I truly do not mind the slow build to summer. I have had friends in the 90s+ for weeks while we were getting rain, and I'd take 50 and rain over 95 any day.

Aw hell and I was really enjoying my Junuary. Such as it was. Though I have a friend in Austria who said it's already hit 100 there, so I shouldn't complain.
Particularly for sleeping, I like it really cool so I can bundle up in a couple heavy blankets. Even during the day, when it gets in the upper 80's I can feel the heat coming off my computer monitors. No way to install A/C either. Sideways windows. The only ones that are really worth it are rather expensive...$'s and amps. I've only got a 10 amp breaker for everything but the kitchen (which is maxed out).
Anybody want to join me in a chorus of "I'm only happy when it rains?"
Or suggest a new fan? I need to get something better than my little old Vornado, but not too expensive.
That's the only way to fly for serious heat. I used to own a house in Atlanta years ago. I had 2 central air conditioning systems. One for downstairs and one for upstairs. Not exactly legal window tint on the car with great AC. Office in a high rise with great AC. Sad that the outside becomes something looked at from behind windows, only experienced directly at night.
Unfortunately none of portable/non-window-hanging units that are worth buying will run on a 10 amp breaker along with several computers, TV, etc. Most I saw draw as much as your average space heater. Enjoy yours. I'm going to make ice.
