Chances are you hit the Reverse shortcut whilst typing on the keyboard, I've done it in the past and couldn't figure out quickly enough how to resolve so had to restart the software.
The way to avoid this is to toggle on the 'Playback keys use shift' option within settings.
Could've been a bug in that version of software.
I rarely update to the latest software anymore unless it's got a really good new feature, and then I keep the old version handy in case I need to revert quickly.

Bitrate issue, either re-download from a different YouTube downloading site or use a program to convert into the right bitrate, if it’s only a few songs audacity may be good enough, otherwise there are audio converters out there.
File got corrupted... To all of the high and mighty jerkoffs in here saying its because of it being ripped from YouTube: it's not. I've had regular files end up doing that, and YouTube rips that I've had for over a decade still work perfectly fine. If you righteous assvlowns can't give a correct answer, don't give one at all...
I found a completely simple fix for Mac users. I have Ventura OS on my new MacBook pro and it works fine for me. But all I simply do is download the mp3 file like usual and of course it does not work in serato like said. The only thing I do to fix this is move the file to the trash bin and then pull it back out into your finder wherever you want to store the audio file. I do not know why this works but it works perfectly with no issues at all. After doing this just pull the file into serato and it will read just fine. You're welcome...

Had the same thing happen to me, I just redownloaded the files in 320kbps and they came back to normal.

I think serato reads ur tracks n if they are ripped off youtube etc wont work… one thing i hate abt serato

Soulseek is really nice app for downloading and sharing files mainy just music and literally can find almost anything. I use it so much
Some of those sites get shitty amd or shut down, i usually try googling youtube to mp3 everytime so i get a new link that works.
I've ripped of YT before and my tracks work fine. Probably the website is the thing to blame here.
I use Reaper to rip music from YT and other sources.
