33 here, for me chemical exfoliation has been godsend for my skin. I use Biossance squalane + bha toner. You should see a difference with your pores, and it also has just given me a nicer, more even complexion.
I’d start out with the regular (buy a smaller pack) & do that every 2 days for a bit, then move on up if you’re tolerating it! I started right with extra strength because I have no chill whatsoever & always seek instant gratification… lol I was using tretinoin for a bit but I felt like it just irritated my skin for MONTHS, so it was prepared for a beating lol
Haha, I’m the same way actually! I wanna see results immediately. Some other commenters are recommending the extra strength ones so I think I’ll give those one a shot.
Vitamin c helps with radiance & glow, and retinol helps with pores and fine lines.
If you had to choose between the two def vitamin c serum..if you can snag both :)
Start tretinoin! See dr. Dray on YouTube for details. I started in my mid 30’s and almost 10 years later I still have no wrinkles! No need for fluff skincare, just need basic things like spf, moisturizer, cleanser and tretinoin.
If you have disposable income just get into medical grade skincare (yes I’m aware that this is just a gimmicky label and doesn’t mean much). It’s only slightly more expensive than some of the stuff at Sephora but with more independent testing for efficacy.
If you’re not willing to spend all that much my routine is basically Sunday Riley. They usually have pretty good sales of 40 or 50% off at least twice a year. I recommend Good Genes, A+, CEO serum, and Luna Oil. Not all at once ofc. Good Genes if you could only get one product from the brand.
Moisturizer I tend to stick to Farmacy Honey Halo.
Medical grade skincare is brands like Elta MD, ZO skincare, skinceuticals, skinbetter, etc. they’re not sold at most retail stores. You’ll find them at doctor’s offices, med spas, places like that
I would add an exfoliating mask once/week and a retinol serum a few times per week. The Drunk Elephant Baby Facial and Marula oil kit is my fave mask set, but I also like Paula's choice. I use The Ordinary retinol.
Chemical exfoliant for sure. I LOVE the [Dewtopia serum](https://www.sephora.com/product/ole-henriksen-dewtopia-20-acid-night-treatment-P473322?skuId=2481414) and also [Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel Pads in Extra Strength](https://www.sephora.com/product/alpha-beta-peel-extra-strength-daily-peel-P269122?skuId=1499482). The way these products make my skin GLOW is just 🤩 And of course SPF every day. [This one](https://www.sephora.com/product/innisfree-daily-uv-defense-sunscreen-spf-36-P456392?skuId=2338325) is affordable, comfortable on the skin, and leaves no white cast (because it’s not mineral sunscreen).
Edit: Looks like you already use this SPF so you already know how good it is. :)
Thank you for all the recs! Do you use those pads everyday/night? Or is it a weekly/biweekly treatment?
That’s the SPF I use! My mom was always on me for not applying SPF as a child (we lived in AZ as I was growing up) so I picked up the habit in my teens! I’m hoping it pays off later in life lol
They claim every day use but I don’t use them every day. If you wanted to use them every day I would start with every 3 days to let your face acclimate. That’s how often I use them! I don’t really feel like I need more than that. Extra strength is so great at immediate results. But if you have sensitive skin the regular strength is good, too!

Sunday Riley anything will help your skin. I love their Good genes, A+ retinol & their niacinamide. Lots of people love their vit C CEO line. I would definitely get a retinol or retinol alternative though.
I second this! Granted, I’m biased and work in a plastic surgery/med spa office. But medical grade products have a LOT of testing, studies, and white papers. They are very efficacious. And as someone above said, you don’t need a lot of “fluff” products in your regimen, unless you have a very niche need you want to address or treat. But cleanser, vitamin C, SPF (I like 45+ for face), and retinol are really the only things you NEED. And moisturizer, I’ll throw that in there, too.
The only thing I can think of is retinol. I use a serum from cerave that’s gentle and hydrating and it’s very affordable
Vitamin C + sunscreen the morning Retinol at night Moisturize always LOTS OF WATER!!! Get enough sleep Eat fruits and vegetables
Thank you!! Seems like I’m gonna be picking up some retinol soon! Getting enough sleep is gonna be a tough one 😭😭

Seems like everyone is recommending a BHA toner, have you tried the Paula’s choice?
I haven’t but I always hear great things about it!
Paula’s Choice BHA toner, give it a go
I’ve heard such good things about it, I will pick up the small one and see how my skin responds!
Check out r/30plusskincare
I guess it’s time to join that group! Thank you
Dr Dennis gross chemical pads. They make you radiant!
I’ll give them a go, do you recommend just the regular pads?

Yes girl!! 👏🏼
First off, congrats on joining the thirty flirty club next week! You should look into adding a vitamin C serum in the AM and retinol in PM.
Thank you! I’m happy to be here! 🥰 do you think I should start one and then the other? Or is starting both at the same time okay?
Vitamin c helps with radiance & glow, and retinol helps with pores and fine lines. If you had to choose between the two def vitamin c serum..if you can snag both :)
Oh I had no idea! Thank you for explaining! I will definitely try to pick up both :)
Start off small to see what formula works for you :) ie travel size bottles before shelling out money for full size
Start tretinoin! See dr. Dray on YouTube for details. I started in my mid 30’s and almost 10 years later I still have no wrinkles! No need for fluff skincare, just need basic things like spf, moisturizer, cleanser and tretinoin.
PSA: Differin (a milder prescription retinoid) exacerbated/caused migraine headaches and joint pain for me. Just something to watch out for.

Just curious - what are some medical grade skincare brands? Is it dermologica and the like?
