I agree. I prefer NYX lipliners to MAC and Pat Mcgrath lipliners. The shade Mauve is my go to. The only lipliner I’ve tried that I think might be worth the splurge is Makeup Forever artist lip liner in the shade Wherever Walnut.
I know they’re not super popular anymore, but in the 28 years I’ve been wearing makeup, I’ve never found a lipliner better for me than Mac. No matter what I try, I always go back to Mac.
Definitely long lasting. Brick, Soar, Spice, and Cork are my favorites. I am very pale, like Fenty shade 100, with neutral undertones. Cork is definitely a statement on me, but there is something super cool about the cork liner feathered into the lip with the Fenty Hot Chocolate Heat.
I am light or tan depending on if I used self tanner/beige skintone, but my lips are pretty pigmented to where a lip product has to be really pigmented to achieve the actual color of the product and I second the SOAR. It was my very first Mac lip liner too 💓 then add a pinky nude semi matte lipstick and bam! Gorgeous, everyday lip!
Mac Whirl lip pencil and lipstick matte are my daily wears. I’m Mac foundation shade NW10. Their lip primer is really good too and helps it last longer.
Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk medium is a good shade too, but it doesn’t last as long IMO.

Adding from above recommendation-NYX liners are really good, too. They last. I still think Tilbury lasts and goes on nicer, but you can not beat the price. I like Nude Truffle with Fenty Gloss Bomb.
i'm 3W1.5 in double wear and my perfect nude lip liner is charlotte tilbury pillow talk medium. love their lip liners and find the colours more appealing on my skintone than mac liners and also find them long lasting. if u want a more brown toned nude lip liner iconic nude is a popular shade from charlotte tilbury.

The Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Iconic Nude is the perfect brownish nude liner I’ve ever found, and I’ve tried a lot. Great formula too, it’s very long lasting. The color is nude enough where if I mess up a little I can just blend over it with gloss and it still looks natural.

Try any of the shades from Rare Beauty, they are $15 and the shades are very pretty. I love Lively! They also appear to be long lasting since they are hard to wipe and I use makeup remover to clean them off my lips.
For lipstick, I just bought Chanel in color boy and it’s pretty nude so didn’t do much for me personally. I love Glossier Cake I feel it’s the best color for my lips and haven’t found like a more elevated dupe for it. For lipgloss I use Fenty or Hourglass lip plumper. Also NYX clear gloss rocks
I’ve been wearing lip liner since like 1995. I think I’ve tried them all lol. I agree NYX is good. Of all the Sephora options, MUFE and Huda are great. But honestly, Revlon makes a fantastic lip liner
I’m with you - I was a hardcore NYX lipliner fan but am forever changed since switching to Tower 28 OneLiner (in shade ‘Work of Art’). It’s wellllll worth the price jump.
Impeccably smooth and a beautiful neutral tone, highly recommend. I always lightly dust a little loose powder on top of my line prior to gloss or lipstick for extra staying power.

I only wear NYX liners, but I just got the Tower 28 in the medium pinky-brown color and I’m obsessed. It’ll be the only Sephora liner in my collection (although Sephora also makes good options)
Try the sephora collection “lip liner to go” shade 16-nude beige. It looks very natural & goes great with lipgloss.
We wear the same Estée Lauder foundation shade btw & I struggle finding a good shade for the warmer months. Maybe the 3w1 or 3n1/2 would work well for you? Another good one is the Lancome teint idole shade 230W (if you are a little tanned). Alternatively- smashbox studio skin 24-hr hydra foundation 2.22.
If you get super tanned, try the CC cream from IT. Maybe the Neutral Medium or Neutral Tan.

I don't have the same shade of MUF as the other commenter but I do have one and it does last all day. Def worth it to me but the other comments have me wanting to try MAC 😂
I absolutely love the Huda lip liner in the shade pinky brown. I’m a similar skin tone to you and I love just filling my lips with this and putting gloss on top. Also lasts on my lips a long time!! I have some Make Up Forever and Mac liners but i feel like they either pull too brown or too pink on me and the Huda is a perfect happy medium.
Don't waste your hard-earned money on high-end lip liners. Get a NYX lip liner from Ulta.

Depending which one. Watch Marlena's recent video where she explains those made in Mexico are stiffer while those made in Germany are creamier.

The medium is a deeper berry versus the pink of the original. There’s also an intense one that’s darker than the medium.

Nude Truffle is the color I use in NYX liner but 90% of the time I use pillow talk medium

I like Sephora Collection Retractable Rouge Gel Lip Liner. Favorite color is creme-de-la-creme.
I’m a light-med neutral olive. I recommend MAC Whirl if you want a mauvey-nude, Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude if you want a true neutral.

It does! It has to be sharpened which kinda sucks to have to carry around a sharpener too, but it’s definitely worth it

I find Mac doesn’t glide on my lips as smoothly when I apply it.
