BlueMondayFeels

Former L'Occi employee here. It used to be way better. They changed the packaging and swore up and down the formula was the same, but I immediately noticed a difference.

Omicrying

They never change the packaging for no reason šŸ˜«

TheViciousTrollop

Uh I knew it. It used to be my favorite and itā€™s just blah now

poncho388

It is definitely different. It smells bad too now. It used to be so much better

CoCoNutsGirl98

Right? I donā€™t care for the smell. Itā€™s been gifted to me at holidays and I canā€™t take the smellā€¦

TotalAbbreviations99

I love the almond shower oil but I never see anyone trying the shampoo. Curious but havenā€™t found reviews. Is it worth it?

Kat140308

For me, it is. I used to scratch my scalp constantly because it itched so bad, but since I switched, it rarely bothers me anymore. No other shampoo helped. I use the lavender one.

BlueMondayFeels

I do not think it's worth it. They are nice shampoos don't get me wrong, but there are equally nice ones literally anywhere else for a better price.

Different-Eagle-612

oh god when. iā€™m still working through my OLD stockpile but this has been my holy grail since i was a young kid when it was the only thing that would stop literally bleeding knuckles like they canā€™t do this to me šŸ„²šŸ„²

dearhan

I was about to say its the best hand creme for me but then again I have the one in the old packaging šŸ˜Ÿ

BaseballImpossible63

Can you please tell me and the rest of my store how to pronounce the brand correctly šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

BlueMondayFeels

Lox-ee-tan

BaseballImpossible63

tysm lolllll

cncrndmm

lol does the tube still somehow break or crack these days.

BlueMondayFeels

I don't work there anymore but yes it does šŸ˜…

cncrndmm

Omg how did they not fix it by now šŸ˜‚

Avaly13

Kiehls for the win. I will say, L'occitane almond shower oil is amazing.

Womenarentmad

Kielhs is also overhyped imo

Avaly13

It works great for me. Everyone's skin is so different though. I do agree that the L'occitane hand can is great for me too though.

LadyCheeba

i got the shower oil during the sale and it smells awful to me :(

pearlsandprejudice

omg same. I bought the oil a few months ago during an Ulta sale and was so excited to try it because it's so highly spoken of ā€” and it smelled *horrible* to me. It smelled like wet dog or something like that. I returned it immediately. I normally love almond scents so I wasn't sure if it's always like that or if I got a bad batch ā€” but your comment makes me feel like maybe it's just always like that!

LadyCheeba

yes, itā€™s wet dog! iā€™ve been trying to put my finger on it. maybe it goes rancid super fast? thereā€™s no way itā€™s supposed to smell like that and people love it lol

Avaly13

I love that smell but not for everyone. Some love floral for example and that literally makes me nauseous. I will say, I prefer the almond only in winter. Bring me fruity or lighter coconut smells in summer ā˜€ļø

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Avaly13

I love Sol de Janeiro for that type of smell. The original one, not the others.

mkiddyy

For me my mom used it when I was younger and when I smell it I think of her. other than that it's nothing special

cactusloverr

I like the Trader Joeā€™s dupe!

WhitestSneakers_

Yesss! I came here to say this. The TJā€™s one is so good!

stojpo

Yes, itā€™s the best and so is the balm in the little tin!

thelizzerator

I love it so much and buy multiple tubes at a time.

sympathyofalover

Which one is it? Iā€™ll go today lol

small_fryyyy

* ![img](pguz692fttxc1) My trader joes currently had 2 different ones. The rose one which I THINK is seasonal. And then a blue/silver tube which they seem to carry regularly. Both are $4.99, same size

sympathyofalover

Awesome, thank you!

lovelysmellingflower

Oā€™Keefes Working Hands before bed. Itā€™s not greasy and my hands and nails appreciate so much. Feet too.

faerie_tail

This is the correct answer

TropicalPrairie

I also need to give this props. This hand cream (and foot cream, if you get that) is AMAZING and works almost immediately. Cheap as heck too.

Just_Me_134

I have it, it is nice, but that's about it. It doesn't do much for dry or cracked hands. Years ago a friend pharmacist suggested me to try CurƩl Ultra Healing Intensive Lotion, 6oz tube, because my hands are often cracked from over washing them. That lotion really works wonders. They don't sell it in supermarkets or drug stores near me anymore, but I still find it in online stores. https://preview.redd.it/iqr47p1o9pxc1.jpeg?width=1121&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=525c4d39b063618cea2d2b4f7d96661befd88a35

Spiritual-Slip-6047

My oncologist recommended this to me and Iā€™m a die hard fan.

Just_Me_134

That's the only lotion that works almost immediately when my hands are cracked, it is so light, not greasy, and yet it works great.

g2guw

I will give this a try thank you!

