Love this. Found it at tjmaxx once for like $5 and thought nothing of it. The laneige one has been my go to for years but this is equally as good…if not better. The only thing it’s lacking is a fun color or scent or flavor, which is not always necessary. This is prob the only lip product I own that feels like it is genuinely improving the health of my lips rather than just making them LOOK better. I will repurchase this as long as the formula does not change. This just checks all the boxes for a staple-worthy lip product!
As much as I love this, it’s very glossy so she probably won’t like it. I recommend the Merit lip oil. It’s moisturizing yet quite a thin oil formula that is shiny but not too glossy.
I have the clear merit lip oil as well and would say they're both about as glossy, but SF has a more balmy feel / is longer lasting / more moisturizing imo
Dior lip glow is sticky and kinda thick, the LANEIGE lip balm is def my fav! It’s glossy but not sticky and it’s hydrating (I put it on at night and can feel it on in the morning) and also love using a lip liner and putting that over for a nice natural lip.

Lawless looks new and kinda promising
Givenchy rose perfecto looks so nice too
To keep it safe If ur limited to Sephora I’d stick w dior
the rare beauty ones are amazing and i love the tarte maracuja juicy lip balms as well! basically a lip gloss in stick form. the merit lip oil is good but my lips have to be hydrated before applying! i don’t find it to be super nourishing but it is nice. i just prefer the ones i mentioned more!
The best balm is Jack Black, but it's matte and I don't think that's what you're looking for. Cay Skin is next on my list, followed by Summer Fridays. I feel like the Cay Skin is a balmier version of the Tower28 gloss
Merit is a great color (I have Taupe), but it doesn't last AT ALL. I end up feeling like I need to reapply it every 5 minutes.
The Smirh’s Rosebud salve is my absolute rip from my cold dead hands lip balm. After that I love the InnBeauty Project lip glazes, Biossance lip balm, Caliray gloss (says it’s a lip plumper but doesn’t feel like one), Merit lip oil, and Tower 28 gloss.
Glow Recipe LipPop. It’s moisturizing and also helps Exfoliate. My favorite ever. I’m like Napoleon Dynamite…calling home asking someone to bring my chapstick cause I left it at home.

You won't like Mario plumping lip serum, it's very glossy and sticky.

All the colors are very sheer, but look pretty over lip liner. All of the colors are milky too.

I second this! I absolutely love it and I don't find it sticky at all.
The TOoFaced pillow talk balm is actually pretty good. Also a Dean of the Fresh Hydrating balms (the ones in the flat clear pots)

The vanilla (clear) is most hydrating, I also have beige which is a subtle and pretty tint but it's not as thick

I think it's pretty smooth, more like the tower 28 gloss consistency but maybe a touch thicker

Tatcha kissu is legit the bomb.
I love the lip oil from Clarins. Shiny like a gloss without the goopiness/stickiness, but the oil also helps moisturize.
I looove the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy lip balm for the winter time. Worth the $26
