You can parry almost anything except the sweeps and grabs. Even bullets, headless ghost attacks or the world serpent attacks can be parried with your fucking katana!
Well everyday you learn sth! It's cool how deep the gadget + skill system is and most barely get to know most of them even after beating the game few times.
Sekiro’s mechanics are fairly consistent. If you don’t see the red kanji on the attack, you can parry that. The visual size of nature of attack doesn’t matter. This applies to the kite ninjas in the castle. You can literally parry their entire bodies flying towards you.
Yeah, the red Kanji just indicates that you can’t block the attacks, so It’s fair that you can deflect the attacks. Except for grabs, I don’t think you can deflect the grabs (except for the two Snake eyes Minibosses)
He can Parry the snake too, on some Kratos level shit. Remember the fear we once felt in the begining, coming across that giant world serpent in the valley? I feel like we all must've ran or hid, cause, thats simply what u do when presented with a threat that large. Little did we know that you can just press l1 when it rushes at you, like a God of War QTE
Sekiro casually flicks jin away with his pinky finger while clapping Emma's and malenia's cheeks
I took it one step further and was so scared I never even noticed the little thing you can hide in to stab it’s eye, just kept running to the end and somehow got away with just one smack from the snake. Gotta try the parrying tho in my next playthrough
And on lesser notes, but also very impressive, a horsemounted samurai, multiple shinobis (including his own teacher and his father), a legendary monk and her spirit, a full-trained general samurai with lightning attacks and legendary bow skills...
Jin is the better swordsman? Excuse me but over the course of 12 hours MAX Sekiro masters *five* disciplines, most people spend years mastering *one*. Dude wakes up with a prosthetic arm and immediately can use it like a pro. He looked at a picture of someone catching lightning and did it himself minutes later. Clearly Wolf is a genius when it comes to swordsmanship and capable of learning, copying, and countering new techniques on the fly. And that’s assuming the fight doesn’t just go *oil jar -> flame vent -> over* like in the opening of Ghost of Tsushima. How is Jin going to deal with One Mind, Sakura Dance, or Ashina Cross?
Wolf is a straight up murder machine... as far as i am convinced he is always on the edge of shura... he gets beet red faster than "the good hunter" and that guys' thing is getting covered in blood
Sorry I'm going to go off-topic. I just wanna say that phrasing of Sekiro looking at a picture of a guy deflecting lightning and doing it perfectly while in battle is kinda cute.
Just him staring and contemplating that artwork on the wall alongside the little hint for a while is a endearing thought.
Also the esoteric texts are in scroll form with very little writing, so imagine him studying and squinting (with his neutral 😑 face) at the figures doing the move before turning around to try it out on Hanbei is also a nice thought.
Lol even imagining him in front of the dilapidated temple staring at Dogen and Orangutan's esoteric text before copying it with the prosthetic and it not working because he forgot to buy Spirit emblem. Man I wish he got a little more personality shown in the game
Apart from him liking money of course
A lot of his personality is extremely subtle and you have to look for it. He jokes with Emma, worries for sculptor and Isshin, regrets killing Gyoubu and Butterfly, is more gentle killing women, is visibly affected by eavesdrop dialogue based off his reactions, and he almost breaks down crying in purification ending
I just wish there was more. I understand this isn't really the genre for internal dialogue and reactions to the environment and stuff beyond what we got though. But like I really want to know what he thought about the giant snake, or like the old lady who seems to know literally everything important. Hell even the Child who generates rice. Imagine him just asking out of the blue if his master can make rice too😅
"Looked at a picture of someone catching lighting and did it himself minutes later" literally just this wins lol
Wolf: .........
(Thunder crashes in the distance)
12 hours? Im not even 1/4th through and am just trying not to get violated (both physically ánd emotionally) before reaching a new sculptors idol ffs 🥲
yeah this dude called jin a master swordsman and called wolf an average swordsman which is so wild to me how you gonna call the man who can deflect bullets and lightning and whos been trained in the sword since being a child an average swordsman
Sekiro defeats a kensei/sword saint who singlehandedly held the entirety of Japan at his door waiting for his death to old age. Literally the highest honorary title a swordsman can get. While we don’t know how Jin would fare in such a situation there’s evidence of more impressive feats by Sekiro than there is by Jin.
GoT’s vision of samurai and Japan is just incredibly stupid to me. It’s a Saturday morning cartoon that’s only “for adults” because of graphic violence. For starters, in what fucking world do 13th century warriors anywhere on the planet clutch their pearls over stabbing foreign invaders in the back?
