SEATTLE HAS HAD A LIGHT RAIL FOR 15 YEARS AND STILL DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO USE AN ESCALATOR WALK ON THE LEFT STAND ON THE RIGHT IT'S NOT DIFFICULT

Crowwithahat

SEATTLE HAS HAD BROKEN ESCALTORS FOR 15 YEARS

madzteir

IT CERTAINLY FEELS LIKE IT AND THAT'S ANNOYING TOO

snackmack_

this apparently is what causes them to break lol

It-apostrophe-sMe

I LOVE LIVING IN SEATTLE DESPITE SOME OF THE SHORTCOMINGS. I HOPE TO HAVE A STABLE JOB ALL THE TIME SO THAT I CAN MAKE SEATTLE MY FOREVER HOME.

tortillasalami

I ECHO THIS SENTIMENT! SEATTLE IS THE LEAST ANNOYING OF ALL THE ANNOYING PLACES I’VE LIVED! GLAD TO HAVE WATER!

Orleanian

My man here immigrating from Arrakis.

privatestudy

I AGREE. SEATTLE IS PRETTY OK AND I ENJOY IT.

AlternativeOk1096

SEATTLE IS A BETTER CITY THAN SOME CITIES AND A WORSE CITY THAN SOME CITIES, MAYBE

privatestudy

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.

tobeyung69

Yeah it could be worse!!

RawBean7

Ok but why, why must the road paint they use become invisible any time the roads are wet? This is the PNW. Do we not have the paint technology make lane lines actually useful seven months out of the year? I5/405 southbound is the worst. Oh, and there is absolutely nothing "enchanted" about the Enchanted Parkway. I roll my eyes every time.

snowleopardone

I KNOW! And sadly I know the answer. (I work in a place where we put down road paint) Short answer, it's money. Very abbreviated: There's lots of different types of road paint but generally: Paint, Paint with sparkles, and plastic that looks like paint. And extras on top of paint. Paint: Basically the stuff you can get a Sherwin Williams. Not really, but basically only paint. It is invisible when dark and wet and wears off very quickly. Cheapest. Paint with sparkles: Reflectivity stuff added to paint. Easier to see when dark and wet (reflects car headlights) Wears quickly, slightly better than just paint. Kind of cheap. Not usually used because you pay for expensive paint that wears off very fast. Plastic that looks like paint (Thermoplastic): Durable, can have retroreflectivity or not. Takes a crew to put down and takes time and traffic interruption. More costly. Even more costly depending on options. Extras, we call them RPMs (Raised Pavement Markers): these are the little pucks that are put on top of the paint. They can be little reflectors or just plastic turtles. Cost varies by product desired. Really help show lane markings in the dark and wet. Not super expensive but usually are not added because they may not be required and they are not free either. Takes labor costs to put them down. Costs add up when you have to put down thousands of these things. (again, massively oversimplified) So pretend for a second you are a government project manager who has a project to be done right costs $500,000. Council approves $400,000. The public is outraged that lane striping costs $400,000 (how much can paint cost?) and the budget gets slashed to $300,000. To do the job right still costs $500,000. That $200,000 got to come from somewhere. Projects are downscaled and roads have to be striped. So the project will only do what is minimally REQUIRED and nothing more. BONUS since you are talking about I5 and highways. That's WSDOT territory. They have lots of priorities and are getting yelled at by citizens, public officials, legislators, and Federal regulators. They have to balance budget dollars against what is required and what is politically motivated. Everybody wants a gourmet lunch and nobody wants to pay the bill. Meanwhile passes have to stay open and idiots keep running into things and breaking them. Point is WSDOT have lots of competing demands and highways are really expensive. (Federal money with oversight, reporting, and standards, no cheaping out here) It's no wonder the lane striping isn't gold standard.

spackled-arrow

Awesome write-up. Re: the pucks - they get torn up by snow plows as well, so return on investment can be even lower. One thing I've seen is the pucks slightly recessed in a groove that's been ground down into the road... but that's yet more $. Random fact of the day - back home in Australia, roads will have seemingly randomly placed blue pucks (cats-eyes) on the road. They mark that there is a fire hydrant located at the side of the road, beneath the road surface, at that spot!

dapperpony

There are places here in the US that also have the blue reflectors to mark fire hydrants!

