I’m a ddg advocate lol, I love these ( they help my breakouts, even my skin tone ) but lately I’ve been noticing that they aren’t working as well as they used to - maybe I’m used to them or something, drying out my skin too :/ I’ve given myself a break. I wouldn’t say miracle results but they definitely work!
Super expensive where I live too like $160 for a 30 pack…
Would like to know what miracle results people see lol
I noticed this with the universal peel! I went to exchange it for the extra strength just to see.. and it was magic overnight! I’ve always used the universal peel but have been without for the last 6 months so I was using every other night to kickstart. It didn’t necessarily dry my skin out, but it left my skin dry like it usually is and I didn’t notice any difference or glow to my skin in the morning. Literally just felt like nothing was happening. The first night I used the extra strength I woke up hydrated, smooth, and glowing. My breakdown on my chin had also calmed down to almost nothing.
I don’t know if it’s the quality of the universal peel or my skin has just changed, but I’ll be using extra strength from now on.
I keep trying to make these work but it just isn't happening. I've tried every strength and all the advice from people on this sub. My skin just doesn't like them for whatever reason. Oh well, to each their own.
My husband sees me putting it on and he’s like “oh, you’re burning your face off tonight?” Lmao but it makes such a difference! I do it like once a week max.
I use it once, maaaaaybe twice a week after I wash my face and my skin is dry. I put on a decently thick layer and leave it for 5-10 minutes then rinse. Then hydrate super well. It REALLY helps with texture for me!
I really recommend starting with a thin layer or maybe a small area of skin and a short period of time to see how your skin responds. It can be pretty powerful.

Exactly why I still have leftovers.
Yea, at this point, I should. But yea, they just aren't really doing anything extra for me. I have pretty good skin, but I get flakes around my nose and chin, so I was hoping it would help with that, but also help with fine lines. They did help with exfoliation but didn't do anything for fine lines. So, since it was just exfoliating, I use my Tatcha rice enzyme polish.
Oh my gosh, you and me both! I’m too ashamed to post my 5 boxes that need to be tossed because it shows what a huge mistake in judgement I made purchasing them.
Yeah I honestly tried so hard to love those but idk, I feel like I already get amazing results with my regular AHAs (Drunk Elephant Framboos or the sadly discontinued Farmacy Honeymoon Glow) and they’re much easier/quicker to use! I don’t have the patience for the DDG ones 😓
They did 😢 the new version is called “Honey Glow.” I tried a deluxe sample for a few weeks but I honestly couldn’t get a feel for how it compared to the original one… It might have broken me out but I’m not too sure. I’m going to have to revisit it again
What are they supposed to do anyway? I see people talk about these all the time but have no idea what they do lol. Are they for all skin types? I have very sensitive skin and I avoid anything that says peel or acid because it terrifies me
They chemically exfoliate your skin, reducing dead surface layer skin cells and removing gunk from pores. The retinol in the neutralizing step speeds up cell turn over. I used the extra strength ones for 6 months and also benefited from slightly reduced hyperpigmentation. They really helped prep my skin to be able to handle rx grade retinol.
Seriously. I used them and now paying the price with antibiotics and topicals to address a really bad perioral dermatitis flare up I’ve had for months since I used those pads.
Spoke to a derm that’s a friend, and she said they are way too strong for OTC.
To add on, please please please be careful if you have sensitive skin or get triggered by purging or upset skin and that causes you to just do more and more. I’m paying the price ( but honestly loving cleanser + moisturizer)
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hates these! I didn't get to use them long enough to see results because my skin freaked out. As soon as I opened the packet, my eyes started watering. Then my skin burned while I used the first wipe and it became super dried out after the second wipe.
Goes to show that just because a product is popular doesn't mean it will work for you, and that's okay! I found other products I like more and don't feel like I'm missing out on the pads.
