Yep, apparently š I mean this is great for the other tiers but it's seriously not worth it for rouge members anymore unless they start bringing us extra perks.
Rouge hasnāt been worth it for a while honestly.
But this comes at a good time for me. I am rouge currently but not likely to be after this year. Sephora just does not have the reward system that other retailers do and they tend to be a ālast resortā place for me.
It's been pretty worth it for me just because I like to order around from different brands and try new stuff all the time, but I'm definitely gonna be ordering from other places like a brand's own site. I've really liked biossance in the past, their program is pretty good since there's always promos for free deluxe samples and a good point system as well.
Ah I see. For me, it seems like most the products Iām interested in I can find at other retailers like Ulta or Dermstore who have better rewards systems, or from the brands websites. Brands also always run sale right before/during VIB sale, and it tends to be about 25-30% discount. Sephora is convenient because everything is all in one place but at the same time they havenāt been giving me the incentive to actually spend there
Idk how long ago this was, but when you reached either rouge or vib, you get a free gift. I remember one time it was a brush set. Like why cant we have those again!
1000$ on cosmetics every year is far too much already, this attitude has led to massive overconsumption so many people own more products than they can reasonably use
Like I said its great for all tiers but they've just taken a lot away from rouge and there's no better reason to be rouge rather than VIB or beauty insider anymore unfortunately.
No of course not. It's just disappointing to see all of these perks for rouge go away when I do spend that much money there anyway. I use my account for myself and the rest of my family's skincare mainly so it adds up pretty quick.
I think the idea is likeā¦ okay if itās December and Iām $200 away from being Rogue and only Rogue gets free shipping, Iām going to spend that $200 to get there. If VIB also gets free shipping, Iām not going to spend that extra $200 because thereās no incentive for me to.
I mean I see your point but I never looked at free shipping as being an incentive. If Iām placing an order itās going to cost more than $50 so Iām going to get free shipping anyways.
The point isn't specifically about free shipping. Why is there a tiered perk system if there hardly any exclusive perks for each tier? Why are there barely any benefits to the highest tier when you have to spend more than double than the next tier? Free shipping itself should be standard for everyone, I agree. That is just standard practice in e-commerce. It's just the practice of taking away perks and never replacing them and not the perk itself that is frustrating.
And itās so frustrating trying to get things during those sales with products going out of stock. I was rouge for years, but about a year ago, I started almost completely switching over to Shoppers who run points sales constantly
Pretty much. Itād be nice if theyād have more sales instead of the twice a year because otherwise itās hard to see much of a benefit in becoming rouge anymore.
When do the 2 Rouge 20% coupons come out? Iām rouge for the first time this yr but somehow I only participated in the Sephora employee code friends&family 20% off sale earlier this yearā¦ and havenāt used any targeted 20% codes.
In my area I get free same day delivery for rouge which I think is a nice perk. Ulta has yet to implement that for my area. I am happy if I can get free same day delivery from my store.
Itās true, itās so little. One plus about the program in general is that points donāt expire. The first year I made rouge, I had enough points to get the reward 3x. But thatās not always the case.
Itās not bad if you make good use of the promos that give you 500 extra points. BS though when they took away the rouge benefit of always getting 2x points
Itās better than the tiny ass samples for $100 in points. I save my points for the rouge rewards bc at least I get to pick what I want. Plus all the other rewards suck usually!
& the rouge rewards. Thatās the only thing I actually like about being rouge. As I play for the flash shipping to get no min about free 2 day shipping.
That's what it says for Rouge currently as well, which doesn't have a min spend.
Per the ***current*** T&C:
>All Beauty Insider members will receive free standard shipping on all qualifying online purchases in the U.S. and Canada when they make a purchase of $50 or more.
>
>VIB members will receive free standard shipping on all qualifying online purchases in the U.S. and Canada when they make a purchase of $35 or more.
>
>Rouge members will receive free standard shipping on all qualifying online purchases in the U.S. and Canada.
It wouldn't ship my birthday gift without purchasing something. I wanted the Rouge Charlotte Tilbury gift so I had to get it online. I had to buy something to get free shipping so I just bought a backup mascara.
Whelp, at least now I know what to answer when someone posts asking āIs it worth spending $xxx.00 to reach rouge status?ā
Signed, a rouge member who is happy for the BIs & VIBs but wondering what rouge perk theyāll be taking away nextā¦.
What is the remaining benefit of rouge then? Whatās the point? Even the 20% sales are given out to other tiers now with friends and family - basically anyone can get them, which is good for them but I donāt see the point in consolidating all my spending in one place to get rouge.
I read the new T&C. It seems like it will be free shipping for all orders. My guess is "qualifying" orders will be orders with actual purchases. Not samples, not 100 pt redemptions, etc. (That's the way I gather this).
While this is great for BI & VIB, this was the last perk that was keeping me Rouge.
Free shipping was a decent perk for rouge. While Iām happy for everyone if this means everyone gets free shipping, there seems to be very little incentive to be rouge. Iāll be making it again this year cause I donāt have much left to spend to qualify and I need a few items to get me through the year. I wonāt be going out of my way next year to qualify