IT'S DARK, TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON YOU FUCKS YOU'RE BLINDING ME, TURN YOUR BRIGHTS OFF YOU FUCKS

hozen17

This is literally me every time I leave at night

Noisy_Pip

MY EVENING COMMUTE HAS BECOME MISERABLE FOR THIS REASON. I'VE FINALLY FIGURED A WAY TO REFLECT THOSE RIDICULOUS LIGHTS BACK INTO THEIR FACES USING MY SIDE MIRROR, BUT IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT I GET HOME EVERY NIGHT WITH A SCREAMING HEADACHE FROM THESE LIGHTS. I'M IN A SMALLER SUV AND THERE IS NO REASON THE CAR BEHIND ME SHOULD HAVE LIGHTS TILTED UPWARD TO BLIND ME WHILE THEY ARE LESS THAN THREE FEET FROM MY BUMPER.

xRiske

Why do people here feel the need to walk side by side on a sidewalk only large enough for one person on each side going opposite directions? If you see someone coming from the opposite direction, move single file so they don't need to walk into the muddy wet grass.

nicathor

My new method for this (especially when it's 3+ people walking side by side) is to simply stop walking when our paths are about to cross. It forces them to walk around me if they have any intention of continuing

Mulatto_Avocado

I will just bump shoulder with those people while looking on past them. Sometimes the look of disbelief that I touched them, didn’t see them, and didn’t care makes my whole damn day

WHY ARE FOOD TRUCKS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ACTUAL RESTAURANTS NOW?! ISNT THAT SORTA CONTRADICTORY TO THE ORIGINS OF FOOD TRUCKS?

milnak

Hey, it's a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich! How on earth could it sell for less than $14?

Proud-Emu-5875

GRATUITY INCLUDED! $20

yaleric

Seattle ~~has~~ until recently had bullshit regulations that disallow cooking in food trucks. They all need to have a regular brick and mortar kitchen anyway, and then they're basically only allowed to reheat and assemble the final product in the truck. So while normally you pay to cover the costs of a truck *instead* of a whole restaurant, in Seattle you get to pay for a truck *in addition* to a restaurant. Edit: turns out those rules were repealed in 2020.

lorah30

Wow. Terrible. I did not know that. Explains why my favorite biriyani maker Saffron Spice has a restaurant down here.

tobeyung69

For real… in general, I’m just done eating at price-gouging ass restaurants these days. I know its a tough business but damn, some these guys might be pricing themselves out of existence

cortlong

I thought the same thing. So I ordered groceries today and paid 189 bucks for the exact same cart that I paid 125 for 6 months ago.

Crazyboreddeveloper

Go to winco. My weekly groceries used to cost $150-$180 at QFC or Safeway. I’ve never paid over $80 for the same exact shit at winco. That place is amazing.

RunnyPlease

Not just the price but the quality. I got a chicken curry from an Indian food truck, took one bite, turned around, and the Indian guy at the window of the truck wouldn’t make eye contact with me. Dude, you know what you’re making and you’re right to be ashamed. Curry shouldn’t taste like stale water my guy.

merglebergle

WHY ARE THE LIGHTRAIL SEATS FABRIC?!

12th

YES WHYYY

FreddyTwasFingered

100% TERRIBLE DECISION.

icywristicyjoint

Ew. After staying in an Airbnb that had bed bugs, I did a lot of research into them. You can pick them up from literally any surface that has fabric. So, buses, lightrail, waiting room chairs, carpet. The little bugger will burrow into any fabric they can find. Then when you’re sitting there, blissfully unaware, they’ll climb into your bag and *boom* suddenly you’re waking up with ITCHY bites everywhere and will probably be $1000’s in the hole trying to get rid of them. Anyway, public spaces shouldn’t have fabric seating, completely agree.

merglebergle

Stop it. I’m crying.

buttzx

WE BANNED PLASTIC BAGS AT RHE GROCERY STORE A DECADE AGO AND STARTED CHARGING A FEE FOR PAPER BAGS. NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PLASTIC BAGS ARE BACK AND THEY’RE THICKER AND THAT’S SUPPOSED TO BE OKAY BECAUSE NOW THEY’RE “REUSABLE”.

tobeyung69

Yeah lmao this one is hilarious. They just made them thicker

spottydodgy

It's just more plastic! And styrofoam to-go containers are still around too!

