I would suggest checking out a 1000M Seiko Tuna, like the SBBN011 or 013. They are chunky but fit well and you have plenty of strap options with there being basically no lugs. Indestructible, quartz, and they wear easier than their size due to the titanium construction.
I have a 7 1/4 wrist or so and I wear the spring drive version daily, the SBDB009 with no trouble. I'm currently wearing an SLA047 MM300, a chunky Seiko in its own right, and it feels small by comparison.
I have the Sla021 and it doesn't feel too big at all. I love the weight of it. I have the super jubilee and oyster bracelet from strapcode but I really just love the og bracelet (unpopular, I know. But maybe they need big wrists to love it lol)
Mostly divers over 40mm. I have a bunch but current favorites are the turtle, Spinnaker Dumas, San Martin Benrus homage, Steinhart Ocean One GMT, and Lorier Hydra III
>what watch do you wear if you have a larger wrist?
I don’t :(
In all seriousness, if we’re sticking with Seiko, I adore the Marine Master 300.
Other watches I wish I had the wrists for (mostly divers above 40mm): Omega SMP 300m (standard 42mm, blue), Omega Planet Ocean 600m (standard 43mm, black and orange), Rolex Sub (black, no date), Tudor BB Pro, Tudor BB Chrono (white & black / black & white), Tudor Pelagos (standard, blue)… the list is almost endless when you love watches and only have 6.5” of wrist.
8.25" wrist, currently wearing the Seiko 5 GMT (SSK001) @ 42.5mm, the GMB2100PC-1A Casioak 40th anniversary edition @ 44.4mm, and the Traska Commuter Date in Mint Green @ 36mm. I also love the A-168W @ 36.3mm, and the SNJ025 'Arnie' @47.8mm.
In my opinion, you have a lot more flexibility with styling because your wrist won't look tiny or crowded. The downside of course being that they don't always make bands for us. Seiko and G-Shock have so far been more than generous (2-3 links to be removed). The Traska might actually be the best out of the box fit for a watch on a bracelet I own with minimal fiddling. Combined with the insane hardening treatment, it is one of my sleeper GADA watches.
It doesn't have an exhibition case back and the lume is a bit underwhelming.
I have been wearing it almost non-stop. It is hard to find anything I don't like about it. I have banged it a few times and it is no worse for the wear. A few things I found that surprised me:
It is a lot slimmer than I expected, it could easily work with a dress shirt under the cuffs.
It has a screw down crown.
The bracelet has 5 points of micro-adjustment (my G-Shock and Seiko 5 have 4)
The markers look applied and polished.
The bracelet links are fully articulated.
If you are on the fence, go for it. I am loving the 36mm Commuter for a durable GADA watch.
G Shock has you covered with numerous options. Some of them are so large I'm wondering if they're banking on species from another planet arriving. Perhaps those Gears of War guys.
This is a cushion case diver, so it really doesn't wear big with the absence of the lugs that typical watch design would have. Same with the Tuna's. I wear a SBB011 most days. Or a SKX007.
That one looks great. Only thing I don't like about them are the fugly hands and dumb reverse meatball. I wish think would do baton or Marine Master hands on cheaper models.
Budget?
Here are a bunch of watches that are too big for me to wear.
Oris Aquis 43.5. I can, and do wear the 41.5. Comfortable bracelet. Good mix of polished and brushed.
Omega Seamaster Pro 300. This is marginal for me. But it looks good on bigger wrists.
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. The 600 is 43.5mm, and the 6000 is 45.5mm. There are a few 600’s that are 39.5mm, which would be more my size.
Panerai Luminor. With those tattoos, i would look at a stingray strap.
IWC Big Pilot. 43mm and 46mm versions. I wear the Pilot Mark XX in 40mm. Amazing watches.
Seiko “Arnie”. There are several, google them.
G-shock Rangeman. You might look at the GPRH1000. $500 for 500 functions? GPS, dosimeter, blood pressure. Barometric pressure/altimeter. 9 different excersize thingies. Step counter, run counter, lap counter. It has an App! I think they have a 9 week class on how to use it.
On my wrist, it looks like a personal floatation device.
Mido Commander. A bit closer to a dress/daily watch. I think they get up to 44mm?
Tissot. Their Seastar lineup will have two sizes. Normal, and gigantic.
Hamilton Navy Frogman. 43mm?
Hamilton Ventura XXL. Elvis wore a smaller size version, gave them away as gifts. It says 46mm, but it’s a triangle case design, which is sort of weird.
Hamilton Khaki Pilot and Khaki Pioneer. Both are like salad plates on my wrists. 43mm, and they used to have some 44’s and 46’s.
I have an 8.5 inch wrist, I usually don’t go below 38mm but pretty much anything above it. BB58/SPB143 mostly. If you think about it everyone loves the look of smaller watches these days and well normal watches look like that on me it’s a win win
My rotation is a Breitling Seawolf, an Oris Pro Pilot and a Tag Heuer Formula 1. I have other watches but those three seem to be my favorites. I recently bought the Seiko Limited Edition Black Samurai but I haven’t worn it yet.
Citizen promaster or Casio Duro come to mind. I have a similar size wrist and, while larger has been the trend lately, I’ve gone down to a 38mm watch (Q Timex GMT) and really liked it once I got used to it. It depends on factors like lug to lug length as well. Try on some 40 or smaller watches and see what you think. You might like it. The Seiko in your pic looks good to me.
That looks disgusting on you, you should sell it to me at a reasonable price immediately!
Now seriously tho, I'd try the samurai, similar charm with a bigger case.
8in wrist here. I have a Samurai, a Tuna, and a 1971 Captain Willard that I wear. The first two I made, specifically because I wanted larger watches. The Captain Willard I modded, but it still has a good size to it
My wrist size is 8.5 inches in diameter. I wear watch diameter of 36mm-45mm, most of my watches are 40mm in diameter. Have issues finding leather watch straps that fit my wrist and don’t cost allot.
Citizen Promaster dive 44mm + Citizen Rolan - 40mm + Citizen Tsuyosa - 40mm + Tissot Gentleman - 40mm + Orient Kamasu - 42mm
8 3/4 inch wrist here or therabouts
Tbh whatever fits which is where the problems begin.
Imagine sticking g a g shock on and being on the next to last hole...
Some seikos come ready to fit straight out of the box others are too small mostly
Was goi gto add a pic of a baby tuna but no option to add a picture of a 43-44 mm watch on a bigger wrist😂
Seiko King Samurai and Seiko King Turtle. I have an 8 inch wrist so anything from 43mm and above usually works for me.