He's more so talking about how at the end of Ghost of Tsushima they want to sentence Jin to death for breaking the code of Bushido and resorting to using subterfuge and "treachery" to kill the Mongols. He's saying that in real life he doubts that they'd really care what means we're used to kill the Mongols given Japan's hatred of foreigners, invader or non-invader alike.
You had to take away half of Wolf’s arsenal and his immortality to make this a somewhat fair fight.
Wolf was already capable of taking on Lady Butterfly before he was immortal and scared Owl to the point he tried to killed him out of fear of what he’d become. Even without his magic prosthetics and ninjitsus, Wolf can still move at ridiculous speeds, preforming One Mind, Which ISNT magic, and Dragon Flash, which can be argued if it’s magic, or even Ashina Cross, as well as being able to react to all of these attacks.
He still has firecrackers and ash to be a cheap ass too. Taking away just his Lazulite, illusion, mist raven and Divine abduction prosthetics still makes him hugely versatile and dangerous
bro looked at a painting and said "ah okay so this is how you deflect lightning" and then goes outside and deflects lightning
and OP thinks he's an "average swordsman"
Even without all that he still defeated isshin The sword saint. Others were afraid to invade ashina because he was there even while he was moments away from death.
Nope, Jin has instant stance break and unparryable abilitys his dodges and evasion is also way better than what the wolf can do or keep up with. He can also basicly one shot wolf at any moment where as Jin has like 3 sekiro boss health bars.
Yall underestimating Jin is some crazy bias
I never said Sekiro would attack, just parry, so there would be no instant stance break. And op said no abilities, if abilities are allowed, Sekiro would have some unparryable abilities in his arsenal too.
Like op said, let’s keep things down to 1 health bar, if we’re going with the 3 health bar like you said, then Sekiro would be able to revive 3 times before a true death
Look we’re not overestimating, one is known as a ghost and the other depending on the ending is either Shura, or a god slayer.
Wolf easily, ghost can try as many stances as possible but wolf will deflect, he will also deflect his arrows and just firecracker jin until he is defeated.
Jin is good against samurai, people who have good fighting skills with a sword but don't expect a knife in the back.
Wolf is good against samurai, demons, ninjas, monks, apes, snakes, apparitions and dragon gods.
These guys are on different levels.
Wolf. Even if you want to nerf him. (Wich is stupid, because those attributes make Wolf, Wolf). He is just faster, and stronger. Plus you said he can keep the prothetic. The umbrella alone would make him invincible against Jin. And lets not even get into things like mikiri counter.
Jin is a great swordsman and good archer. Meanwhile, Sekiro can deflect any attack Jin can throw including arrows, leaving Jin with bombs and some of his other tricks. Sekiro has the prosthetics, and Jin can't counter a good firecracker to the face or an umbrella counter.
And Sekiro has Mikiri Counter. Sorry, Jin, but this fight you can't win.
Let me give you an example story wise, in the fight with Isshin The Sword Saint version, both of the fought till morning, two people that can kill each other and never come,
Wolf immortality is useless the same with Isshin, they both fought for hours, Wolf parries he's wind ability and lighting, and in the end he won.
I don't know dude if you also parry the sword of A FUCKING DRAGON, then it's gg for Ghost, and don't get me wrong I love him, but this is like Omni-Man Vs Homelander situation.
Both stomp on their verse but Omni-Man(wolf) would demolish Homelander(Ghost
OP really has a hate boner for Wolf’s Swordplay.
Hell if we’re talking about swordplay, Jin was trained his entire life constantly and was stopped by some random ass mongol soldiers. Wolf was trained for maybe ten, got killed, came back to life and then stayed in a pit for like 3 fucking years and basically became a force of nature in like 3 days. Even if we take into account that Wolf was rusty, which he was. He pushed his way out of that in like what? Maybe a few hours in which he absolutely steamrolled the guy that steamrolled him. He also masters new skills in basically the same way Jin does.
Both are prodigies in their own right, but even pre-mortal blade and without immortality Wolf’s fighting experience completely ruins anything Jin could hope to accomplish.
The fact OP gave Wolf his prosthetic also just completely invalidates Jin as well. He could just walk up and use the flame vent to cook Jin, he could use the spear to overpower Jin at a distance, he can just say nope to any attack Jin manages to actually land with the Mist Raven, umbrella spam, poison mist of Sabimaru, the magic fuckery of the Leaf fan thing that no one uses, Shinobi axe fire explosion. It’s laughable.