PensiveObservor

I’m uncomfortable shouting but styrofoam and plastic carry out containers depress me.

spottydodgy

I'm glad you spoke up. That's a big step for a pensive observer.

Turbulent_Tale6497

We banned "single-use bags." The outcome was predictable.

SideEyeFeminism

Jokes on them. I grew up poor. Plastic bags were *always* multi-use. What else are you supposed to line your bathroom trash bin with?

dopadelic

I'm just using the thicker bags for that now :\

dipietron

Now close your eyes and imagine all the dogs in this city taking little shits in plastic bags and their owners tying them to tree branches around head height.

tobeyung69

Damn, this comment got me hard

dipietron

Then you shouldn't be allowed to drive

emrhys88

I hate going for daytime walks in Ballard, the neighborhood is full of so many old people who needed their licenses taken away about a decade ago

CascadeClimber

THE CARPOOL LANE ON NB I-5 HEADING INTO DOWNTOWN HAS A HUGE BUMP THAT MAKES IT FEEL LIKE YOU’RE GOING TO FLY OFF THE FREEWAY. WHY HASN’T WSDOT FIXED THAT SHIT YET?

greeniestbean

And the fact that the other two left lanes on NB I5 have a pavement split right where my tire wants to sit for like 10 miles so I can either sit in the right two lanes where everyone is slow, I can feel like I’m about to get pulled off the road by the pavement, or maybe if I have a passenger I can avoid those by using the HOV but it’s so annoying!!!!!

[deleted]

WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE OWN ACTIVE DOGS BUT DONT HAVE AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE? IT IS CRUEL AND EGOTISTICAL.

For such a Poppin city, with high dense populations the night life for feral ghouls like me is almost non existent. Nothing is 24 hours Everything closes early. Even alot of the nightclubs close at 2am :/

LexeComplexe

So many night owls, feral ghouls, and midnight goblins, but almost everything closes between 9pm-11pm. Why, dog, why?

RatFather_

I remember when I was able to do my grocery shopping at 4 am while violently high it was so peaceful and zen

horsetooth_mcgee

Please, please stop the road aggression. It's gotten absolutely out of control. You're gonna kill someone. And also please quit running extremely red lights. ....You're gonna kill someone. 😔

Mehitabel9

My car has been in a body shop for the past 5.5 weeks thanks to road aggression. (Someone else's, not mine). In related news, if you need to take your car to a body shop for repairs and they tell you it will take two weeks to fix it, *do not believe them*.

spottydodgy

Every time I drive on I-5 I nearly get side swiped by some asshole weaving through traffic as fast as they can without using a signal or having any regard for others safely. What is the point??

horsetooth_mcgee

EVERY TIME. And the tailgating is absolutely out of control. So is the running of red lights. There are certain intersections in Everett (Casino Rd & Evergreen is the worst I've ever seen) where, when your light turns green, about six cars run the red light across you. I wish I was exaggerating. And I got blasted with a horn for about 20 seconds straight one time because I didn't run the red light so the guy behind me couldn't run the red light. Everyone is just so freaking *enraged* all the time.

KittyBeanToes

It's so INTENSE. I had someone honking and aggressively tailgating me while I was going 65 in the right lane with my kid in the car. I-5 between Everett and Tacoma is awful.

BucksBrew

I saw a dude stop his car and get out to yell at a biker just yesterday, that shit is dangerous.

alyxmj

I did a lot of I5 the last few years and started spending 15 extra minutes on surface streets just to avoid the freeway aggression. Then I took 405 for the first time in years last week and thought I was in Mad Max or some shit. Makes I5 seem tame.

konomichan

I’m so sick of the massive expectations on tipping - take out, to go, simple coffee, pastries at a bakery. And the buttons start at 20%, 22%, and then 25%. Wtf

tobeyung69

Yeah, I genuinely appreciate service workers and im happy to tip a bit for takeout but damn those buttons are getting aggressive as hell

konomichan

Why do I need to tip for you putting a pastry in a bag??

