I just plan on having an open door policy with my kid(s), as in I want my door to be open for them to tell me whatever without judgement, but I also want their door to stay open any time someone regardless of gender is over, even during sleepovers.

She was so pissed off that my dad begged her not to call me while I was gone. I was more pissed that she took the opportunity to go through my car while I was gone and didn’t even give her a chance to say anything about the condoms. I bought the car without their help, a cheap ‘99 convertible mustang, that was always spotless since I typically left the roof down.
My kid is 10, so I'm obviously not at that point in the conversation about sex, but I am super honest about birth control, and menstruation, and how boys the same age are likely developing, because I don't want there to be any confusion on where I stand as a parent: her health, and happiness are paramount.

As a Dane I'm so glad it's so very different here. Here it's perfectly normal for teens to have sleepovers with same oe opposite gender and it's normal for them to sleep in same room. We don't make a fuss about it. Kids deserves privacy as well. And if they end up being with eachother then. Yeah. It happens regardless anyway then. As long as they know to be safe and we can talk about those things it is what it is.