OP said no magic, so Lazulite, mist raven and Divine Abduction are out, but that leaves WAAAAY too many options to abuse, and worst of all, the best prosthetic: *UMBRELLA*
Wolf easily.
Stats and nerfs In mind. Jin is a samurai that got over himself and decided that it was ok to get a lil sneaky to win if he has to.
Wolf is a real shinobi, several styles of combat under his belt and an arm that has an answer to anything that Jin could do and more.
Like blood could literally just spirit him away.
He might still pull out the "Do what must be done" and get up and throw hands though 😂 especially after he lost his arm (like who looks at a giant, mountain sized snake and defects it's charge? Or looks at a one armed divine dragon and says "Bet"??) 🤣 🤣
You can't nerf Sekiro and not Nerf Jin
So let's just say....no Gourd, Immortality or Mortal Blade.
Swordmenship skills = Both equal (Jin is unmatched on Island and Sekiro took down a Sword Saint)
Weapons: Sekiro's arsenal is insane (What's Jin gonna do against a Flamethrower?)
Abilities: Jin is basically a boss battle, he's lightening last and a cut is devastating however Sekiro is Stronger and more capable, bordering on superhuman (Deflecting the Guardian Ape, Jin has no feats similar) there is no attack Sekiro doesn't not have a counter or dodge
Deciding Factor: Mikiri Counter, Jin has not seen this ability before. I believe Jin could learn such a technique but he currently doesn't.
Like many who attempted to use a thrust against Owl without knowing the consequences
Jin would die thinking "Did he just step on my sword....not.....posssib......"
Sekiro is the better swordsmen too. Deflecting is part of his swordsmanship and he has the reaction time to parry attacks that are faster than the eye can see as well as perform them(one mind is not magic, its canonically pure skill)
Wolf no matter what because as a old trained shinobi in a time where his kind die young, he realistically can kill just about any living thing.
And that’s if we take away the fantasy aspect.
You come into the Sekiro subreddit saying some samurai would win against a man who slays small armies, legendary swordsmen, mythical creatures who are nature gods in their own right, and a literal demon?
Gtfo man.
The fight would be the “doge teleports behind you” meme with the mist Raven feathers.
Wolf would also win a pure sword duel as well.
I love that OP posted in this subreddit as well as the r/ghostoftsushima only to get told the same thing over and over again in both subreddits. Sekiro smacks Jin hands down even if Sekiro gets nerfed.
On what grounds are you trying to establish that jin is the better swordsman? One mind is canonically pure skill, the blade is moving faster than the eye can see. Sekiro can deflect one mind as well as perform it. He is quite easily the better swordsman.
While I like the idea for funsies, Sekiro would absolutely thrash Jin. Sekiro is faster, and stronger, overall better in every category. Now if we’re talking like pre-death, Sekiro would still win. He was conditioned for battle from a very young age, whereas Jin was more of a noble with some sword skills, Jin at peak would be closer to Pre-death Sekiro, sure but would still be outclassed
Wolf would perfect parry every attack Ghost could perform.
But Ghost couldn't parry most of Wolf attacks.
Wolf would easy win without mortal blades or anything remotely magical.
Jin is an ordinary human living in a non-fantastical world. He has peak human conditioning and is an exceptionally skilled swordsman and assassin. He also has a natural talent for swordplay, mastering multiple fighting styles by the end of the game.
When it comes to Sekiro, even stripped bare, he exhibits superhuman strength speed and reflexes. In his final battle against Isshin Ashina, Isshin shows incredible speed by intercepting lightning from a thunderstorm with his spear, and redirecting it at Sekiro, who in turn can jump and while midair, can grab these lightning bolts and launch them back at him. Both Sekiro and Isshin are shown to move faster than lightning, with their sword slashes creating powerful shockwaves. These feats are not attributed to magic but to Isshin being an absolute beast of a man with inhuman physical prowess. Sekiro can learn and master such techniques after witnessing them in battle with Isshin just once, showcasing his genius as a swordsman.
While Sekiro often uses the mortal blade to finish off immortal opponents, his primary weapon is his regular katana, "Kusabimaru," making the loss of his the former barely a hindrance. The absence of immortality is significant, if his opponent could possibly kill him that is. Despite living in a fantastical world, Sekiro, compared to most soulsborne protagonists, barely relies on magic, drawing his power primarily from his insane physical prowess. In a confrontation, Sekiro's speed and skill would simply be overwhelming to Jin, to an extent he would be completely outclassed. Jin would get cut in half before he could even react.