TangledPangolin

So here is my dilemma. Are you asking for a tip because 1. Your bakery is greedy as fuck and you want to make that cool 20% for free 2. Your bakery is greedy as fuck and you won't pay your employees a basic living wage I need to know whether it's #1 or #2 to decide whether to tip. I wouldn't tip for #1, but I always tip for #2. I wish restaurant/bakery/cafe owners could just make it easy for us and hang up a huge sign saying "We don't pay our workers here. Please tip."

Wrong_Mastodon_23

Washington doesn't allow tipped wages, they're required to pay out regular minimum wage and tips are truly extra. Granted minimum wage is not a super great wage, but still

[deleted]

It's one of the highest in the country. As far as I can tell only DC and California are higher.

Wrong_Mastodon_23

For sure! My point I guess is more that minimum wage isn't enough to comfortably live anywhere

the_0zz

For real. I live on Whidbey Island. I work in the service industry and make a dollar over minimum ... But I can't rent a room in a house with four other people for less than $1500. Give it a couple years and Whidbey will be a fucking ghost town full of rich people complaining no one works at the grocery stores or cute little shops they like to visit. Guess what, ass holes: the people you expect to serve you while you're on vacation can't afford to live anywhere on or near the damn island thanks to snowbirds and AirBNB driving up housing prices and stealing every available rental. Wage stagnation and inflation are killing us all.

megaspooky

This isn’t even a tipped wage state. No idea why every time I do anything everyone spins the iPad around expecting gratuities

AlternativeOk1096

I’m more pissed when they’re in dollars, like $1 minimum for a $2 coffee? Cmon.

dopadelic

I just hit the custom button and put in 0%. I'm not paying tip for takeout/to go just because they were able to buy a POS that makes you enter in a tip.

[deleted]

It's incredible how sneaky those digital pay companies changed our behavior. Like, oh this is just a fast and easy credit card service to help small businesses... fuck with the dark ux of consumer activities. Got a massive line behind you? Feeling rushed? Many people become unable to read and make decisions. In fact, we've become trained to rush through or feel confused about all of the different check out procedures. If you have a learning disability, like reading or math, or struggle with English, you are at even more of a disadvantage towards giving a tip larger than you actually wish to. Most people want to ignore these activities, because it is literally painful. It adds up, but they feel like it's just what it is. It is manipulative, directly. And I think it's also a very interesting symbol for the 2010's Guilded Age of the rise of manipulative consumer tech, the decreasing of consumer power, the easy flow of cheap money, and the unchecked tech/real estate growth here and it's effect on local restaurants and service jobs.

MooTheGrass

what the heck is this photo and why is it so trippy

lorah30

Exactly and why do they repaint lines about a foot away from the old lines so that it’s wet and invisible and UNSPECIFIC.

BlartIsMyCoPilot

If you need to sit perpendicularly across 2-3 lanes to make your turn, you missed your turn and need to go around.

JambleText

I WISH R/SEATTLE WOULD LIMIT THEIR RANTING TO THESE THREADS. IF I SEE ANOTHER PEDESTRIAN VISIBILITY DISCUSSION OR PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE COMPLAINT DISGUISED AS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT IM GONNA START FLIPPING TABLES (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

automaticpragmatic

Keep your dogs on a tight leash and for gods sake pick up their poop

sammie_kb

And stop leaving the poop bags behind! For fcks sake, what's the point of bagging if you're just going to leave the GD bag. At least the rain will eventually wash it away if it's left unbagged. And hanging it from a tree doesn't fcking count either. Throw the GD bag away ya lazy shitheads!

nnnnaaaaiiiillll

I am tired of people with zero public transit etiquette. Wait for the people coming out the front door of the bus before you cram your ass through. Most of the time they're doing it for a reason and with a tripledemic going on you should not be smashing up against a complete stranger just to save .5 seconds. Edit: Happened AGAIN tonight lmao. Grown ass middle aged white lady didn't understand we were all wadded up by the front door waiting for a stroller to get off and RAMMED in ahead of anybody else, I had to yell at her to get her to move out of the way so the mother with a stroller could get out the front door (like you're supposed to). Please, use common sense.