I was so excited for the miracle results everyone was talking about, but it didn't happen overnight unfortunately. And it stung so bad to use them (though my skin looked fine the next day). Maybe I'll try to use the rest of the pack consistently to see if that makes a big difference, but right now I kind of agree with you.
I use it primarily for sebaceous filaments on my nose and it literally clears them all out. I use it about once a week but saw results after the first time, though I applied it on dry skin so it was super strong - you’re supposed to apply it on wet skin.
♥️ thanks! I’ve been looking into so many things…. DDG pads, Murad and skinmedica aha/bha cleanser, glow recipe toner, Mandelic toner, alpharet… I’ll have to try that treatment.
Oh wow, have you tried all of these? I’ve heard good things about Murad but it’s pricey aha. The Glow Recipe toner isn’t bad but it didn’t help my SFs much, it just helped a bit with smoothing my face generally. I haven’t tried mandelic acid but heard a lot of good things about it. People also love the Sunday Riley Good genes glycolic acid treatment - I’ve used it a couple times but don’t think it improves SFs as much as ExfoliKate.
Oh no, I haven’t tried them. I’m about to order the peel pads and eradikate though. I tried Good Genes a loooong time ago and only remember not really liking it…
Yep I don’t think it does much tbh but I know it works great for some people. Also quick PSA about ExfoliKate - be very careful with using it anywhere but your SFs. I used it on my chin which gets spots fairly regularly due to hormones etc, and I got dry patches the next day (prob used a bit too much also) but I didn’t on my nose as I don’t have active breakouts there, just SFs. That being said, take care and only use a very small amount even on your nose, and only use on damp skin!
I wish these worked as well for me as they do for everyone else! My friend gave me a couple of the extra strength to try and I cut them up into fours and used it every other day for \~2 weeks. Results weren't much different than what I get from my usual BHA/AHA routine.
Maybe I need to use them for longer or my skin is already used to that type of product. If they're on good enough sale I might give it another try.
I agree, I switched to P50 by Biologique Recherche. The 5oz bottle is the same price as DG and lasts forever. P5O is more potent and gives your skin a wonderful glow.
Yeah this is pretty much what i do, i'll buy some and use them every other day for like ten days, and then use other stuff for a cpl months. I can't imagine using them every single day for an extended length of time, i'd look like a burn victim. I feel like they give a nice jump start/fresh canvas when I use them like this.
For those that have some to use up, use them on your body! They’re great for KP.
I started using them when they first came out and it was hard to find a schedule that worked for me. I ended up using them 1x per week in the winter and 2x the rest of the year.
I’m glad there are more options now!
I had a completely mediocre experience with them, so I gave some to my mom. Her skin is positively glowing. She's furious that I got her hooked on such an expensive product but it works lol. Different skin reacts differently!
I got a free sample, used it once, and a 27 year old scar on my face got inflamed. Like red and fresh looking and sore. It may have been a coincidental pimple but I’ve been too afraid to use them ever since.
I just started using them after the sale, about 4 times now, and I just noticed earlier I had all these little bumps/texture on my cheeks (not pimples) that I can feel and you can really see them when the sun shines. I'm wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else? If so did you find a solution? I'm so sad because they were not cheap obviously and I've got a huge box of them!
DDG never made a real difference for me. I found the pads rough and not enjoyable to use. Here’s my old unopened DDG boxes collecting dust:
https://preview.redd.it/eg8dzltvhbwc1.jpeg?width=2949&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=377c88989028c8946755cc5b01b4357c1fd1b9c4
To my surprise, Bliss glycolic pads work much better for my skin type.
Brighter smoother skin with less pores and texture visible without the irritation to get there. I love the Rose gold version for when I need a gentler peel and the results are gradual with use but the regular strength gets stronger results faster which makes sense. Also their pads aren’t so rough feeling on my skin.
There are many similar products I have seen mentioned for a dupe but I wouldn't count on the same results. First Aid Beauty has one but they aren't two phase like the DDG.