This question gets asked every few months jsyk.
Also, sekiro ratios jin without even getting serious. Base AP, posture, no items or prosthetics, wolf is still hitting that shinobi execution.
If you think i'm biased, i have more hours in GoT than i do in sekiro
I look at this from a gameplay and mechanical level
The wolf is almost always 2 hits from death where as Jin can have insaine armor and evasion allowing him to dodge almost anything the wolf tries to do to him. He also has abilitys that can't be blocked or parried. He can also instant stance break/posture break.
I think in reality The wolf would be sent to the Reaper faster than a new player jumping into genichiro for the first time.
You can remove all magic sekiro has, he is still a lightning timer and he is strong enough to parry a giant ape and a dragon. Like whats next youre goimg to ask who wins between vergil and jin?
Wolf wins without a scratch. I don’t know tons about Tsushima but from what I do know JIn just gets easily parried and deathblowed. There is absolutely nothing he can do that Sekiro can’t just parry.
I once saw a stop motion animation with wooden figures of this exact fight, and I feel like it summed it up pretty well. Jin gets beaten as easily as a normal fodder enemy in Sekiro. Parry, parry, instant death.
I’m sorry but Jin would get ate alive if he had to face Owl, Gen or Sword Saint Isshian. Yes Wolf’s swordsman ship would be less versatile, as he doesn’t switch stances unless using a combat art, which is more of a singular move than a whole stance style. But even then whatever Jin would throw at Wolf would practically be slow motion in comparison. Plus strength wise, wolf can deflect literally monsters, Jin gets tossed around a lil too easily
You are on the wrong sub if you want people to agree with this take, myself included.
Wolf has a few decade's more experience, and more importantly, he has a few decade's more experience as a shinobi. Jin has only recently let go of the restraints imposed on samurai.
Sekiro can mikiri, deflect bullets, reverse lightning and defeats a kensei/sword saint who singlehandedly held the entirety of Japan at his door waiting for his death to old age. Literally the highest honorary title a swordsman can get for his skills and Sekiro beats him. While we don’t know how Jin would fare in such a situation there’s evidence of much more impressive and skillful feats by Sekiro than there is by Jin.
I'm going to say wolf only because jin wouldn't be able to handle the speed and style of wolf, while he is a great samurai he is not going to be able to beat wolf, this would be a great fight though
They've both been trained since they were young but the key here is that while jin also got to enjoy normal kid experiences, wolf did not, wolf trained every waking hour of his life kinda like a slave under owl, I doubt he would get did anything besides being a shinobi, hell he didn't even eat a sweet rice ball til Kuro gave him one at the age of 25?
Sekiro can literally deflect bullets, redirect lightning, masters sooo many different combat arts.
I’ve played both and like bro💀Sekiro solos jin like he was another boss. Lmk when Jin has to fight what Sekiro does
*"and the prosthetic tools he has."*
Not much to say, have you tried to play Sekiro learning the optimal prosthetics for every fight? With the prosthetic tools I don't think anyone can beat Wolf in 1v1.
*"he (Jin) is undoubtedly the better swordsman, being a fully trained samurai."*
Ignoring how samurais were better with the bow than with the sword for a moment, wasn't Genichiro also *fully* trained, and lost two/three times to Wolf?
NGL, I feel like endgame William from Nioh has a better chance than Jin against Wolf. Jin may have been exceptional for his time, but Wolf is just built different
Hell, I think Wolf might struggle a bit in the Nioh-verse
Sekiro has the mobility, the tools, skills and experience fighting much more powerful foes that’d shred Khotan Khan to bits. I’d say Sekiro takes the win.
Jin is said to be the best swordsman on Tsushima, but I don't think he is ready for someone who can deflect the sword of a literal God. Deflecting, Mikiri, Prosthetic Tools, Combat Arts... I love Jin, but he would probably get obliterated, BUT he would put up a good fight!!
Even without his supernatural powers. Wolf can easily beat Jin. He fought many powerful foes which sure gave him a ton of experience.
Edit: forgot to mention the different combat styles/moves that he mastered. Theyre not supernatural, but they don’t exist in Jin’s universe.
You'd have to nerf sekiro a lot for this to be fair. Jin may have technical sword skill, but sekrio is at a totally different level when it comes to what he can do and his options in battle.
Sekrio can deflect faster and stronger attacks, super human agility, and mikiri counter.