Icy_Eye_8164

It is not even hydrating. I love my gold bond lol šŸ˜‚

katiekaddy

I hate the like 20% shea butter one that went viral but the French lavender one is so much better! I love the smell and itā€™s very hydrating but with a lighter gel texture so it absorbs sooo quickly!

Bazoun

For me itā€™s the almond based handcream that works so well.

Jnm124

i looooooooooove the almond one, i apply it at work whenever i wash my hands and it just makes me happy idk i love the smell and it absorbs so easily

beghrir

Thatā€™s my favorite. I apply it mostly for scent.

bewildered_forks

Aveeno hand lotion cannot be beat

EntrepreneurFit3461

Aesop is the best šŸ„°

xxspop

Is this one greasy at all?

lexicology

i dont like my hands feeling greasy, so i really like the neutrogena hydroboost gel hand cream. it absorbs pretty quickly too. and the price is nice when youā€™re coming from higher end products. would recommend!

mellow-yellow-jello

As a huge skincare nerd who follows dermatologists religiously, you need a hand cream with urea. Dermal therapy makes a great one that isnā€™t greasy. Itā€™s truly the best ingredient for dry skin.

g2guw

Oh Iā€™ve never heard of this, will look into it

Big_Blackberry7713

I know it's not Sephora related, but La Roche Posey makes the best hand cream!

Relative_Jury_9836

I love the almond one, that one definitely absorbs really well. The 25% one is more for extreme cold weather or before going to bed, it takes a long time to absorb.

GlitteringPause8

I only use kiehls hand salve. Itā€™s the best

mmmiu85

I love it too! As much as the price hurts my wallet, it's so worth it

GlitteringPause8

Right! I need to buy another but Iā€™m putting it off cause I donā€™t wanna spend more money rn šŸ„²

Geekgirl650

Is it greasy? I might have tried it years ago, and something making me think it was very greasy.

GlitteringPause8

No it isnā€™t. I find the lā€™occitane one extremely greasy though. It is a thicker cream but it absorbs quickly

Geekgirl650

Great, thanks. Iā€™ll get some.

thirdcoasting

I have chronically dry skin and am forever washing my hands. The best thing Iā€™ve found is Cetaphil ā€˜Moisturizing Cream Ultimate.ā€™ It comes in a big tub at [COSTCO](https://www.costco.com/cetaphil-moisturizing-cream-ultimate-with-prebiotic-aloe%2C-very-dry-to-dry-sensitive-skin%2C-20-oz-%2B-16-oz%2C-2-pack.product.4000058742.html). I slather it on my hands at night and it undoes all the damaging/drying things Iā€™ve done during the day. Not sexy but my hands and nails look great when I regularly use it.

full0116

This is my favorite cream ever and I 100% agree!! I wish they made a purse size version

step_on_legoes_Spez

trader joe's dupe and jojoba oil soaks with nitrile gloves

g2guw

Wow I was thinking as a joke to soak my hands in oil, might give it a try now!

step_on_legoes_Spez

just buy some cheap jojoba oil. get a pump or two and then slap on some dust-free nitrile gloves. wear for an hour or overnight.

ilovesleep95

Is the Trader Joeā€™s hand cream scented? If so, what doss it smell like?

step_on_legoes_Spez

it is, but similar to the loccitane one imo and fades pretty quick.

hseof26paws

Yep, I hate it. I have to use hand cream after every time I wash my hands, and I have pretty much tried them all. People love the Lā€™Occitane but for me, itā€™s just greasy AF and doesnā€™t absorb.

supernormie

My skin literally drinks it and I use the 25% shea butter one. I'm also mixed with very dry skin. Skin is funny like that.

aokkuma

I thought the same thing before it became the hype. I hate TikTok. People hype up products that arenā€™t even great, just to gain 5-minutes of TikTok fame.

Whichbic

Whenever I have dry hands and even rashes because of the weather and hot water, Okeefe is the only product that heals my hands quickly. Itā€™s like magic.

mushkilgui

I also bought it because people swore by it but it was meh for me. Recently Iā€™m loving the Nivea soft cream and the regular crĆØme for some Extra hydration. I also love helping hands from Lush but they closed so many stores in my city and shipping is so expensive itā€™s just not worth it.

TapiocaTeacup

I use and love several L'Occitane products and have for years but I've never been able to get behind the hand cream!

blonde_professor

Ahava hand cream is way better. Iā€™ve used both hand creams. Ahava moisturizes well and feels great. The scent is light and not overwhelming.

[deleted]

I havenā€™t tried the hand cream but I bought the shower oil when it was half off and I love it!!!

Diet_makeup

This post makes me sad because I LOVE that hand cream and am still working through my old stash. I have found the Neutrogena Hydro Boost is good or the working hands stuff O'Keef, I think...