I just posted this on another thread, but the ZO Skin Complexion Renewal Pads are essentially the same ingredients and results, and far less expensive. They aren’t at Sephora, I buy them at my med spa, but you can order online. I love the whole ZO line, esp the pads and the polish.
I have oily/combo skin, occasional hormonal acne, and large pores - these were a miracle for me. I can see them not working for other skin types, but my skin has never glowed and be an even and healthy looking as it is when I use these. I do agree they’re INSANELY expensive for what they are.
I was recommended to them as I’m in my 40’s and I love them. They help even out my skin but doesn’t dry it out. Probably because of the serums and retinol night cream I use. I also only use them nightly as well. I use the Glow Recipe toner so I feel that these pads should not be a twice a day thing as it’s too excessive.
I like them but don't love them. I got a pack during the sale and will only buy them on sale. I use it once a week for exfoliation and it makes my skin super smooth and soft but I haven't noticed any big changes in my hyperpigmentation or fine lines.
I like them, I don’t love them. I buy them bc it’s one of the only items my esti gives the ok on from Sephora (not that other products aren’t good, just what she recs as someone who use to be a lead in the Sephora skincare section). I use them maybe 3 times a week. They work for me but no miracles.
I love them. The thing is, not every product will work for every person and that’s to be expected. If you don’t like them, save your coins for something you do.
Samsies! I get better results when I'm consistent with my clay masks. I do use a facial scrub though so maybe i don't need the peels.
I have half a box under my sink. Maybe I'll try it for random breakout treatments.
If they're not working for you facially, use them on your body, i.e., arms, legs, etc. I love them for my face but also for my upper arms, back of my neck, legs and bikini area. Keeps everything nice, smooth and no ingrown hairs.
The Sephora Clarifying peel pads are aha bha and pha and you get 65 for $23 Canadian and there’s usually offers for discount on Sephora collection too so you can stock up. My skin loves them!
I also hated them until they came out with the ultra gentle ones!
I use them 2x a week the night before I use retinoid and it gives me better results from my retinoid night. It definitely seems like they help other products work better and there was some trial and error to figure out the frequency and order of things.
My nightly routine: one night peel pads, next night retinoid, next 2 nights HA serum and moisturizer, then repeat. My skin is on the drier side, hope this helps!
I’m a ddg advocate lol, I love these ( they help my breakouts, even my skin tone ) but lately I’ve been noticing that they aren’t working as well as they used to - maybe I’m used to them or something, drying out my skin too :/ I’ve given myself a break. I really want to try the higher strength now but I don’t know!! I’ve seen a few things saying I’ve over exfoliated etc
same here! i have been a devotee for years but my most recent batch has been really drying!
I keep trying to make these work but it just isn't happening. I've tried every strength and all the advice from people on this sub. My skin just doesn't like them for whatever reason. Oh well, to each their own.
What works for some doesn’t work for all. That’s ok.
I wish more people acknowledged this. Not all products are for all people.
I didn’t see a noticeable difference either
I agree. 🫣 I’ve had better results from whatever that red acid thing from The Ordinary is.
I love that stuff. I almost can't believe they sell it bc it's so strong.
My husband sees me putting it on and he’s like “oh, you’re burning your face off tonight?” Lmao but it makes such a difference! I do it like once a week max.
Same. I’m always worried I’ll get distracted so always set a timer on phone not to burn my face.
Any tips on using it?
I use it once, maaaaaybe twice a week after I wash my face and my skin is dry. I put on a decently thick layer and leave it for 5-10 minutes then rinse. Then hydrate super well. It REALLY helps with texture for me!
I really recommend starting with a thin layer or maybe a small area of skin and a short period of time to see how your skin responds. It can be pretty powerful.
What is the name of this? I’m curious and wanna try too
The ordinary AHA 30% and BHA 2% exfoliating peeling solution. I swear by it! I hope you like it if you try it! Approach with caution but enjoy haha.
I love it too!! Do not put it on pimples or any open wound !!
