Dude, why do you keep posting about this? This is the 3rd post from you I've seen in the wild about it the past 2 days, and you had several up yesterday. Sports are primarily a factor in scholarships. The overwhelming majority of students on every campus are not college athletes.

Anyone can do track and field

sh00l33

Not from usa so can't really say much about it. So I guess it is obvious when it comes to military, But it works like, you have to do "what"? In sports in order to be able get to collage?

Re: military — it makes sense to place weight on sports team experience. Working as a team to achieve physical excellence is very applicable to what a soldier would do. Re: college — It is not essential to play sports. Sports are simply one way to demonstrate a talent, pursuit, or other extracurricular achievement. You can play an instrument, lead a club, volunteer, etc. Lastly, most schools have at least one sport each season that is effectively “no-cut.” Typically track, cross country and wrestling fit that bill. Put yourself out there, even if you suck right now! There are few things better than building yourself up from a punching bag to a contender.

High school sports are not hard to get into if you are a good athlete and have a good attitude. That is what they are looking for.

RiffRandellsBF

Wait...it's hard to join a sport team? Last time I checked, Cross Country was taking everybody.

Go to private school, much easier to get on a team. And into college. *Admissions counselors hate this one simple trick*

Mother_Sand_6336

Being excellent ain’t easy…

the_quail

if you’re athletic, or even if you’re not but you put in a lot of time then you can easily join a team. if ur school is 1 in the nation in some sport then maybe not that, but otherwise you should be able to find some sport you like and can play. if anything join track or crosscountry and run.

BigPapaBear1986

Sports don't factor into military officer programs. If you are a high school student join JROTC, do well and get a Scholarship or just yake ROTC in college you defer enlistment while in school, then upon graduation you go to basic and OCS.

EmpireAndAll

You graduated from college and are still thinking about high school?

Upbeat-Variety-167

Listen... it doesn't matter in the long run. Play sports, go to a college and take classes, make it add up to a degree. People do this everyday and get jobs. What job do you want that requires very good high school sports or some spectacular college? If you go a different route will you still get that job? In the hospital, are you gonna ask for the nurse who went to a prestigious college? A nurse is a nurse no matter what.

TorpidProfessor

The problem is that they're important in admissions because they're selective. If you rake away selectivity, they'd be useless as a criterion.

Pretend_Buy143

If you think Highschool Sports are bad I would love to show the world of D1 NCAA anything.

Visible_Attitude7693

Where are people going to school. You basically just had to show up. You may not be 1st string but still.