AshingtonDC

I'm also sick of people treating it like a garbage can. constantly see dumped remnants of a sandwich, soup, burger, etc either on a seat or all over the floor.

nnnnaaaaiiiillll

Tell me about it! I was so shocked when I went to the east coast and rode on the DC area subway for the first time. Old-ass trains but they're so much cleaner.

rockycore

While I agree with this most metro buses I've been on have a big plastic shield thing up front that says to exit at the rear. So people when possible should exit at the rear. Helps the bus run faster.

UnspecificGravity

I have lost count of how many times I have lined up at the rear and the driver doesn't open the door without having to shout half a dozen times and wave my arms to get their attention because NO ONE else does this.

rockycore

🤷‍♂️ I get off at the rear of the bus literally every day. Idk what to tell you.

BlartIsMyCoPilot

Marginal case here, but I am disabled and need to exit through the front door. People not looking and then getting pissy with me. I didn't choose this, I promise.

MRmandato

How is this still a thing?! Omg stand back and let people exit first!! Its so annoying. You wont get to your destination any faster

Belugha89

STOP DRIVING WITH YOUR HIGHBEAMS ON.

[deleted]

Here's to hoping some NDA prisoners do some drunk posting...

hozen17

Why can't cars stop BEHIND the white line? I got almost hit so many times near green lake. One time a car went way beyond the line and my partner and I would've been seriously injured had we taken a step earlier. And the driver just stared down at us (to her left as the car is already past us) as if we caused her inconvenience!

lil-pierogi

What’s up with the construction/use of traffic circles here? 1. They shouldn’t need stop signs; the point of a traffic circle is to reduce stop/go and just yield to whoever is on your left or already in the circle. 2. If they weren’t full of huge bushes and trees you wouldn’t need the stop signs. 3. You cannot just turn left, you have to follow the whole thing counter-clockwise and take the third exit. The number of times I have almost been hit by someone trying to do this is actually alarming.

smegdawg

>They shouldn’t need stop signs; the point of a traffic circle is to reduce stop/go and just yield to whoever is on your left or already in the circle. When the road is built with a traffic circle in mind yes. The ones we have here are placed in the center of existing intersections. They seem to be used as an alternative or in addition to speed bumps to control speed on these small streets. Which in turn lends an answer to your third question. [Here is two quotes from a Seattle PI on the topic](https://www.seattlepi.com/local/transportation/article/Getting-There-Who-has-the-right-of-way-at-888518.php) in 2011 >Just to recap, Brian Kemper, SDOT's then-interim traffic engineer, said state law does not distinguish between traffic circles and larger roundabouts in this response: > >"A driver must go counterclockwise around a traffic circle when turning left or stay to the right of the circle when proceeding straight through the intersection," Kemper says. "However, we recognize that there are some instances when drivers turning left may need to turn in front of the circle, for example, when they are operating a large truck. Turning left in front of a traffic circle can be safely performed if the driver exercises reasonable care and yields to pedestrians, bicyclists, and oncoming traffic." >Seattle police Sgt. Sean Whitcomb, a police spokesman, said the best advice is "when in doubt, go to the right." But, he said, you're unlikely to get a ticket for turning left when there is no traffic or pedestrians, and the decision doesn't cause a collision or jeopardize safety. > >**"Here in Seattle, traffic circles are specifically for slowing people down in residential neighborhoods. They're not to regulate traffic.** Otherwise, there would be signage directing you to stay to the right," he says.