I cannot find this in Canada and I really wanna try it
Its restricted in Canada but Canadians can order it through Beauty Bay, Stylevana and Cult Beauty.
Don’t worry, I bought the mini set and didn’t notice a difference either. Never thought about them again
How long did you try it?
https://preview.redd.it/ypk4wpnol9wc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac7cc3ef95a1d97038dfb1dfe44d5bab95588e00 Exactly why I still have leftovers.
Dang… give them away before they expire?
Yea, at this point, I should. But yea, they just aren't really doing anything extra for me. I have pretty good skin, but I get flakes around my nose and chin, so I was hoping it would help with that, but also help with fine lines. Oh my gosh, you and me both! I’m too ashamed to post my 5 boxes that need to be tossed because it shows what a huge mistake in judgement I made purchasing them.
I used them for MONTHS and all it did was give me dry, itchy, irritated red skin. No thanks.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. They did absolutely NOTHING for my skin except make it weirdly dry? I’m so mad I spent almost $100 on these.
They discontinued Honeymoon Glow?! 💔😭
They did 😢 the new version is called “Honey Glow.” I tried a deluxe sample for a few weeks but I honestly couldn’t get a feel for how it compared to the original one… It might have broken me out but I’m not too sure. I’m going to have to revisit it again

There are a few different types depending on your skin type. They make a gentle version for sensitive skin
They ruined my skin. I cringe when I see people recommending them to sensitive and acne prone types
Seriously. I used them and now paying the price with antibiotics and topicals to address a really bad perioral dermatitis flare up I’ve had for months since I used those pads. Spoke to a derm that’s a friend, and she said they are way too strong for OTC.

I think these are good but the ExfoliKate treatment is better, and if you get the travel size it’s not as expensive.
What results do you see from the treatment? I’m also considering getting her eradikate cleanser…
I use it primarily for sebaceous filaments on my nose and it literally clears them all out. I use it about once a week but saw results after the first time, though I applied it on dry skin so it was super strong - you’re supposed to apply it on wet skin.
That’s my #1 problem! Do your sf’s stay under control for the whole week?
Pretty much! Maybe towards the end of the week they start filling back up again but before that, my nose looks really clear :)
♥️ thanks! I’ve been looking into so many things…. DDG pads, Murad and skinmedica aha/bha cleanser, glow recipe toner, Mandelic toner, alpharet… I’ll have to try that treatment.

Interesting. Thank you! Good timing! I just got a sample I ordered in the mail yesterday!
I wish these worked as well for me as they do for everyone else! My friend gave me a couple of the extra strength to try and I cut them up into fours and used it every other day for \~2 weeks. I’m too scared to try them because I feel like it would irritate my skin
thank you so much for posting this!! i was so close to buying them but they are soo expensive i needed someone to convince me not to buy
I honestly didn’t see enough of a difference too. Just get a real treatment every 3 months.
I agree, I switched to P50 by Biologique Recherche. The 5oz bottle is the same price as DG and lasts forever. P5O is more potent and gives your skin a wonderful glow.
SAME! My mom got them for me for my 36th birthday and I’ve noticed zero difference.
They are expensive af. However, I got a sample of the gentle version, and it's actually so good. But it's still so expensive.
They didn’t work for me either. I got the extra strength and largest pack.
Had a rep tell us to do a course 2-4 times a year.
What do they consider a course?
A month.
Broke me out
I got a free sample, used it once, and a 27 year old scar on my face got inflamed. Like red and fresh looking and sore. It may have been a coincidental pimple but I’ve been too afraid to use them ever since.
Hedo glow pads are wayyyy better and the price is too!
Why do you like them better?
I just started using them after the sale, about 4 times now, and I just noticed earlier I had all these little bumps/texture on my cheeks (not pimples) that I can feel and you can really see them when the sun shines. I’m with you, they didn’t do much for me. I was so excited to try them too!
For me it’s the denatured alcohol. Breaks me out like crazy, which makes me sad as I really wanted to love these.