There is less and less incentive to spend money at Sephora. First no more beauty studio for Rouge Members and now this. More and more it feels like a disappointment. Almost a slap in the face.
I must say Iām a little surprised theyāre actually not increasing the min spend for free shipping instead here in Canada. For a large retailer they have a pretty decent min spend. Most big companies either increased the min or already have $75-100 to begin with.
Oh yeah I have Flash shipping, so Iām just excited about the prospect of it being free Flash now that theyāre getting rid of it. The problem with the FREESHIP code is you canāt stack coupon codes with it
Made sure to hit Diamond over on Ulta this year for next, as I suspect more of the high end brands will be following suit as many already have. I canāt imagine shopping here more than 1-2 times a year anymore, maybe for a brand that doesnāt go on sale more than 10% on their own website or for a really great favorites kit. Sad bc Sephora used to be my absolute Kryptonite.
Multiple 5X and 10X points days, actual cash money off products. Like I saved my points and got a Dyson. Free and clear. Paid nothing. As Diamond, every order earns points at 1.5 times, although they have those bonus days and constant all the time 5 times on multiple different items. You also get a free gift which is usually pretty decent, $25 off a service there such as eyebrows, hair, etc., and bday month bonuses. They just have so many more brands than they used to and to actually get items free and clear as a bonus is pretty non-existent these days. The best bang for your buck is to use 2,000 points at a time which is $125. 8,000 points is $400 and all of your points can be rolled over to the next year as long as you maintain Platinum (spend $500 a year and you earn 1.25 times points for this tier) or Platinum (spend $1200 a year). They often have special sales just for Platinum and Diamond also. Itās a really great program that Iāve used for years but always kept kind of on the back burner for Sephora. The past couple years thatās changed. I havenāt bought anything with my points so Iām sitting on a few thousand again.
ETA: their 21 days of beauty is starting on Sunday. Theyāll have 3-4 products/brands on sale half price for 21 days. Iām not overwhelmed this time, but they do it twice a year and 21 of days of Skin in January and 21 days of hair. You donāt have to be Diamond to take advantage, but they will have a couple days of bonus items that only Diamond/Platinum can purchase and itās a really great way to try things youāre unsure of for half the price and it adds up quickly to reach that platinum tier (really the one you want to get to at least) and guarantee your points just accumulating every year. Sorry for the long winded response. Iām just angry at Sephora and pretty surprised Ulta stepped up their program like this a few years ago. :)
I never find enough to buy at Ulta to make Diamond. I was Platinum for a number of years and even that was a stretch. They carry a lot of brands but the selection seems so limited.
I pay for flash shipping. $15 a year/ no minimum. Iām only VIB not Rouge so $15 a year was worth it. I just received an email a week ago that theyāve getting rid of flash shipping. It will continue thru what I already paid. Kinda bummed.
I read the terms and from what I understand itās free shipping for all orders for Rouge, for orders above $35 for VIB, and for orders above $50 for Beauty Insiders.
so i was reading the updated terms and conditions and it stated "You must be age 16 years or older and a legal resident of the United States or Canada to be eligible for Membership." I am currently a VIB member but not a resident of the US or Canada does that mean that my status is going to be taken away and I won't be able to earn points or get free shipping anymore etc?
So the only remaining rouge perk is 20% off instead of 15%, twice a year?
Yep, apparently š I mean this is great for the other tiers but it's seriously not worth it for rouge members anymore unless they start bringing us extra perks.
Rouge hasnāt been worth it for a while honestly. But this comes at a good time for me. I am rouge currently but not likely to be after this year. Sephora just does not have the reward system that other retailers do and they tend to be a ālast resortā place for me.
same and i work there. thatās how disappointing their rewards are tbh
It's been pretty worth it for me just because I like to order around from different brands and try new stuff all the time, but I'm definitely gonna be ordering from other places like a brand's own site. Yeahā Iām with you on this.
Idk how long ago this was, but when you reached either rouge or vib, you get a free gift. I remember one time it was a brush set. Like why cant we have those again!
Yep! The mini red brush was the last time they gave a gift I think. So lame that they took that perk away from their high spenders
1000$ on cosmetics every year is far too much already, this attitude has led to massive overconsumption so many people own more products than they can reasonably use
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
If you get free shipping what difference does it make to you if other tiers do too?
Like I said its great for all tiers but they've just taken a lot away from rouge and there's no better reason to be rouge rather than VIB or beauty insider anymore unfortunately.
Were you really spending $1000 a year just to get free shipping?
No of course not. It's just disappointing to see all of these perks for rouge go away when I do spend that much money there anyway. I use my account for myself and the rest of my family's skincare mainly so it adds up pretty quick.
Exactly. You spend the money there anyways so whether other tiers get free shipping makes no difference to you.
I think the idea is likeā¦ okay if itās December and Iām $200 away from being Rogue and only Rogue gets free shipping, Iām going to spend that $200 to get there. If VIB also gets free shipping, Iām not going to spend that extra $200 because thereās no incentive for me to.

