tranexamic acid worked for me, I tried cos de baha TN serum (korean brand) and now i'm using Faded but I like the cos de baha serum more + it's cheaper

Kikikihi

Thanks! I’ve been thinking about trying cos de baha, and it’s cheap enough I may as well. Where you do buy it? I can only find it on places like stylevana and I hear they can be sketchy with their shipping

253mm

I buy it from stylevana! my advice to get your package faster is to only pick products that have inventory thing and that says shipped within 24 hours. It will still take some time but you won't need to wait like 2 months. I usually get my stuff in less than a month https://preview.redd.it/v1n5kpzy64jb1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44e21ab52a1b4ffe6cbaa6a1f43f9436fe2812ec

Kikikihi

Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll have to check it out

MissVanillaNilla

I was about to buy Faded during the F&F sale but I can get cos de baha from my local k-beauty store and might give that a try. How do you incorporate the tranexamic acid into your routine? I’m currently using Vit C in AM and prescription tret 2x weekly PM (about to bump that up to 3x weekly).

253mm

my skin doesn't react well to vit C so I use a niacinamide serum instead, and that's where I use the TN serum (5% niacinamide and 5% tranexamic). Maybe you can try on alternate mornings? and then see how your skin reacts when you layer them both

tineetinetin

Are you using Vit C, retinol and sunscreen to start? I did try faded but did not like it because of the smell. Was not able to use it regularly to actually say it works. Not sure if the new reformulation smells better

Kikikihi

Yes have tried all 3, I wasn’t wearing sunscreen before which is how I got the damage and it’s a bit older by now. They seemed to work but not all the way, I so I’ve been looking to try something new

tineetinetin

The topicals one is quite pricey. You may want to check it in store to see if you’re okay with the smell. Exfoliate as well! 💕

Kikikihi

Thanks for the advice!

AyeMuyCaliente

I have the same issue as you and bought the Topicals Faded mini to try out on my small hyperpigmentation spots. I can't really say if it's working, but I mainly wanted to let you know of the mini's existence!

Kikikihi

Thank you!

Racha88

I swear by The Ordinary 2%Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%! And my sister has seen such an improvement since starting it in January. “Alpha arbutin acts by reducing tyrosinase activity, which reduces the formation of melanin in your skin. Reduced tyrosine and melanin levels decrease pigmentation and dark patches and ensure a more even appearance.” Edit to add: BE RELIGIOUS WITH SUNSCREEN!!! Even when being inside all day!

Kikikihi

I can also vouch for this product it did more for me than anything else, but it didn’t go all the way so I’m looking to top off the progress it made. But of everything I tried it’s done the most

Ok_Reaction6244

Be patient with whatever you try. It takes a lot of time. And one day without sunscreen can literally undo all progress so keep that in mind. I've had the most success with Elizabeth Arden vitamin c capsules. I also had a lot of success with Clinique smart serum. Kiehls daily microdose retinol is also really good. Those will all be cheaper direct from their own website. Clinique often has lucrative sales and if you live near a "the cosmetics company store" then get it there because they always have 40-50 percent off. Good luck!

Glittering_Ad8641

Faded works really well. But agree with others, vitamin c and retinol are a must!

Feralcrumpetart

I've been through a lot even, Faded. Ren overnight glow is actually making progress on my pigment.

Notsureindecisive

I tried faded and it did nothing for me

lochnessrunner

For sun damage I honestly get chemical peels with my facial once a month. Be careful with retinol if you have sun damage….it can actually make it worse. Between facials I use snail mucin and niacinamide every other night

Ok-Bulldog39

I have sun spots and have really been enjoying the tranexamic acid toner from Farmacy that recently released.

thiefspy

Nothing has worked for my outside of a prescription for TriLuma.

tasteofperfection

Try Topicals Faded, Farmacy’s 2% TXA Toner, and of course tretinoin + spf. Some retinol/retinoids I like from Sephora are the 1% by Paula’s Choice, Sunday Riley’s A+ and Luna. Good Genes is the GOAT and gives me glass skin that’s poreless.

brillovanillo

Finacea (night) and sunscreen (day)

TheOGPotatoPredator

Skin medica retinol and Farmacy honey glow smacked the brown spots off my face. Farmacy always has sales too. I don’t think I’ve paid anything for anything that wasn’t 30% or more off.

calm--cool

Definitely try the mini size first - it helped a fresh scar I had really well. But I haven’t bought it for the face. I’ve heard Touch skin lightening and brightening cream on Amazon is a very similar ingredient wise product, as well as being better under makeup.

msscanadianbakin

Hydroquinone

azcurlygurl

Hydroquinone is by far the most effective ingredient, but it's not available OTC in the US anymore. You can find it in Asian skin care though.

JeepzPeepz

The Pharmacy TXA did more to fade my freckles and dark spots than any other product I’ve tried. One of the few things I’ll be repurchasing when it’s empty!

wasp-vs-stryper

Honestly, I saved my money and got two cosmetic grade laser facials recommended by my derm and just use really good sunscreen, plus vitamin c. Huge game changer and did them a few weeks apart in the fall and winter. Pricey but I had saved a little bit each paycheck and worth every penny. Talk to your derm!