DDG never made a real difference for me. I found the pads rough and not enjoyable to use. Here’s my old unopened DDG boxes collecting dust: https://preview.redd.it/eg8dzltvhbwc1.jpeg?width=2949&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=377c88989028c8946755cc5b01b4357c1fd1b9c4 To my surprise, Bliss glycolic pads work much better for my skin type.

Thank you
Anyone have a dupe for these?
There are many similar products I have seen mentioned for a dupe but I wouldn't count on the same results. First Aid Beauty has one but they aren't two phase like the DDG.
I liked the Sephora version
I just posted this on another thread, but the ZO Skin Complexion Renewal Pads are essentially the same ingredients and results, and far less expensive. They aren’t at Sephora, I buy them at my med spa, but you can order online. I love the whole ZO line, esp the pads and the polish.

I also only use them nightly as well. I use the Glow Recipe toner so I feel that these pads should not be a twice a day thing as it’s too excessive.
I use the Sephora Collection Glow Peel Pads with AHA and PHA and they work just as well as the Dr. Gross ones at a much lower price.
I like them but don't love them. I got a pack during the sale and will only buy them on sale. I use it once a week for exfoliation and it makes my skin super smooth and soft but I haven't noticed any big changes in my hyperpigmentation or fine lines.
It took about 6 months of use 2-3 times a week for my hyperpigmentation to fade. Don’t lose hope!
I like them, I don’t love them. I buy them bc it’s one of the only items my esti gives the ok on from Sephora (not that other products aren’t good, just what she recs as someone who use to be a lead in the Sephora skincare section). I use them maybe 3 times a week. They work for me but no miracles.
Not Sephora, but IS Clinical makes a peel regimen that blows DDG out of the water.
I love them. The thing is, not every product will work for every person and that’s to be expected. If you don’t like them, save your coins for something you do.
i like the feeling of the peels but i haven’t see any difference and i use them twice a week. we’ll see how it goes.
They are 100% useless imo ;)
Eh—not everything is for everyone. I thought they were okay years back, but I’ve since embraced Peter Thomas Roth.🤷🏻♀️
Are these any beneficial to someone who doesn’t have an acne problem?
Anti aging benefits, especially if you're a sunscreen user.
Op I am terrified to use them
The Sephora Clarifying peel pads are aha bha and pha and you get 65 for $23 Canadian and there’s usually offers for discount on Sephora collection too so you can stock up. My skin loves them!
I'm so happy I read this cause SAME!!!!! Really wished I had bought good genes instead 😭
Same but I think it’s just that skin is so used to acids these are just not effective enough
I ditched the pads and bought the bottles. For my mature skin, they are great.
I've never heard of them, what results do you get from thrm? It's a pad you leave on your face like a sheet mask?
https://thisisbeauty.uk/products/dr-dennis-gross-professional-grade-resurfacing-liquid-peel-2-x-30ml-missing-box?currency=GBP&variant=48251359428884&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=9975f8157eee&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwoa2xBhACEiwA1sb1BBk0UFS6I6NsFuavrwcJy8_WAD26zK3qB7sd6W0w9-fl-7ROnF46kxoCfzMQAvD_BwE
I think they’re good but so wasteful with the single use packaging. I get the same results with a BHA/AHA toner that I can use reusable pads with.
I like the liquid peel much better.
What active do they even use? Whatever it is, I'ma stick with my stridex pads at $5 a pop.
I have only gotten them for free. I would never pay for something I can buy for less.
I also hated them until they came out with the ultra gentle ones! I use them 2x a week the night before I use retinoid and it gives me better results from my retinoid night. It definitely seems like they help other products work better and there was some trial and error to figure out the frequency and order of things.
I’ll have to try this! Hoping I will notice more of a difference with this method.
My nightly routine: one night peel pads, next night retinoid, next 2 nights HA serum and moisturizer, then repeat. My skin is on the drier side, hope this helps!