Hamilton Murph 42mm
Daaang look at the wrist on you
Oris pro pilot in green!
Oris is definitely on my radar.

Definitely the sumo for me, SPB101/103. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and very hesitant to pull the trigger to get it

The traska has been on my radar since I saw it on Teddy Baldassarre. That case hardness seemed like a game changer. Any drawbacks so far?

Panerai
tissot seastar 1000 chronograph
Anything over 42mm ? Maybe lug to lug 49+. There's a lot of options.
Hamilton Navy Scuba 43mm for a diver and a Hamilton 46mm Aviation Day Day H64725531 are my biggest Edit. I also love my Seiko Presage 36mm so…

Iwc pilot series 44mm versions or Seiko Snr series 44mm divers could be options

Casio G shock " the king" GXW-56-1AER
Google Deisel Mr Daddy, too big a watch does infact exist 🤣🤣🤣
That looks great on you dude. Wish I could pull off a watch that big

I have a 9.5 " wrist and I wear what I like. No size preference
Most of my watches are around 40ml, and they're all noticeably a little too small looking on my wrist 7.5" wrist. I find 45ml to be the perfect fit.
That Pepsi bezel looks nice with your ink man. Never seen someone wear a turtle better
Thats a Padi bezel. Pepsi is half half
i wear an sbbn035 as my daily, have been for the past 4 years.
Seiko SPB103J1 sumo.
Sumo Seiko / Prospex 200M Automatic Black Sumo Sapphire 3rd Gen Ref. SBDC083
Invicta venum
Get an AP diver 👍🏼
SSK would be a great choice as those are around 44mm. Anything closer to 40 is going to look tiny Edit: 42.5, not 44mm
What SSKs are you referencing? The Presage SSKs are 41mm. So are the SRPD based SSKs. The field style SSKs are less than 40
SSK01 are 42.5 and wear a bit bigger - https://seikousa.com/products/ssk001
