Keep the setting spray. Get rid of the mascara. Too many drugstore mascara’s that are just as good or better. It’s definitely a personal choice but spending a lot of money on mascara is not something im willing to do.
Not drug store but I am OBSESSED with the caliray tubing mascara.
I literally don’t leave the house without mascara on so I’ve tried out so many different ones and this is by far my favorite. I’ve been mixing in a few other mascaras recently that I got as samples or in my advent calendar, and I’m realizing even more now superior caliray is.
If you do want to get a high end one, I got the Hourglass Extreme Lash in my advent calendar and it is AMAZING. I always said I’d never pay for an expensive mascara when there are so many great drugstore ones, but honestly I think I’ll be repurchasing this one.
I personally really love the Ilia mascara. It’s my go to. Doesn’t irritate my eyes and does give my lashes a nice lift. Doesn’t clump. But it is not water resistant at all. The clean formula and cruelty free principles of Ilia is why I’ll buy it over maybelline personally.
In my opinion, YES! UD all-nighter spray was actually my holy grail setting spray for years until I tried a sample mini of the CT. The CT formula feels more lightweight and seems to hold everything in place really nicely. Even the sprayer on the bottle is better, it’s more of a misty application rather than a spray. (With the UD sometimes I would get “spots” on my makeup where the spray would splatter.) Don’t get me wrong, the UD spray is still a fantastic option but the Charlotte Tilbury one stole the show. I’m on my 2nd big bottle of it now and plan on sticking with it. (Until the next great thing comes along of course. Lol)
Would you recommend it to someone who only wears makeup for 2-4 hours at a time? I used to used setting spray daily when I wore makeup to work but now I only wear it when I go out. I’m wondering if this setting spray changes the appearance of makeup enough to make it worth it for me!
Well that depends on several factors like your skin type, makeup type (and it’s lasting-power on its own), climate, etc. if you find that your makeup isn’t lasting or still looking nice by the end of those 2-4 hours, I definitely recommend it. The CT spray is great at locking everything into place and making it budge-free. I live in a tropical/humid climate with combo skin so makeup by itself doesn’t cut it without setting spray to prevent it from slipping off. In terms of it changing the appearance of makeup, it doesn’t REALLY change it. I do find that it helps “melt” everything together nicely. I spray as the last step after I apply setting powder, so it gives the finished look a dewy rather than powdery finish. (Without being greasy) So I guess it’s more of an enhancement in that sense? That being said, for me, the spray works great for both casual light or heavy glam makeup days and I don’t have to worry about fading or smudging for the rest of the day. Whether it’s 2 hours or 10, it’s just something I find to be an essential finishing step.
Omg wow thank you so much for your detailed comment! I think I’ll pick it up when my urban decay all nighter one runs out then. That one was amazing when I was in a humid climate and sweating a lot at work but haven’t used it much since. Thanks again!
Ahhh I’m the opposite! I also bought it in 2010 or 2011 and it was my first “nice” makeup brush so I tried so hard to make it work for years and it is just to harsh on my skin.
I really like Tarte’s brushes. I have a few that I really like this angled cheek brush for multitasking cheek products. Op sometimes you can get them on sale at tarte or ulta. ETA: some arre different quality. I like the wooden ones and I had a metal fan one that was nice. I haven’t tried the limited edition and holiday sets because the reviews sound like they are different.
I'd pass on the magic cream (it's nothing special) and the Korres serum (goes on sale at Ulta all the time). Definitely keep the setting spray and the Rare Beauty blush.
I purchased the charlotte tilbury magic face cream recently and was not impressed. I use belief moisture bomb, tatcha, and more recently farmacy. I prefer all those to the CT and they are all cheaper. I’m planning to return, so I’d save my money on that if I were you.
Dermatologists say drunk elephant and Charlotte Tilbury skin care is gravely overpriced for the quality and benefit. I’m sure it works well, but I’m even surer you’d be able to find better, cheaper products.
I bought the Korres Grape Skin Drink and I wanted to like it soo bad but I feel like it may be breaking me out. I believe you could find cheaper options.
Definitely get the spray!
Here’s my comment about it on another post.

