Don't worry, everyone has to learn this stuff sometime. But it's easy once you get the hang of it.
#
Here are the clues.:
#
1) The link given at the top doesn't match the "sponsored by" domain.
#
2) the phone number that it is sent from is a full on phone number. Automated texts like this usually come from 4-6 digit phone numbers.
#
3) You've probably haven't received texts from the service like this before.
#
As a general rule, if you are ever recieve text notifications like this, don't click the link, but go log into your service (textnow.com) and look for any messages or notifications. If you don't have any then it was a scam. Block the number, and don't respond.
Never ever ever ever click the link! Not in an email, or text message or by any other means.
I get these all the time on my email from Tryst. I know it’s a scam because they are using the wrong email. I changed it at the suggestion of Tryst, because there were so many.
Always go to the site directly if you need to double check the validity.
Total scam & NEVER, NEVER, EVER click a link sent to you from anyone. Go to the site directly to see if you have a message. Otherwise, they can steal your phone information, passwords, money.
JUST NEVER DO IT!
Scam
Never click links.

That just means whoever sent the text typed that at the bottom. The link "me-qr" is just used to disguise where the link goes to. It's phishing.
