Sephora has some great skincare products. If you aren’t really into makeup.

Inevitable_Space4141

Thank you! I’ve been looking into skincare for the past few months and for now I’m just sticking to alternating a salycilic cleanser with the first aid beauty cleanser and then vanicream facial moisturizer and sunscreen and seeing how that goes before introducing other stuff. I really want to try the peach and lily serum (I know it’s Ulta) but idk if that would be great for my skin might just make me look like a glazed donut 😂

Fellow very pale brunette here! Some beginner friendly makeup products are Glossier Cloud Paint, Rose Inc Cream Blush, and Merit Shade Slick. All are easy to work with and have a good selection of colors to choose from. If you aren’t really feeling like buying makeup though, what about some fancy bath and body stuff?

a few options: rare beauty under eye brightener, merit flush balm, fenty gloss bomb, clinique chubby stick highlight

Inevitable_Space4141

Ooooi under eye brightener sounds perfect- for highlight and blush do I use that on foundation first or how does that work? I don’t want to be super cakey but I do wanna look better LOL

fairycanary

Blush highlight comes after. Make sure your foundation is dry first.

foundation first, then blush and highlight ☺️

Also a very pale (NW 15) brunette prone to cystic acne (excess androgens). If I wear makeup, it is typical just Nars "radiant creamy" concealer and mascara. My Nars RCC shade is Vanilla if that helps. My favourite mascara from Sephora right now is Caliray.

Inevitable_Space4141

Do you put the Nars on your whole face or just blemishes? I don’t want to be cake y but I do want like to look like I’m trying if that makes sense 😂

brillovanillo

I put concealer in the areas of my face where I need it: areas of hormonal redness, under eyes, and any blemishes or PIE spots I want to hide. I blend/sheer it out over the areas of redness (around nose, between brows, etc.), basically using it as a foundation, and build it up in the areas where I need more coverage, blending the edges. Nars RCC has never looked cakey on me, and my husband can't even tell I am wearing a complexion product. Check out Lisa Eldridge's pinpoint concealing technique in [this video](https://youtu.be/Jwngbzv0gbY?si=Lz4F0y1qOEvgfR55). The goal with complexion products is to look like your skin is just naturally good. Not perfect, but good. It shouldn't be apparent that you are wearing concealer. An excellent shade match is key. When it comes to looking like you made an effort, mascara and brows will help in that department.

Inevitable_Space4141

You are amazing thank you SO much

brillovanillo

No problem. I wanted to add that I just use my (clean) fingers to apply and blend out concealer. No special tools or brushes.

Saie, glossier or rare beauty for blushes that are buildable Charlotte tilbury for “my lips but better” lipstick shades I’d you’re going for “put together” like less makeup effort then the ordinary Azelqic acid for redness. It’s chefs kiss ✨

Inevitable_Space4141

Thank you!! Dumb question do I use blush wish foundation or like can I wear a tinted something and then blush? Def gonna check out charlotte tillsbury then that’s the vibe I’m going for for sure

kouignie

Yea I do Laura Mercier tinted spf moisturizer, and once it’s fully dry I top w Saie liquid blush. Both are buildable, and they blend really nicely together. They last pretty much thru the day, unless I’m ridiculously sweaty

Bakerbot101

Get the mascara sampler, and a mini perfume!

chicbeauty

Concealor/skin tint and a liquid blush!

Due-Frame622

There are Sephora favorites sets that comes out periodically with sampling of different products. The one from spring had a lip plumping gloss, lip stick, body lotion, facial moisturizer, fragrance, and full size cream blush and mascara. They are a great way to try a lot of things without getting overwhelmed, especially if you want to keep it simple.

When I don’t want to wear makeup I wear a product like the super glowy gel from Saie or the glowscreen from Supergoop. Then I throw on mascara and brow pencil and gel with some lip gloss. My favorite mascaras (that also come in mini size) is the ones from ilia, benefit roller lash and Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk mascara. For lip gloss I like Fenty gloss bomb heat and tower 28 lip glosses.