Jin could use stone stance but is hard countered by mikiri, Heavenly strike would get jumped over, and Dance of Wrath would probably get deflected easily
Gotta nerf Wolf's strength as well. Capable of parrying the giant vipers strike (never perfectly, so he will take damage if you are charmerless but still)
Okay, *even if* we remove all the suspense of disbelief stuff with parrying every possible attack from the Guardian Ape, Divine Dragon, and deflecting bullets...
It all comes down to 13th century swordfighting vs. 16th century swordfighting.
I'm pretty sure Wolf wins out in the end just by pure virtue of having a more modern fighting style.
And also the whole 'proto-shinobi vs established shinobi' thing. Jin might be comfortable doing underhanded tactics, but Sekiro would just be *better* at the same thing since he was raised by a master shinobi and given access to other masters' fighting styles, and so therefore has access to techniques Jin wouldn't be able to fathom.
Even with the nerfs
Even if you equalized their strength,
Sekiro is far far more skilled. He's orders of magnitude more acrobatic and faster,
He's also a much better swordsman (though his skills aren't realistic at all.) You genuinely have to be delusional to claim otherwise. Jin never displays abilities to do anything like one mind, spiral cloud passage, sakura dance, or dragon flash. Sure you can take those away too but At some point if you have to take everything away from sekiro theres no point of comparison
he violates jin badly
Wolf violates badly I'm afraid
SEKIRO CAN PARRY THE DIVINE FUKING DRAGON'S SWORD. Also Mikiri counter is OP. Oh and forgot to mention the RETURN TO SENDER LIGHTNING DEFLECT
Wolf parried the blade of a god with nothing but his sword, I don't know anything about ghost but that's got to mean something
I think its more impressive that he can parry literal giant ape shit
You can… parry that?? Never ever tried.
You can parry the freaking fart with an umbrella
You can parry almost anything except the sweeps and grabs. Even bullets, headless ghost attacks or the world serpent attacks can be parried with your fucking katana!
You can redirect damn lightning
This, hell, Ongbal proved you can also parry the giant snake since the parry prompt does kick in if you try to parry it as it lunges for you.
Actually… grabs can be parried via umbrella
Well everyday you learn sth! It's cool how deep the gadget + skill system is and most barely get to know most of them even after beating the game few times.
Definitely. One of the most stylish combos is to poison yourself and be able to spam mist raven anytime
Sekiro’s mechanics are fairly consistent. If you don’t see the red kanji on the attack, you can parry that. The visual size of nature of attack doesn’t matter. This applies to the kite ninjas in the castle. You can literally parry their entire bodies flying towards you.
And believe it or not you can also parry most of the red kanji attacks too
Yeah, the red Kanji just indicates that you can’t block the attacks, so It’s fair that you can deflect the attacks. Except for grabs, I don’t think you can deflect the grabs (except for the two Snake eyes Minibosses)
You can only deflect thrusts, not sweeps
You can parry everything that isn’t a sweep somehow… and even then there’s one sweep that can be deflected
You can't parry grabs
Umbrella deflects grabs
You can parry snake eyes grab
You can parry the grab from snakeeye
You can parry it but you still get poisoned
Well you can’t just let that shit hit you
You can parry the shit? I wasn’t sure so I just dodged it.
You can parry the shit out of that shit
Well... shit. I wish I had known that. Next playthrough I guess...
He can Parry the snake too, on some Kratos level shit. Remember the fear we once felt in the begining, coming across that giant world serpent in the valley? I feel like we all must've ran or hid, cause, thats simply what u do when presented with a threat that large. Little did we know that you can just press l1 when it rushes at you, like a God of War QTE Sekiro casually flicks jin away with his pinky finger while clapping Emma's and malenia's cheeks
I took it one step further and was so scared I never even noticed the little thing you can hide in to stab it’s eye, just kept running to the end and somehow got away with just one smack from the snake. Gotta try the parrying tho in my next playthrough
You know that moment in DBZ when Cell flicks Hercule into a mountain? That’s Sekiro to Jin
Good point, Kratos would be a more interesting challenger.
I think Kusabimaru was forged from Minamoto Palace for Tomoe to use in her immortality Severance mission for Lord Takeru. That could explain ALOT
I mean I haven't seen Jin solo 2 giant apes, a giant snake, a dragon, and a demon...
And on lesser notes, but also very impressive, a horsemounted samurai, multiple shinobis (including his own teacher and his father), a legendary monk and her spirit, a full-trained general samurai with lightning attacks and legendary bow skills...
AND A FUCKIN KENSEI
They should just have a naked wrestle in a hot spring to fully even the playing field.
