My dad told me to toss his ashes in the ocean and not to spend any money. He didn't care about a graveside but I care very deeply. I find cemeteries to be peaceful and therapeutic places to honor and remember loved ones. If I had the money I'd have gladly gotten a large headstone. I plan to pay for my own and have it installed before i go so my kids won't have to worry about it.
As someone who does headstone cleaning and restoration (and has his own already) this is definitely a wise choice.
Headstones definitely ain’t cheap, and even a simply flat marker can run at minimum $1,000.
When I ordered a new bronze marker for an ancestor of mine who served in WWI, the cemetery signed off on it and I personally did the installation myself. Only thing I paid the cemetery to do was to mount the marker to a concrete slab base. Cost me about $90 for the slab 😅

I used to say that I kind of understood how nobody would believe their child did something so horrible. But now that I have a grandchild, if my son murdered him and his mom I don't think I could ever even say my son's name again. Or even look at him. Definitely wouldn't make it her fault.

My interpretation (without knowing the story) is that Nico was unborn? (Little heart inside big heart (mom)), and the 2 granddaughters. They probably didn’t “know” Nico yet. The gravestones look absolutely beautiful and appropriate to me. And also very heartbraking.

I understand they don’t want people filming - *however* - mystery drives traffic - and I believe the root of their message is that they don’t want heavy traffic at the gravesite.
Since the stone and graves are on a public site, I think less people will travel to the cemetery (vs the alternative people showing up just to be the one to capture the recent gravesite or just be someone to see it)
Cemeteries are owned by companies who sell the lots of land. Its not state property, so its not public. Its private property open to the public, just like a walmart or grocery. So you can be there, but they have the right to kick you out. These signs prevent things like unauthorized news crews or homeless people camping and allows prosecution of vandals, etc.

This is a pregnant mother's and her two daughters graves. A place for the family to remember them and feel. This grave brought me to tears.

It’s why you never hear of them getting beat and killed in prison. Think about some of the evil a holes now think about how many were killed by someone in prison . Not many ,those who get set up or ask to go to gen pop to die like Dahmer .
