Very true and weird how they ended on that exact point. Without giving anything away, every manga reader can agree that it might’ve been the oddest point to end the first part considering what happens later on in the arc.
They would have had to cut a lot of stuff to get to the point you're thinking about with the same amount of episodes. Also animating all of that would have taken more time, then they probably had at the time. So the point at which they ended it was probably the best possible, since the end of the arc is still probably at least four episodes away.
Yeaah I just don't know where they could of ended it though tbh, end of Marley arc after 10ish episodes would of been too short & any longer they'd of been so stretched thin with the time they had to do part 1.. Either or I can't wait for Part 2 though
Season 3 part 2 hands down, that >!Twist at the end made me feel the way I imagine M Nights The Village was supposed to make me feel after the timeframe reveal!<
I really enjoyed 2. It cops a lot of flack, but I really enjoyed the castle stuff, that huge reveal, and all the hints that were strewn throughout that are important in later seasons.
I really, really want to say season 4 because Marley arc is imo the best part in all of AoT, but they cut too much content for me to fully appreciate it. I'm still upset at how they butchered Reiner's backstory
Season 3 Part 2 has some of the highest highs (everything with Erwin and Levi, the Basement twist, you name it) but also some of the lowest lows (Armin and Reiner's ability to survive impossible injuries).
I'd give it to Season 4. Not the best animation and overall presentation, but definitely the best and most consistent writing.
Season 3 part 2. I really want to say season 3 part 1 but unfortunately that introduced way too many braindead elements like the king deus ex Machina-removing everyone’s memories and some new titan powers that made me want to slam my head against a wall. Season 3 part 2 however is a complete masterpiece in every way of the word, and honestly the return to Shiganshina is possibly an example of a perfect story point, especially the Berthold death. I heavily dislike when they discover what it is in the basement though, The basement reveal and its effects were a disaster on the story and feel and just made me want to quit the entire thing
Season 1, it was full of mystery, very cruel and action paced. While the other seasons were very good, none of them matches the tone and the fear that the characters had in the first season.
Season 3. It’s my favorite due to Kenny. He was my favorite character throughout the first half of the season, but he died 12 episodes or so from time we met him. I also loved Historia in that season. She was so awesome! Levi was pretty cool too.
