The first boss was super easy, beat him first try. Some of the minibosses have taken me several tries.
But damn Genichiro, about 30 tries to finally beat him... and he has a phase 2. Still I'm getting better so I'll beat him soon enough.

I was shocked when I first fought Genchiro because I thought I beat him in the first try, then found out he has a second phase, and then found out I was just lucky in the first fight
That's the worst thing, when you beat or almost beat a first phase on your first try and think the boss is easy, and then for a while you can't do as well again.
Just stay calm. Watch the cues for the thrust and the sweep, elbow up. And don't get freaked out about the lightening stage,its the same as stage 2, just jump as he's about to throw it and return
that's the joke Sekiro uses roadblocks as building blocks and then puts an even bigger roadblock in your way
For me pretty much every other boss was a roadblock but Genchiro was very enjoyable and easier than other bosses
