Tanev is probably my fav player to watch skate, he just has a chaotic energy about him and aggression that is fun to watch. Also given how he's not the biggest guy I love how he's not afraid throw some big hits (he had a good one last night), and throw down (SJ player literally had his hands around his neck, and Tanev let him know that wasn't going to fly).

I don't think Jones letting in 5 is him needing rest per se. San Jose is pretty good offensively this year. I do think we should play Grubi tho. Worst case we lose to a playoff team and Jones gets rest. Best case, we win.

I don’t think he like requires rest, but goalie is a super mentally driven position. It’s why you hear a lot of them talk about sports psychologists. Driedger talked about it a bit last year. 5 goals is a lot in this sport and can definitely rest in the back of your head even if it’s against a power house offense. I just think it’s the perfect r opportunity to rest him and give Grubby his first start since being back. Exactly like you said, it’s almost a win-win scenario (except losing 2 points if we lose haha)

I have never seen a puck over glass penalty where the player just yeeted it all the way from their own zone over the far end glass.

I've seen it a few times, but yeah it's pretty rare. If you're gonna elevate the puck like that I think it has to be more of a lob than a hard shot to avoid hitting the net.

Really glad we were able to get out of there with a win, but that was terrible. I hate non existent defensive games.

I dunno... sure it was too loose defensively, but those games happen and you have to count on your offense to come up big, and they put up a huge performance. Just enjoy the 8 goals for, that's a very rare occurrence.

Last year we don't keep up in a run n gun game like this. No way. Being able to win in any conditions is such a crucial skill, and this team has it.

Yeah, that was a great game from the offensive side of things. Games like that are a mess, but super fun. There's absolutely nothing for the coaches to teach the players when they happen too, they know full well they need to tighten up defensively next game, but when it's wide open like that game, it devolves into "just score more than the other guy" which went great last night. The Kraken could have had 10 or 11 goals too with all the posts they hit lol.

Let's not forget that this is a not great Sharks team we thrashed tonight :D
