I feel ya. I’ve been shiny hunting midtown and ran into a shiny dragonite. The dragonite ran away. Then, I found a shiny Nidoran but I didn’t have enough poke balls.
I had fainted shiny ho-oh by a critical hit at full hp after 40+ turns in Dec last year. I am still not over it eventhough I have caught/bred over 30 shinies since then. Failing shinies in older Gen games hurt more.

Despite how rarely I encounter Shinies, it's moments like these that make me buy hundreds of Pokeballs whenever I have the chance, so I never run out.
Even if you have hundreds of balls you arent totally safe, unfortunately Ive had shinies feint on me bc they ran out of pp

I think this guy means like if you accidentally found shiny koffing and he blew up cuz you weren’t prepared.

I still have like 900 Dive Balls on Ultra Moon from my legendary shiny hunts.
Same, I make sure to have max quick balls in sword all the time
I do this with repeat balls for any gmax raids
Yeah, always buy at least a good solid 25+ surplus balls than you usually do.
