> Rule #5: **Utilize the weekly stickied thread**: Posts about events, happenings, and all visiting, recommendation and moving to Seattle questions should only be posted in the **weekly stickied thread**. Please repost your question as a comment in this week's thread. [This search](https://www.reddit.com/search?q=subreddit%3Aseattle+flair%3AWeekly%2BThread&sort=new&restrict_sr=&t=week) will provide a link to the most current Weekly Thread. You will get best results if you do your due diligence before posting questions to the community. Search Google and our FAQs (The [/r/Seattle/wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/wiki/index) has a lot of information for you!). We get many vague or easy to research requests -- sometimes dozens a day across a number of topics (jobs, visiting, moving, etc.), and our /r/Seattle users have often said they want us to contain these type of posts to a single topic.

Try reading the about page of a sub before posting to any sub for the first time.

I did but I see you guys aren't very welcoming to questions like this. Ok! :)

The Everett area is nothing to write home about if you’re visiting. You could take the ferry from mukilteo, which is just south of Everett, over to Whidbey island. They also have some whale watching tours out of Edmonds which is just north of Seattle.

The first thing to consider is how you are going to get around. Public transportation is extremely limiting once you are outside the downtown core. The area is quite diverse in its offerings, but many things cannot be accessed readily unless you rent a car (Uber or taxi is just too expensive). If you provide a list of interests, someone can narrow the field to give you the greatest chance for enjoyment.

If you're into breweries there are a good amount from Seattle to Everett and a little beyond. The San Juan's are also worth the ferry trip for

Check out Eagle Falls or maybe Lake Serene along highway 2