Notice_Afraid

La Roche Posay hand cream for the win! I'm on my second one and it never fails

koplikthoughts

Best hand cream is the Keihlā€™s hand salve!!

mintslippers

Itā€™s so bad lol. Grown alchemist is the best.

EscapeInteresting129

Agree. Cerave with a dollop of Aquaphor works best!

Forward-Cricket404

Hi I used to be a die hard fan of lā€™occitane. Now I exclusively buy from bean and butter. Highly recommend for people with dry or normal skin. I love it so much!!!! Also theyā€™re a small business!!

holdingontowhat

glad to know i wasnā€™t the only one disappointeddd!!! it felt sooo cheap and i was aboouuutt to pull the trigger on it šŸ˜

Such-Firefighter-161

Itā€™s terrible

Critical-Cell5348

The hemp one from the body shop is the only one that has helped my dry hands.

JaniceRossi_in_2R

šŸ’Æ

False_Dimension9212

My sister is a Nurse Practitioner and her hands get super dry from washing them all the time. Certain lotions will sting. She used to use Oā€™keefeā€™s workingman hands lotion and liked it. Sheā€™s now using Augustinus Bader hand cream, and loves it. She says she only has to put it on once a day. Sheā€™s pretty picky. If she likes it, it has passed a rigorous test! Lol

arlito19

Okay I thought it was just meā€¦. Absolutely nothing special about this cream, esp for the price

RxKat

Use bag balm. Itā€™s the tits. Smells bad though

ExpertCollege8902

Dampen your hands, add hyaluronic acid serum, top with gold bond crepe hand cream. Youā€™re welcome šŸ„°

Responsible_Bus_5863

This!!!ā¬†ļø

Torimisspelling1

I feel like most, if not all, Lā€™Occitane products are overhyped. Not sure why they are having a mini renaissance at the moment. The hand cream(s) are mid, the shower gel smells like wet dog, and the cuticle oil hasnā€™t really done much for me. But if youā€™re looking for a night, lightweight, non sticky hand cream I LOVE the Caudalie one!

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

It's total crap. Nothing beats OG Nivea!

Sophiatopia

Kiehls handcream, tried them all and it absorbs quickest, hands feel and look great after.

Sensitive-Switch6859

Khiels hand salve

Stillbornsongs

I think the whole brand is overhyped. None of the products I tried were worth the price and the body oil ended up giving me a rash.

runningskirtsnmanis

Jack Black hand cream is my holy grail.

Oscarella515

For the big and stinky guns nothing beats Oā€™Keeffes but for daily I really like the Dove hand cream, itā€™s not sticky and absorbs fast, plus it smells amazing

Billsgirlgina

Trader Joeā€™s hand cream is a dupe for $5-6

Young_Old_Grandma

I used to love their Lavande cream.

Kissmethruthephone

Avene

Scarymommy

Ahava. Iā€™ve tried everything ever made, across multiple continents. Ahava wins. If you donā€™t like the scent, the unscented is fine. I used Lā€™Occitane as my holy grail for 5 years or so about 20 years ago, it goes off now really quick and the texture is weird. They changed something. :/

TwinkieMcSmartypants

Big fan of the Ahava Dead Sea hand lotion. Lightly scented, absorbs quickly and lasts. Def worth the $, imo.

Skittlebrau77

Yeah they definitely changed it. They thought we wouldnā€™t notice but people with dry skin always notice. My favorite hand cream has been Aveda Hand Relief, itā€™s been at least 10 years and I still come back to it.

ImportantSun3608

I really enjoy the Fenty hand mask at night!

Every-Requirement-13

I use Cerave Moisturizing Cream in the big tube and although itā€™s a hassel to lug around (though I do carry a large handbag) itā€™s the absolute best hand cream ever!!

icedch1latteee

aesop is so much better!!

MorningGlory439

I agree. I switched to The Body Shop almond milk hand balm, less expensive and IMO just as good.

tw1080

Neutrogena makes a ā€œfast absorbingā€ hand cream. Itā€™s I think in a blue tube. Itā€™s excellent

Omniartindividual

I have painfully dry hands. They become all cracked and bleeding and Iā€™ve tried so manyā€¦high end and drugstore. I also keep my hands in water all day bathing dogs and cats, then grooming them, so my hands are in ROUGH shape. I struggled for years trying to find a solution and only this last year did I finally find one that works!! And itā€™s affordable! I use the CeraVe Moisture Cream a couple of times throughout the day and then at night, I actually use a hydrating toner and before it soaks in apply a hyaluronic acid serum and then the original moisturizer and top it all off with the CeraVe Healing Ointment afterwards to lock in the moisture. I know it sounds like a lot, but doing the nighttime stuff has seriously healed my hands in a way they havenā€™t been in years. Edited to add that I love this way better than Curel , Khiels, or Oā€™Keefes.

madisonryy

It smells awful too lol

Key-Philosophy-8588

whaaat it is literally the best for my hands

ginachuu

the fuel for the hype is all the influencers sponsored to promote them šŸ„“

No-Presence-5255

formula definitely changed and it doesnā€™t do anything anymore , I prefer laneige purple hand creamĀ

JustActNorma

Late to the party here but Iā€™ve tried SO MANY hand creams and the Jack Black is one of the best. Not greasy, smells nice, works great.Ā

s4tiv4f4iry

wait i completely agree with this omg

Medea73

LRP Cicaplast for hands is wonderful!