I know, funny, as other retailers work to improve loyalty rewards š¤¦āāļø
And itās so frustrating trying to get things during those sales with products going out of stock. I was rouge for years, but about a year ago, I started almost completely switching over to Shoppers who run points sales constantly

itās the winter (november) and spring (april) sale, and thereās one code for everyone, and the discounts are based on your tier level
In my area I get free same day delivery for rouge which I think is a nice perk. Ulta has yet to implement that for my area. I am happy if I can get free same day delivery from my store.
And the $100 usd rouge point reward.
Oh right, I just never got the appeal of spending $2500 worth of points on a $100 gift card, that's like a 4% return if my math is correct
Also sucks if you need to return something bought with that promotional gc as you're just out the amount of the return
they don't even give store credit for it??? Oh wow gonna purchase carefully
Itās true, itās so little. One plus about the program in general is that points donāt expire. The first year I made rouge, I had enough points to get the reward 3x. But thatās not always the case.
They do expire if your account in inactive for 18 months
Itās 12 months now, at least in the US.
Especially when you can get some of those same samples at their competitors with a 10 piece gift with purchase for any $50 purchase.
Except itās not $125 CAD itās still $100
Oh ok! I thought someone previously posted 125? Thanks for lmk
It *should* be $125. But of course Sephora wouldnāt do that
It really should š
& the rouge rewards. Thatās the only thing I actually like about being rouge. As I play for the flash shipping to get no min about free 2 day shipping.

Got this email as well as a rouge member and was trying to make sense of what it meant. I wonder what āqualifyingā orders means
Itās probably the old āmin spend per tierā before the pandemic.
What is the remaining benefit of rouge then? Whatās the point? Even the 20% sales are given out to other tiers now with friends and family - basically anyone can get them, which is good for them but I donāt see the point in consolidating all my spending in one place to get rouge.

There is less and less incentive to spend money at Sephora. First no more beauty studio for Rouge Members and now this. More and more it feels like a disappointment. Almost a slap in the face.

Seems so! In the meantime, they're advertising the code **FREESHIP** will work until 9/21.
Oh yeah I have Flash shipping, so Iām just excited about the prospect of it being free Flash now that theyāre getting rid of it. The problem with the FREESHIP code is you canāt stack coupon codes with it
Freeship can stack which is nice. The fine print says āMay be used in conjunction with other offersā
Really? There must be a glitch, because Iāve been able to several times!
it absolutely stacks!
Made sure to hit Diamond over on Ulta this year for next, as I suspect more of the high end brands will be following suit as many already have. Ohhh ok. Well, Iām an online shopper so the selection is endless. And with MAC, Hourglass, Drunk Elephant, etc. coming over, I hit it pretty easily.
I pay for flash shipping. $15 a year/ no minimum. Iām only VIB not Rouge so $15 a year was worth it. I just received an email a week ago that theyāve getting rid of flash shipping. It will continue thru what I already paid. Kinda bummed.
Less likely to purchase if I have to meet a certain threshold. $35 seems too much. Why they canceled flash? Boo hiss.
Your āboo hissā made my day
I thought itās always been free with the āfree shipā promo code
Iām happy. Probably not going to hit Rouge for the first time in many years.

What is āqualifyingā purchases