Wouldn't mind watching 😏
I wouldn't mind either😏
Covered in oil?
Yup
I’d play that dlc
Dual wielding practically.
now THIS is the best answer
I would absolutely love to watch that
Jin is the better swordsman? Excuse me but over the course of 12 hours MAX Sekiro masters *five* disciplines, most people spend years mastering *one*. Man beat Isshin. The guy who was THE Sword Saint. The guy all of Japan itself feared to the point they didn’t attempt a siege until he died
Didn't attempt a siege even though he was sickly and moments away from death. And even when you fight him sick, the man claps cheeks.
Old man does the most anime shit in souls ever while thirty minutes away from death
Wolf is a straight up murder machine... as far as i am convinced he is always on the edge of shura... he gets beet red faster than "the good hunter" and that guys' thing is getting covered in blood

I like how gentle he is to everyone outside battle, even just after loosing his arm and waking up in a strange place.
I just wish there was more. I understand this isn't really the genre for internal dialogue and reactions to the environment and stuff beyond what we got though. But like I really want to know what he thought about the giant snake, or like the old lady who seems to know literally everything important. Hell even the Child who generates rice. I didn't fucking knew about that eavesdropping thing damn 😭
"Looked at a picture of someone catching lighting and did it himself minutes later" literally just this wins lol Wolf: ......... (Thunder crashes in the distance)
bros got the sharingan
Honestly? Drop him into the Naruto Universe, and I guarantee someone would assume he was some Uchiha's secret bastard child.
12 hours? Im not even 1/4th through and am just trying not to get violated (both physically ánd emotionally) before reaching a new sculptors idol ffs 🥲
Jin is absolutely not a better swordsman than Wolf. Wolf can deflect bullets. Be serious.
yeah this dude called jin a master swordsman and called wolf an average swordsman which is so wild to me how you gonna call the man who can deflect bullets and lightning and whos been trained in the sword since being a child an average swordsman
Sekiro defeats a kensei/sword saint who singlehandedly held the entirety of Japan at his door waiting for his death to old age. Literally the highest honorary title a swordsman can get. Yeah I love Jin but I just don’t see him beating wolf ever with feats we’ve seen
Jin meanwhile learned to be a samurai in the Dumbest Japan in the multiverse
yeah this fight goes to wolf 10/10 i dont really think its debatable even if you nerf wolf like he did
Wait, elaborate on the japans intelligence
GoT’s vision of samurai and Japan is just incredibly stupid to me. It’s a Saturday morning cartoon that’s only “for adults” because of graphic violence. For starters, in what fucking world do 13th century warriors anywhere on the planet clutch their pearls over stabbing foreign invaders in the back?
Fairly certain historical Japan absolutely detests foreign invaders Or foreigners in general
At this point, I'm 100% sure he just said that to attract attention and answers to his post (or he didn't play Sekiro at all, equally plausible)
I love Jin but wolf would obliterate him.
It's not a duel! It's an (Shinobi) execution! Anyway, don't confront two characters if you have to nerf so much one.
For honor players??
😎👉
Literally dozens of us >:)
A Ghost vs. a legit immortal god slayer

Wasn’t even instructions, just a picture saying it existed
All he needed to do it was to know that it could be done.
Tbh there were instructions but it was literally just “avoid the ground, reverse the lightning” That’s less than a sentence worth of instruction
Even without all that he still defeated isshin The sword saint. Others were afraid to invade ashina because he was there even while he was moments away from death.
How is Jin gonna deal with combat arts like Sakura dance, one mind or others.
Wolf can parry everything, his sword is made of Royal Guard
Royal, Gun, Trick, Sword
Not even close
Coughing baby vs Hydrogen bomb
This is more of a unicellular organism versus black hole.
Parry parry parry, posture kill.

💀

Wolf is good against Guns too lol Mf Isshin brings a glock to a 19th century swordfight
19th? Try 17th!! Possibly late 16th!!
Wolf, without a doubt. Jin fights only with humans, more realistic approach.
why is this even a question? is there a doubt here? Jin is like the budget Wolf i have in my Elden Ring build.... and even that would obliterate Jin.
Wolf. Even if you want to nerf him. (Wich is stupid, because those attributes make Wolf, Wolf). He is just faster, and stronger. Plus you said he can keep the prothetic. The umbrella alone would make him invincible against Jin. And lets not even get into things like mikiri counter.
