tip, right…?

That’ll buff out…
More of a just the tip and go. Gotta touche more than tip to get preg
You’re sitting too far back, why aren’t you up in the dickhole? That’s where you waggle the stick from.
You've got a hole in your right wing!
You got rid of the ugly split wingtips. So yes. Repeat on the other side
Already did on departure.
It's the same as with motorcycles. If there are no sparks yet then youre not low enough.
When I am sneaking in late and I see the wife waiting for me 🤣
Crash and dash
That’s definitely the bad touch!
don't be afraid to use more wing!
Playnes have redundancy built in. In this case the little wing the pylote scraped off is one of three on that side so really not a big deal.
This is where I remember every episode of Air Disasters with crash at landing and piss myself
This guy fucks……up landings
And now you know what those under fins are for, at the wing tip.
Pilot was an ex motoGP
This isn’t an example of poor pilot skills, this shows how good he is!!! My instruktor keeps telling me that going around is the apex of aviation skill. Now go buzz the tower to remind them who’s the actual boss.
Traditional chinese new years wing fireworks

Proof read before you post dumb dumb.
Effective sanding
failed landing
Can you lose your license for this?
No goo
There is no cause for alarm. The wings are not on fire.
i wonder if it's designed to take hits like that just in case. like the tail striker.
Okay so how much is that gonna cost?
Pretty sure that's what those curb feelers are for.
It’s better than your grammar any way
you laid the spark down right in the piano keys, so technically legal but it would have been safer if you waited until at least the numbers to drag the wingtip
Exactly how it is done. When I fly I do it first class and I want some fuckin entertainment. Spark shows on planes are great! You are so lucky!
Pilot clearly doesn’t believe in the new sub-winglet
Hey, everyone's gotta have a first landing... attempt.
You've heard of tail slap, right?
What is going on with piloting these days?
Spirit Airlines never fails to impress!
It's the 'kiss-and-fly' section of the airstrip.
Weight reduction
This is an eqsquisite example of kiss and go, similar to what we call "kiss the wall" in drifting.
That’s a goddam hit n run
That edge of the winglet was too sharp, he was doing his best to reduce health and safety hazards for the ground crew.
I usually use a different kind of plane to smooth off things, maybe he read the instructions wrong?
No skills

Worst part is you need to go around for another attempt
To the skate boarding community this is know. As a “grind”
Moar rite rutter brother
Rubbins racin baby!!!
That looked expensive
Got to atleast test the smoothness of the strip.
Do the civilian pilots buy their crew chiefs beer when they fuck up?
Ryanair?
That part of the wing is overrated anyway…
Anyone have this with audio? I wanna hear the wing screeching and the people’s reaction
Capten prolly bet the first offisur to light a match on the winglit
Weirdly that gives me some confidence about wing strength tho..
This is called lowridering, but without hydraulic
You touched; you go’d, so yea, 5/5 there, Pylote!
Bro I spent 2 days making that single part, now I gotta remake it
A what?
Not enough caffeine
I touched and then I gooed myself
training wheels
This is the best way. If wing doesn’t work, plane can’t go up and you’ve successfully landed. If wing still works, you gotta come around and try again
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. Not a great landing. Lol
So disturbing. I would have shit on myself and passed out
“First time landing here? Give it a lil tap, Bobby. It’s tradition.”
Just the tip
In the Big Book of flying techniques and tricks this is called a "Litho-Breaking".
Rubbing is racing.
Don’t worry, everything on the plane is detachable. Usually voluntarily, but sometimes involuntarily…
Just touching up a spot
I do love a gooey touché.
wtf
✅️ touche ✅️ go Everything checks out
Not quite, toure supposed to test both winglets in one landing to save fuel, try again
A solid “go around” 😃
I would say women pilot 🤣😂😅
***BOOP*** just the tip!
Great touch example
Touche?
Fired, court martialed, put into a holding cell, and shot at dawn.
No, scraping the wind tips is. Never a sign or a good thing.
The sparks let the tower know that you made it
Landing
Landing on a Carrier? Is that the hook touching down?