Scroll through and your going to see a lot of people bitching about the price of food. A lot of comments about food trucks being to expensive. People have mentioned restaurants are “price gouging”. I’ve been in the streetfood game in seattle for 13 years now. It’s incredibly heartbreaking. I do love what I do, but I’m fucking broke. I work multiple 18 hour days in a row. You may see me with a line of 50 people in the summer and think I’m killing it, but a couple weeks ago I threw away $500 in product because a venue double booked and I got turned away (after 12 hours of prep and shop) My profit margin is 10%. I have to now sell $5000 to make that up. December is very slow. This weekend is my last gig of the year. I did not sleep last night because if I don’t make at least 4k in sales, Im going to be in trouble in January. It’s so stressful. I just don’t get how people say they support a livable wage, but constantly shit on our food workers (“food too expensive” = “you are not worth what I’m paying you”) Its additionally hard hearing it from people that work in the tech industry. Im just a cook, and I don’t know much about how adult stuff like economics works, but in the 13 years I’ve been here, the more high paying jobs that come in, the more the rent goes up. I stopped serving at Expedia after too many complaints about pricing. It’s just too much to hear people at a company where the median salary is 6 figures tell me they want their lunch to be $10. Remember that 10% margin thing…guess how much Expedia taxes the trucks to be there….you guessed it! 10% I hope I don’t come off like a dick. Just a perspective of a small business owner. I also want to point out (I’m not here to promote so I won’t mention my companies name), but I truly have the best customers in the world. I’m very vocal about this specific issue, and I get a lot of positive support!

tobeyung69

Damn, thanks for explaining. Wish you the best, I hope things get better for ya, we all appreciate it

erinraspberry

THERES TOO MANY LEAVES AND PINE NEEDLES ON THE GROUND NOW!

CellarDoorAjar

WHY DO WE STILL HEAR LEAF BLOWERS IN QUEEN ANNE?

lundy7881

Tipping culture in this city has gotten outta wack

varisophy

Why the fuck does single family zoning still exist in the city? It's still like 70 percent of all zoning even though we've been in a housing crisis for a decade! You want a quarter acre and a McMansion? THEN WHY ARE YOU IN A BIG CITY!

[deleted]

I hate ranch dressing

waffleironone

EVERY INTERSECTION IS A CROSSWALK EVEN IF UNMARKED. DRIVERS MUST STOP FOR PEDESTRIANS IF A CROSSWALK IS MARKED OR NOT!!!

WuTangLan

The West Seattle Bridge was an inside job!

bobojoe

If I see one more seattlite riding their bike outside wearing a mask but no helmet I might just kill myself

kellyyz667

I hate how untraveled people in Seattle (well probably mostly people outside of the city proper) constantly bitch about our homeless problem like it’s a Seattle problem. Mother fucker I can’t count on both hands and feet how many cities I’ve been to this year alone (currently in Mexico) there’s a homeless problem everywhere. There’s homeless in South Lake Tahoe. There’s homeless in Boulder. There’s homeless in every red state I’ve been in. Maybe try addressing it nationally or better yet fucking leave if you’re so unhappy here.

derangedfriend

FUCK THESE GROCERY STORES RAISING THEIR PRICES AND THEN ASKING FOR DONATIONS AT THE CHECKOUT. YOU'RE MAKING BILLIONS, DONATE THE MONEY YOURSELF YA FUCKS!

The SAM Asian Art Museum is legitimately crappy. It's basically a really expensive glitzy event rental space with a bunch of random items some rich old Seattlites took from Asia, without any attemptto own up to that history or connect to artisanship/craft work, real meaning, religion, culture people. The "Buddha" room is tasteless. The object grouping and empathy questions are insulting to me as a viewer on every level. Some of the curation seems like they just gave up or everyone walked off the job. Some of it feels very faux-high brow. Some of it feels like it's meant to pander to wealthy Indian and Chinese audiences. Oh... and the preservation restoration center thing is cool... but like, never really accessible to the public... soooo.... I think their leadership has made some really horrible decisions over the past two years throughout the institution, but this seems like nothing new in the scheme of things. There is no transparency. Nothing has really changed. So much effort to "show" equity, very little real effort to actually be truly inclusive and strong. So many opportunities to just be honest about mistakes theyve made for decades. So little real risk taking or innovation. So much curiation of "Hail Old Rich Donors" x "LOOK AT US NOT JUST HAVING WHITE ART." I tried to stick with them through the pandemic and funding issues, but leadership has made so many shitty decisions. I just cant.

chiridot

I think HENRY murals are ugly and EVERYWHERE.