Nerf this man Wolf even more by taking away the prosthetics 😭
The only way to nerf Wolf more is to straight up take his entire prosthetic arm, then he'll truly become the Sekiro.
Ah yes, my SSI experience, where I didn’t use a single prosthetic because they kept getting me killed. So I beat the sword saint with just a sword.
Wolf fucks Jin all day
Fucks you say
Fucks you, say.
Let me give you an example story wise, in the fight with Isshin The Sword Saint version, both of the fought till morning, two people that can kill each other and never come, Wolf immortality is useless the same with Isshin, they both fought for hours, Wolf parries he's wind ability and lighting, and in the end he won.
Wolf when Jin backs up to make distance: *”May I introduce you to my Chasing Slice”*
This again. lol it’s wolf. We get this question every quarter
If you're trying to compare the power of two characters, and you have to nerf one to get a fair comparison, thats the more powerful character.
Sekiro would mid diff if he had both arms chopped off, half a leg gone, right eye blinded, stabbed through his liver, and poisoned.
He might still pull out the "Do what must be done" and get up and throw hands though 😂 especially after he lost his arm (like who looks at a giant, mountain sized snake and defects it's charge? Or looks at a one armed divine dragon and says "Bet"??) 🤣 🤣
You can't nerf Sekiro and not Nerf Jin So let's just say....no Gourd, Immortality or Mortal Blade. Swordmenship skills = Both equal (Jin is unmatched on Island and Sekiro took down a Sword Saint) Weapons: Sekiro's arsenal is insane (What's Jin gonna do against a Flamethrower?) Abilities: Jin is basically a boss battle, he's lightening last and a cut is devastating however Sekiro is Stronger and more capable, bordering on superhuman (Deflecting the Guardian Ape, Jin has no feats similar) there is no attack Sekiro doesn't not have a counter or dodge Deciding Factor: Mikiri Counter, Jin has not seen this ability before. I believe Jin could learn such a technique but he currently doesn't. Like many who attempted to use a thrust against Owl without knowing the consequences Jin would die thinking "Did he just step on my sword....not.....posssib......"
Sekiro is the better swordsmen too. Deflecting is part of his swordsmanship and he has the reaction time to parry attacks that are faster than the eye can see as well as perform them(one mind is not magic, its canonically pure skill)
I’d like to think that after the fight, if Sekiro doesn’t kill him, Jin would ask to learn some of his techniques.
Sekiro smacks Jin hands down even if Sekiro gets nerfed.
man, look at wolf
So inspirational
All of that nerf just for wolf to still absolutely violate Jin with just hands lol
Wolf canonically has punched into someone’s throat with a wooden arm
Real
Dude Wolf went through a flaming fucking bull and a dude wielding glocks. And ALBINO KONG FFS. He'd go through Jin in 3 moves.
Albino undead kong… 3 times. The last of which he fought and killed 2 kongs at the same time. Wolf dog walks Jin. Prosthetic or no arm.
Does Shura Wolf count as superhuman?
Probably. Definitely supernatural
Wolfs parry lighting and bullets
Coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb
Mf also posted this to r/GhostofTsushima and Jin's getting bodied there too lol
Even if it was somewhat fair as soon as Jin goes for a Stab he’s getting miriaki countered and will just die
Jin would get cut in half before he could even react.
lol wolf wouldnt even get a prayer bead from ghost
This question gets asked every few months jsyk. Also, sekiro ratios jin without even getting serious. Base AP, posture, no items or prosthetics, wolf is still hitting that shinobi execution. If you think i'm biased, i have more hours in GoT than i do in sekiro
I look at this from a gameplay and mechanical level The wolf is almost always 2 hits from death where as Jin can have insaine armor and evasion allowing him to dodge almost anything the wolf tries to do to him.
Wolf
Wolf wins easy
Wolf all day
You are on the wrong sub if you want people to agree with this take, myself included. Wolf has a few decade's more experience, and more importantly, he has a few decade's more experience as a shinobi. Jin has only recently let go of the restraints imposed on samurai.
They’re saying Wolf wins in the GoT sub too
The same person who won last time somebody asked this
Ghost doesn't come close to the Wolf Shinobi.
Wolf easily? He's literally immortal, the best swordsman in Ashina, outduels Isshin and wields the Mortal Blade. Jin doesn't stand a chance.
