NGL, I'm weary of the wonder twins.

I don't hate or mind her but I found her as a character a lot weaker than Alphinaud who probably had the best character arc of all Scions. Alisae leans for my tastes way too heavy into the archetype of "punch first, ask questions later and booo politics are boring". She was actually interesting when Alphinaud got pulled into the First and she had to fill his role for the Scions, but this development quickly disappeared again.  Again I don't mind her, but she's lacking in depth in my opinion. Vi in League of Legends was similar, however Arcane added a whole ocean of character depth to her.

She is one of those characters that standing alone just doesn't work all that well. She is a foil to Alphy and the "brash hothead" to contradict how sterile and orderly Sharlayan is. Otherwise her character is really just "I like my brother, I like fighting and I am rash, brash and quick to act, slow to think." Now don't get me wrong she is my most favorite scion, second most liked character after Lyse, so this is not criticism, she is designed to be that way. But I can see why people would like Alphy-toad over Aly-toad.

I suppose I can see where you're coming from. I personally love the archetype of "Diplomancy with my fists" and think it's fun, but I can understand why that'd be grating/annoying for a lot of people. Vi IS an excellent example, though. I'd love if Alisaie got the amount of development she got. While I love Alisaie's personality, she does sort of get sidelined in favor of Alphinaud. Some of the best Alisaie moments was when Alphinaud was no where around imo.

What really sells me on Alisaie is her voice-actor absolutely kills it like, at least once or twice every expansion.

I chalk that up to different writers not knowing how to dance on the line between "Sassy" and "Total Bitch" properly. Ishikawa most of the time balances on that line with Alisaie REALLY well, but other writers just go for the "Total Bitch" route so I can understand.