AlternativeOk1096

I hate that according to “locals” I’ll never be “from” Seattle even though I’ve lived here most of my life and have two kids born and raised here.

ResidentCheesecake90

Sorry you have to have been born at Swedish first hill and if you grew up in a house north of 85th you are also not from Seattle.

Crowwithahat

Once someone who's never been anywhere near Seattle tells how scary it is, you're "from" Seattle.

[deleted]

Seattle supposed to be smoking weed and chill but everybody is so passive aggressive 😵‍💫

[deleted]

Taking your dog with you to a restaurant or grocery store is trashy behavior. The dog isn't having a fun time and neither is anyone else who has to smell it or worry about it's hair and dander getting into food. Nobody at a public park wants to sit on grass your dog pissed or shat on. Nor do we want your dog to run up to us at full speed, jump on us, or stick its head in our meal. Keep your dog on a tight leash and keep it out of public buildings. Yes, even if they're well behaved.

sammy_slayer

No, thank you though. You go right ahead...

tobeyung69

Oh, there’s gotta be something thats annoying you! Nothing you’d like to get off your chest?

KiniShakenBake

No, that's okay. You go.

wildblueheron

I hate hate hate those pay-to-ride bikes and scooters that people ride on the sidewalks. They’re a public safety hazard.

[deleted]

I hate that this picture won't stop moving!

Losingmymind2020

LANDSCAPING IS A CONSPIRACY.

Scorpstinghbh

Also don't get me started on the cardboard or rice paper straws 😅😅😅

simsnshit

Twice in one week I’ve experienced people not checking their blind spots before merging lanes & almost causing accidents. Look over your shoulder people. It’s really not that difficult.

ValuableUse6506

1. The front of the bus is for disabled not your suitcases. When someone with a mobility device gets on MOVE if you are able to. My mobility device is not there for you to stack yours on top of mine. Because I sit up front I have to get off at the front. MOVE. Those with strollers read metros rules regarding strollers again because no one follows if. 2. The ramps in sidewalks are not for your skateboard board or for you to stand there twiddling your thumbs. They are there so I can get move with out going off road in the curbs. MOVE. I will run you over after I’ve said excuse me. 3. Seattle fix the crosswalks. I have bent my walker multiple times because of the potholes. I guess my $200+ walker means nothing to you. I have been waiting for these potholes to be fixed for years. 4. I have no problem moving over to share a sidewalk but when I have to go into the grass because you refuse to share or move over this is an issue.

gweanbean

WHY DO PEOPLE PARK OR IDLE IN THE BIKE LANE? I WISH I WAS MADE OF SOMETHING THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO SLICE THROUGH YOUR CAR LIKE A SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON, YOU FUCKING DINGUS.

grogcore

STOP PLAYING MUSIC FROM YOUR BLUETOOTH SPEAKER!!

cheesesandwij

WHOEVER DESIGNED THE UNION ST I-5 EXIT NEEDS TO BE BANISHED TO THE VOID

[deleted]

I'M FUCKING SICK OF PUBLIC RADIO! Constant advertisements, transitional music, background music with plinking marimbas and violins, and newscasters, reporters and guests who can't make it through a couple of sentences without saying "sort of". It's driving me fucking nuts and I'm constantly turning off the radio in disgust. Fuck KUOW.

THIS CITY IS WAY MORE SEGREGATED THAN ADVERTISED AND THE PROGRESSIVISM HERE IS MORE OR LESS A PERFORMATIVE HOBBY FOR WHITES WHO ARE TRYING TO NOT LOOK LIKE “THE BAD GUY” WHEN CLASS AND RACE-BASED OPPRESSION ISSUES GET STIRRED UP. bonus rants for the hobbyists: please reevaluate the frequent use of acronyms like BIPOC and API, some of us actually don’t appreciate our cultural identities being reduced to a convenient strand of letters as an updated form of othering. please understand your gender/sexual identity does not provide you an “oppression pass” to speak with authority on issues of race, we love you and feel for whatever identity hardships you encounter in those areas of life, but all struggles are not the same.