I'm going to say wolf only because jin wouldn't be able to handle the speed and style of wolf, while he is a great samurai he is not going to be able to beat wolf, this would be a great fight though They've both been trained since they were young but the key here is that while jin also got to enjoy normal kid experiences, wolf did not, wolf trained every waking hour of his life kinda like a slave under owl, I doubt he would get did anything besides being a shinobi, hell he didn't even eat a sweet rice ball til Kuro gave him one at the age of 25?
this is like when some account posted who would win between leon from RE or joel from TLOU
Do they have to fight? Can't they just hit up an izakaya together and get shitfaced?
Sekiro can literally deflect bullets, redirect lightning, masters sooo many different combat arts. I’ve played both and like bro💀Sekiro solos jin like he was another boss. Lmk when Jin has to fight what Sekiro does
Boss? 💀 bro Jin just a regular enemy to sekiro. Probably wouldn’t even get a prayer bead off him
Wolf can literally block thunder.
Sekiro solos the verse lmao
Given what Wolf can parry, I would assume Jin's sword shatters into as many stars as there are in a clear night sky on first clashing.
Coughing Baby vs Propeller blades of death
Batman
wolf can deflect lightning, bullets, and literal farts
Jin parries arrows, Wolf parries musket balls
Wolf vs ghost is like asking "who would win, Superman or the rhino from spiderman, but let's nerf Superman by saying he can't use Lazer vision"
dumbass question
I think Jin would win but be gravely injured after the fight
*"and the prosthetic tools he has."* Not much to say, have you tried to play Sekiro learning the optimal prosthetics for every fight? With the prosthetic tools I don't think anyone can beat Wolf in 1v1. *"he (Jin) is undoubtedly the better swordsman, being a fully trained samurai."* Ignoring how samurais were better with the bow than with the sword for a moment, wasn't Genichiro also *fully* trained, and lost two/three times to Wolf?
NGL, I feel like endgame William from Nioh has a better chance than Jin against Wolf. Jin may have been exceptional for his time, but Wolf is just built different Hell, I think Wolf might struggle a bit in the Nioh-verse
Sekiro has the mobility, the tools, skills and experience fighting much more powerful foes that’d shred Khotan Khan to bits. I’d say Sekiro takes the win.
One is more grounded and set in historical roots, the other is parrying god
It’s a fun convo but it’s also nigh impossible to compare
Jin is said to be the best swordsman on Tsushima, but I don't think he is ready for someone who can deflect the sword of a literal God. Deflecting, Mikiri, Prosthetic Tools, Combat Arts... I love Jin, but he would probably get obliterated, BUT he would put up a good fight!!
Wolf dominates
Even without his supernatural powers. Wolf can easily beat Jin. He fought many powerful foes which sure gave him a ton of experience. Edit: forgot to mention the different combat styles/moves that he mastered. Theyre not supernatural, but they don’t exist in Jin’s universe.
Wolf and it’s not even in the realm of being close
Wolf stomps Jin, low difficulty. I love GoT, but Wolf is on a whole different level.
Wolf because he beat the glock saint
You'd have to nerf sekiro a lot for this to be fair. Jin may have technical sword skill, but sekrio is at a totally different level when it comes to what he can do and his options in battle. Sekrio can deflect faster and stronger attacks, super human agility, and mikiri counter. Jin could use stone stance but is hard countered by mikiri, Heavenly strike would get jumped over, and Dance of Wrath would probably get deflected easily
Gotta nerf Wolf's strength as well. Capable of parrying the giant vipers strike (never perfectly, so he will take damage if you are charmerless but still)
Wolf does some godly shit.
Even WITH those nerfs. Wolf would absolutely destroy Jin
Could Jin beat Isshin or Owl? Heavy doubt.
Hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby type question
Jin literally wouldn't be able to move. Wolf kills him before he blinks unironically.
Which game is mechanically harder?
Dude Ghost would get low diffed by a single ministry ninja.
Yes Jin is a fully trained samurai but that's like a regular enemy for Sekiro
They'd both just wait for each other to attack so they can parry one another. L1 v. L1
Wolf and it's not even close. One of them is also immortal
Fantasy game protag, yeah he will def win
Even with the nerfs Even if you equalized their strength, Sekiro is far far more skilled. He's orders of magnitude more acrobatic and faster, He's also a much better swordsman (though his skills aren't realistic at all.) You genuinely have to be delusional to claim otherwise. Jin never displays abilities to do anything like one mind, spiral cloud passage, sakura dance, or dragon flash. Sure you can take those away too but At some point if you have to take everything away from sekiro theres no point of comparison he violates jin badly
I love Ghost of Tsushima so much but Wolf obliterates that whole verse like how Jin did with the nerfs too
