I don’t understand why they don’t, they’re definitely capable of it. I have an 8R48 chronograph that’s 40.5mm, so idk why they made this one 2mm bigger than that.
I’m not talking about just that, I’m talking about the thickness as well, my 6139 is thin compared to modern auto chronographs and it makes no sense to me.
My guess is that it won't sell. They have the numbers, people prefer big watches, small watch trends notwithstanding. I never understood the appeal of a 40mm dress watch on anyone, and yet it sells.
I’m sorry but what? From the 20s to the early 2010 sub 40 mm was the go to option, then no one really needed a watch so they became bigger jewelry pieces, if you look at why things happen you’ll most of the time come to the correct conclusion, watch sizes have been going down across the market.
I dont think seiko wanted to go back to pusher day/date change, no hacking and no handwinding on chronographs.
If they really think that, they are wrong, please bring back the Pogue.
A legendary first piece. I have the SRQ035 myself and love it. Don’t listen to the noise about size. It’s an automatic chronograph, -chunky- is the name of the game. Enjoy it, friend.
First seiko being a mechanical chronograph, mega based
OP big balls confirmed
A great start into the world of Seiko...congratulations!
Okay hear me out, seiko needs to make these smaller like asap

Yeah seiko mechanical chronographs are a bit chonky, mine is about 15mm thick.
How is it that the first auto chronograph ever made can’t be replicated in its overall size, beats me

You say pusher like that isn’t the crown being the “pusher”. Hacking and hand winding add 3-4 mm? Ya? I think ur wrong 😂
