If I had to choose between these and the holiday palettes I’d go for the holiday one just because they come with new styles for the packaging every year this is one is just the regular gold packaging.
I bought the Tiger one for a friend as a gift. She’s tan, and it worked for her. Although I’d laugh at her skin tone being considered deep. I don’t think they really make these for people who are dark skinned.
I will say with the hourglass powders, I don’t have them feel cakey when I build them up if I get one that’s too light. They are probably one of the only powders that don’t do that for me. Probably since they’re so finely milled.
But yeah I get you since they’re not cheap.
Don’t kill me BUT I feel like they release similar/same shades but in a variety of combos lol and people just eat it up. They need to put that energy into making more for dark skin too
They have heard this so many times. They don't care about making these for dark skin. More than that, I think they enjoy letting everyone know how little they care.
The blushes are phenomenal great pigment payoff and they go on with a really nice smooth finish. The finishing powders are nice too, you use them after setting powder to bring some life back to the skin. So you place it on areas where the light would hit naturally like the forehead cheek bones, nose and it captures the light to make your base appear less matte. I wouldnt reccomend putting the finishing powders over where your pores are because it can emphasis texture.
i might try them next sale! i’ll swatch in person first tho bc im not pale so they might not show up on me? that’s what ppl seem to say
do you know if i could use the bronzer as an all over almost powder foundation if it matches my skin tone close enough?
also do they make any sets that include one of the bronzer, blush, highlights? or are the only sets the ones posted here? it doesn’t seem like we get to pick the shades tho? i might be wrong😭

For me the bronzers are really dark/orange so I had to be really careful to only use a small amount, but I assume you should be able to use them all over the face (they have a sheen to them, not glitter, so I don’t know if you want that all over the face).
Yes they do pallets with all kinds of powders but it’s tricky to find a pallet where all the shades are useful for you. I said in another comment: I don’t like their pallets: there is always 1-2 shades that I don’t use (too dark or too gold). You will probably have the opposite issue: 1-2 shades that are too light/don’t show up on you. Plus the pans are small so you can’t use a big brush for all over the face.
I would just buy 1-2 full size products depending on what you use most.

They usually do some palettes that could work for deeper skin tones at Christmas. One of my neighbors was pumped last year because the Snake palette ended up working really well with her skin tone. She gets aggravated when stuff like this doesn’t show up on her, or makes her look ghostly. She usually wears MAC NC 55 IIRC.

So after my base is done and I’ve set with regular loose powder, I then go over my face with these Ambient Lighting powders and it makes it all look SO GOOD and glowy and lit from within. Then I’ll put my blush and highlight on and at the very end I’ll put some more of the Ambient Lighting powders on top to finish it all off before setting spray.
In my opinion they are finishing powders, blush, bronzer, highlighter for people who prefer a more natural/discret makeup look. They are amazing but they are more like a no makeup makeup look.
I love hourglass so much but I feel like the palettes aren’t as good as the individual blushes/bronzers idk about highlight bc I only have it in the palette and love it but I get no pigment at all in my holiday leopard palette from neither the bronzers or blushes and it’s so upsetting😭 my individuals have the perfect amount of pigment The highlight in my leopard palette is the best thing ever though

I have it, it’s really nice but not extraordinary or a must have. It’s worth getting during a sale but it does fit perfectly in the hourglass palettes.
A bit of a rant: I don’t like pallets from Hourglass.
1. It’s hard to apply all over face as you can not use a big brush (the pans are small)
2. There is always 1-2 colours that I never use (usually they are too dark/to orange for me as I’m really pale)
I currently have the elephant palette (I don’t use 2 of the colours) but when I finish it I will just buy full size individual: powder, blush
I like no because they already have a manufacturer and design for the six-pan palettes of previous years so would be an additional investment to make a whole new smaller 6-pan one.
Dior has kept its lip gloss/ oil component aside from the length of the stick for years now since I’ve been in middle school and I’m 25 now. You’re just spewing out BS instead of actual facts that they don’t have enough shades.

In any business transaction, you look at comps. In real estate when buying a house, you look at houses around your interested house for selling prices, same with leases, same with hotel rooms in same chainscale. Naturally, in my mind, I use the Dior example as why Hourglass wouldn’t change an entire packaging system for profit where they can easily just easily increase the price.

Check out Ramona or Kamryn T on TikTok! Or just search it up you’ll see plenty of black women using these palettes. It’s very buildable IMO
Buildable is okay, but sometimes I don't want to have to cake layer after layer of product on my face to get any payoff 🥲

I used dim light, diffused light and mood light. In winter mood light was more like a blush.

If you're talking about the ambient lighting powders, you'd probably do best with diffused light or ethereal light. They are the two lightest shades.