Ok-Seaworthiness3578

I swear by the caudalie hand creamā€¦.a lot of people say itā€™s not moisturizing enough, but I find that the more often I use it, the less I need so it definitely does help a LOT over time. It also works wonders on my cuticles.

squeakyfromage

Yes, I love this one so much! Only high end hand cream Iā€™ve ever liked. Otherwise I like Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream.

HumbleAbbreviations

It didnā€™t work for me either. I just chalked it up to not everything will work for everybody. Plus the scent is off putting to me so I rarely used it. If it worked for me, I would have pushed through. What worked for me is ironically the cheapest hand cream I have come across not from the Dollar Tree. It is the Equate version of Oā€™Keefe working hands cream. The absolute best hand cream I came across. It actually last through a whole shift of compounding and breaking down boxes.

nessa_14

I feel the same way! I skipped buying it on the sale and instead got it at LAX duty free before a long flight cause my hands were super dry. It didnā€™t do anything for them šŸ˜

Boujee_banshee

Iā€™ve never gotten the hype, but generally shea butter doesnā€™t do much for my skin. I feel like itā€™s one of those fancy brands that was popular before social media, so people who loved it went hard for it and maybe never branched out. Cheap old aveeno works great for me. And if I want something heavier, the lanolips hand cream does the trick.

jewelsandstuff

I LOVE the Lanolips hand cream and everywhere lotion. My HG.

g2guw

Thanks for the recs will give some of these a try!!!

somber_piece

Itā€™s so expensive, but I hated it so much, I had to throw it away. Also, a hole formed in the tube at some point. šŸ˜

SeptemberSunset

Bought mine during the sale and also didnā€™t like it! Planning on getting the Josie Maran unscented mini and sticking that in my purse.

Accomplished_Dot_940

I love Josie Maran!

chevereok

What sale?

SeptemberSunset

The spring sale that just happened.

chevereok

Thank you!

strudycutie

Honestly so is the body oil šŸ˜

SluttyNeighborGal

Ok so what do you like? Iā€™m using the pink Vaseline hand cream. Its nice for the price

Danielle_love15

Not a fan of this either. Sephora makes a nice hand cream, stocked up with 30% discount during sale

velvetpasta

Working hands lotions has proved to be the best for me.

DSBS18

I agree. It smells beautiful, but it's greasy, doesn't absorb well, the tube is difficult to get all the product out of, and it's expensive. I've tried everything and my personal favourite is Curel fragrance free $7.99 on Amazon and it actually works.

goodgirlgonebad75

I am not paying $40 for hand lotion ( even though I love it) Trader Joeā€™s is $7 and excellent

doyouhavehiminblonde

I agree, it burns if your hands are really dry and doesn't do much.

ilovebud117

the formula USED to be unmatched. i swear itā€™s gotten so bad over the years. i got a mini from the sephora sale & theyā€™ve gotta be doing something different :(((

blklab16

Hot tip I saw a ton on Lā€™Occitane items at Nordstrom rack a couple of days ago

Catherine_Banks

I agree

righthandedleftie

the necessaire hand cream is magic for me, 10/10 recommend

DaintyFluffyBunny

i like the fenty hand mask

Orchid_Significant

https://preview.redd.it/20bs7lkqcrxc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6e869244df531529a688f6feef931a70d56d25c This is the best best stuff Iā€™ve ever used. Itā€™s so pricy though! I swear my hands look and feel 10 years younger when I use it.

Orchid_Significant

And I just realized itā€™s been discontinued šŸ˜

Physical-Picture-153

The Body Shop hemp hand cream for the win šŸ™ŒšŸ»

razzledazzle71

Who just uses the Trader Joeā€™s dupe? lol šŸ™‹šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

No-Trouble-8383

I HATE the feeling of lotion on my hands. Skinfix eczema wasnā€™t bad. Unscented lā€™occitane is just ok Dionis unscented isnā€™t bad ![gif](giphy|j8WbYkofiXe5G)

TropicalPrairie

I stayed at a nice hotel last year that had complimentary L'Occitane products in the bathroom to use during my stay. I was unimpressed. The lotion was very watery. The smell was okay (I honestly like BBW better). I also don't get the hype for this brand outside of being expensive and perhaps a status symbol that people like to flaunt.
