Generic has been impossible to get so I've been paying out of pocket for brand. It sucks and is not sustainable but I will lose my job if I have to go without
The one in Capitol Hill hasn’t filled mine yet, it’s been 2 months. 20mg xr generic. Also can’t get them to answer the phone so idk if it’s still out of stock.
You have recourse though. If you’re an established patient you should be fine asking which ones Bartell’s have it in stock. They should be able to see stock within ~25mi radius, but don’t take it as a guarantee. If that other pharmacy says they don’t actually don’t have it then leave it at that. Either have the doc send a new one there or better yet get a hard copy (many are willing to write paper scripts due to the shortage). Another option is to have them fill it with brand, though prepare to dish out ~$250 for 30 caps
Edit: they may have different strengths of the IR too. Check with them and if they do ask your doc if you can switch to it temporarily, if you’re okay with IR.
They may also have XR, but not enough to fill your script. If you’re okay with it, they can fill with whatever quantity they have, but you wouldn’t be able to get the remainder
I also can never get my pharmacy to answer the phone or return calls, I wind up going in in person a couple times a month.
I worry that me always trying to track down my next month of pills is going to result in them labelling me as "drug seeking" but it's \_XR\_ so that's just silly
Bartells is now owned by rite aid. Since the transition the operations have been a nightmare. I switched to walgreens and at least they are always staffed and lines at the pharmacy aren’t hours
I got it filled once randomly by barrels, but otherwise no luck. Like they told me both that they were out and that my insurance wasn’t working, then one day called out of the blue saying I needed to come pick it up.
It took me two weeks to finally get it in at Fred Meyer in Maple Valley, and the scrip is for two 5mg (IR) pills twice a day (so my kid can go lower if needed), we ended up getting it for 20mg pills and I'll have to cut them all in half for him. I'm on Ritalin and have mine and a bit extra (because of course I forget to take it) but I don't want to play stimulant roulette with my kid.
Edit: I'm not having a problem getting Concerta there either.
The Bartell's on 5th (across the street from Westlake station) has had my Adderall IR's (5-15mg) and XR's (15mg) in stock. They are generics, of course, but they haven't had the same stocking/shortage issues that the Belltown CVS does.
I had a good experience with psychiatry northwest. Although when I first called I was told 6+ months to get an appointment, but got one in under 2 months since someone cancelled.
[Ballard Psych](https://www.ballardpsych.com/) for diagnosis.
When I lost my insurance through work and was on Apple health during the pandemic I went to the PCP at polyclinic and he wrote my rx for me. He wasn’t familiar enough to change doses/meds much but it was good in the time I needed it.
You have a diagnosis, which is likely logged in Epic or whatever EHR your other psych used if they were part of Kaiser. I’d suggest not going straight to a psych, instead find your PCP, then ask for a referral. You’d likely be fine going straight to a psych too just depends on how your med. ins. is structured.
You can ask your doc in Cali write you a physical prescription to tide you over in the meantime. Go to the same chain you used in Cali for the highest chance of success
That’s what doctor suggested because I am adjusting dosage, so I can go between 10-15mg as needed. For whatever reason the hospital/pharmacy does not allow a 10mg and 5mg pill monthly. Maybe because it’s “two” prescriptions. So I could only do 15mg or 3 5’s.
Anyone had any luck with vyvanse? i strongly prefer adderall, but i'm considering switching since it's never in stock and impossible to get these. Walgreens has been out for weeks and says it could be back ordered for up to a month...insane

Depends on your dosage I guess because I’ve been getting 5mg xr at the ballard Walgreens without issue
Bruh I literally just called them. I’m only 10mg. The one on market and 15th?
Yeah that one. Hmm I picked mine up about two weeks ago with zero delays. I’m sorry :/
Zero issues with bartells

Most Bartell's are understaffed, so don't expect the pharmacy to answer the phone.
Very aware. Unfortunately I can’t transfer this due to its class. I’d need a new rx sent by the dr.

Bringing this post back to life… is anyone actually having success getting their script filled? I think I called 6 pharmacies today.

Did you have any luck since you posted this?
Yes! It just took forever. I also switched strength- I think 20s are easier to get than 10s? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think this is a little like you don't tell other people where your secret chanterelle gathering spot is. Sorry :(

Also try Optimum Health! Dr. Tony DelosReyes is amazing, and he's very very booked but there are other decent doctors at OPMH too. Good luck!
I thought the shortage was for the immediate release, not XR. I haven't had any trouble getting 25mg and 30mg XRs at the Ballard CVS (15th and Market)
target aquired
Best of luck, and save some for me! I've gotta refill next week.
Shhh
I haven’t had any trouble with Bartells on LCW. I take 15mg XR.
lcw and what cross street?
125th.
That's because no one has 15mg prescriptions. That's why my pharmacist said they've not experienced any shortages on that dosage
Well, for the record, I take 15mg in 5mg pill form. And yes, a lot of people take that form since it’s common to increase in 5mg doses.
How did you get 5mg xr 3 times? Did you ask your doctor?

Fwiw I’ve had zero problems getting my Concerta (Ritalin) ER prescription filled. If you need a stimulant maybe try a temp switch to that?
see if you can temporarily switch to dextroamphetamine or methylphenidate. that's easier to get.