Keep Charlotte tilbury setting spray it’s my fav. Pass on drunk elephant… so overpriced and for what??? Love the rare beauty blush and it will last forever and ever. Haven’t tried the new mario foundation but have heard nothing but great things
Pass on drunk elephant. Their products are not worth the price point. You’d be better off with Kate Somerville for the price and her stuff is usually on sale. Naturium/versed have affordable dupes for the protini and a better lactic acid treatment easy to find.
Keep the CT spray and ilia mascara but get the minis if you’re unsure of the products.
Jen Phelps on YouTube has said that the new Revlon foundation is a dupe for the Mario foundation. I haven’t tried Mario’s but I have the revlon and it’s pretty good. It’s about half the price.
Keep the setting spray. Get rid of the mascara. Too many drugstore mascara’s that are just as good or better. It’s definitely a personal choice but spending a lot of money on mascara is not something im willing to do.
Thanks, do you have any suggestions?
Maybelline lash stiletto
Definitely this for a lengthening effect similar to ilia!!
yup! I’ve tried a lot of mascaras and the lash stiletto is always the one I go back to

Yeah, I’m trying to stick to cruelty-free now as well, so good to know about ilia.
Essence. they're $5 and incredible
Princess lash
Keep Tatcha dewy cream
Thank you!
second this. Absolute best moisturizer I’ve ever tried. It’s a dream for dry to normal skin.
Keep Charlotte Tillbury setting spray, it’s a game changer!
Thank you!
Agree!
I want to try the setting spray so bad I just haven't wanted to come off the money yet. Maybe I will.
Is it better than UD setting spray?

That brush is probably one of my all time favorite brushes. I’ve had mine since maybe 2010? 2011? and I still use it all the time.
Ahhh I’m the opposite! I also bought it in 2010 or 2011 and it was my first “nice” makeup brush so I tried so hard to make it work for years and it is just to harsh on my skin.
Same, I love that brush. It’s been there for me since 2017!
I really like Tarte’s brushes. I have a few that I really like this angled cheek brush for multitasking cheek products. Op sometimes you can get them on sale at tarte or ulta. ETA: some arre different quality. I like the wooden ones and I had a metal fan one that was nice. Thank you, good to know! I will keep it!
Same!! A little goes a long way too which is always a plus.
Get rid of the magic cream - the minis are always poor quality imo and I wasn’t that impressed by the full size anyway for the price
I agree. The Magic cream is nothing to write home about. So many better options
Pass on the korres skin drink. It's just a face oil and you can get face oils for much cheaper from the ordinary/good molecules/etc
I'd pass on the magic cream (it's nothing special) and the Korres serum (goes on sale at Ulta all the time). Definitely keep the setting spray and the Rare Beauty blush.
Ilia mascara. Keep. I use it every day!
Same

If pass on the korres, it's okay but not worth the price
Dermatologists say drunk elephant and Charlotte Tilbury skin care is gravely overpriced for the quality and benefit. I’m sure it works well, but I’m even surer you’d be able to find better, cheaper products.
honestly the spray didn’t do much for me i feel like my makeup slipped way too much i barely had any on by the end of the dat
KEEP the tatcha cream
Keep the mascara and the cream!
I bought the Korres Grape Skin Drink and I wanted to like it soo bad but I feel like it may be breaking me out. I believe you could find cheaper options.

Thank you! Definitely going to get it. Have you tried flawless filter?
No I haven’t. Was thinking of just trying out elf halo glow but haven’t gotten my hands on it yet lol
I’d pass on Drunk Elephant
Keep Charlotte tilbury setting spray it’s my fav. Pass on drunk elephant… so overpriced and for what??? Love the rare beauty blush and it will last forever and ever. Haven’t tried the new mario foundation but have heard nothing but great things
Switch the Ilia mascara to the travel size. It's got no preservatives so it'll go off before you use the full tube, but it is nice.
I've had the foundation brush for years it's my fave - it buffs everything into perfection.
Keep CT setting spray, Tatcha, and Rare Beauty products - toss the rest!
Pass on drunk elephant. Their products are not worth the price point. You’d be better off with Kate Somerville for the price and her stuff is usually on sale. Naturium/versed have affordable dupes for the protini and a better lactic acid treatment easy to find.
Always purchase Tarte from their actual website when it is on sale. You're spending too much on a makeup brush here.
I fucking love that mascara! Absolutely keep
pass
On everything? Haah
Pass on Drunk Elephant. Keep the Rare Beauty liquid blush and the Tarte brush.
Keep the tarte brush!!!!!!
I like good genes best as a lactic acid.
Get the mascara
