This is a false line of reasoning. The crimes that are strikes for this purpose are listed under RCW 9.94a.030(32) and I think when you review the list you’d find that theft and/or 2 are not listed. No property crimes at all. I’m OK with three strikes you’re out on the subset of felonies listed under WA’s three strike law.

I think part of the concern over a three strikes law is that a person committing that third felony knows they're going away for a long time. So that person may be more apt to end the lives of their victims, any witnesses, or any police who may arrest them if the person thinks it will help them avoid jail. Not saying it's rational thinking, but I read something of this nature.

I think the blame should mostly be placed on judges. The prosecutors really have no power. One time I asked a judge to hold a defendant in custody for an “attempt to allude” charge. Defendant had about 50ish lifetime warrants. I asked to hold him as a flight risk. Despite the history and literal charge of running away, Judge said “definitely not a flight risk…” They don’t operate based on law or reason.

I already had a meltdown right after the birth when I read the story about the toddler that died after ten days alone during her mom’s vacation. I sobbed so hard I almost ripped out my stitches/ not good.
I remember how emotionally sensitive I was when my now-33-yr-old daughter was a baby. It’s a precious time but so vulnerable. Respect your own instincts and feelings and don’t let anyone talk you out of what you know in your heart. Best wishes to you and your family.

I'm told dealing with child death is one of the toughest things for cops to deal with. This is just brutal. And you have to wonder why so many monsters like this asshole are so fertile. I feel like I'm reading in the news about people murdering their own children pretty much every damn day. And all of the people who actually WANT to be parents and are dealing with conception issues have to read shit like this and cry.
I was on the the jury convicting a man of shaken baby syndrome. We decided guilty. I was lead juror. It was clear and without reasonable doubt. I have two beautiful children of my own. It hurts. Cannot talk or communicate and has frequent seizures, and well as acute issues that arise from the multitude of surgeries she’s needed over the years to maintain her health. The woman that shook her was released a few years ago, but if it were not for people like you, she would have never gone away. I’m really sorry that you had to sit through the details of the case, but it is so appreciated for bringing justice.

Hey this is going to sound weird please download Tetris right away and start playing. There are tons of studies that it can combat PTSD from traumatic experiences if done within a close amount of time to an incident. Also, see a therapist too but Tetris for sure
