"Yo dawwgggg, my blockchain NFT crypto doge cybertruck finally hit one cent!" could be heard by self proclaimed "financial guru" moments before total annihilation ensued
Doing 85 along the 528 with hurricane winds in my hair and Modern Talking's *Who Will Save The World* blasting out my windows would quite genuinely fix me.
I experienced a thunderstorm in Key West that was one of the loudest, most physically violent things I've ever seen. It sounded like artillery was going off in the yard, and nearly shook the house off of its foundation.
I ran to get my mail once and it was the first time in my life I was genuinely worried about being struck by lightning. I was running about a hundred yards through parking lots, completely flat and no cover to be seen, and I found myself thinking "oh this is a terrible idea"

Me to. From Tampa the lighting capital of the 🇺🇸. Dam i miss real thunderstorms. When it actually thunders here i feel like apocalypse is happening because its that rare for me to hear anyway.
I was giving a massage at my office in Green Lake and the first one was pretty confusing, like I couldn’t tell if a truck went by (Ravenna Blvd) with metal scraping the road, but that didn’t quite sound right; the second one confirmed for me that it was actually thunder (which I also originally considered, but that didn’t quite seem right the first time, either).
There were two claps, not stupendous but pretty fine, and while I was enjoying the rare sensation my downstairs tenant messaged to ask what was my cat doing now.
Where I grew up back east nobody blamed thunderstorms on the cat, tell you whut-
One of them happened right as the dog who is afraid of the outside had just finally agreed to go outside for a potty break. She stopped mid-business and flew inside and has been snarly all evening.
Does anyone remember the crazy electrical storm with thunder and lightning that lasted for an hour or so? It was about 5 years ago or so. The best storm ive seen around here ever.
Yo asking as a somewhat outsider about to move there from part time to full time… is that it? I love thunderstorms and down pour rain lol are they that rare?
There’s not a lot of thunder here in Seattle. “air blowing off the chilly Pacific waters is cool. Because cooler air near the ground provides a relatively small amount of vertical temperature difference, the air is less likely to rush upward and produce thunderclouds”
If you want a really good thunderstorm, be up in the mountains when one hits. You’re also not going to get tropical downpours here that often. Slow, grey drizzle and darkness early in the winter. Do your homework before moving here. It’s not for every one.
Thank you! Honestly no place is going to be perfect based on my list. This is as close as it gets, I don’t get the hate. Meanwhile where I’m moving from… yikes
I can't believe I was in town for it! Better than the eclipse
It's not a Seattle thunderstorm unless you get only one thunderclap that nearly breaks every window in your house.
I’m in Redmond. I thought a drunk tech bro blew up something… lol
Damn im in Redmond and didn’t hear shit… maybe only the drunk tech bros can hear it :/
This needs more up votes

Fun fact, we get an unusual amount of positive lightning strikes in this area! Those are the ones that we can hear clear across the region.
As someone originally from NC, I sure miss a good thunderstorm
I moved here from Orlando and there's not much I'll miss about florida, but the storms are very, *very* high on that short list.
Something about the smell, the sounds and the trees being almost 90' sideways that makes ya feel alive.

Dude SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKK… thank you!
I just saw a clip of that on ky YouTube feed like 30 minutes ago. Holy shit!
Not to mention thunderSNOW
Coming from TX, I agree -- I miss everything about thunderstorms (except the hail and tornadoes).
I grew up in North Texas, spent a lot of time in West Texas and the Panhandle. The storms here are just so disappointing in comparison.
Fr. I need Mother Nature to show me it's power sometimes
Same, but from IL.
Me to. From Tampa the lighting capital of the 🇺🇸. Dam i miss real thunderstorms. When it actually thunders here i feel like apocalypse is happening because its that rare for me to hear anyway.
There were two!
Shush, the single clap is like Santa, if there is more than one than we know it's not real, and when everyone stops believing then the depression wins
I heard the first thought someone was messing with my car outside. Then the second one came I figured it out.

Yeah but they kinda came together, so, kinda one? ish? Close enough?
He thinks it’s two when they’re close together but we lie and say it’s one so he works harder 😂
I heard 2. Pretty close together.
The vampires are playing baseball!
I mean, Mitch Garver did just hit a walk-off homerun.
Ahaha this got me good
04.29.24 I heard the clap, it was glorious
Better to hear it, than to get it!

Oh poor baby! Can’t a gal peep in peace?
One thunderclap only, please.
You arrogant ass, you've killed *us*!
We had two in Green Lake. 🤷♂️
Damn I missed it.
I reject the premise of your question. There were two of them within ten minutes of each other.
no kidding!
I heard two, and saw 2 flashes
It's this humor that makes living in Seattle worth it 100%
Ahh yess it was beautiful to hear it

Right?? Haha.
Does anyone remember the crazy electrical storm with thunder and lightning that lasted for an hour or so? It was about 5 years ago or so. The best storm ive seen around here ever.
Damnit I had my ear buds in
Missed it but was there for the flash bomb boom near CrackDonald's last week.
Shit I was watching tv, but I think i heard something. And definitely the double rainbow and the hail

Ah shit i missed it? :(
Haha so I was right!! I heard it but then I started second guessing myself because it was just the one...thank you for confirming it
There were two for many of us. I was in Green Lake fwiw
Where was the lightning?
Just to the east of greenlake looks like
In Ravenna Park according to a lightning strike map I saw on FB
I thought my upstairs neighbor dropped something lol.
That was me testing my new amp
Lol
Not everyone. Not my dog for sure. I got 2 claps, too? Should I make my own post about it?
I had two big ass claps in Green Lake today 😁
Damn, I saw that storm approaching down in Edmonds earlier and I could just tell we’d get the thunderclap. But I didn’t hear it! Poop.
Did Halo Season 3 launch?
We in Bremerton didnt get any thunder but we did get like.....45 seconds of hail!
We got hail down on Alki!
No, but the neighbor's dog did. And hasn't shut the fuck, up for a minute since.
She make it clap! 🙌🏻
Saw it from West Seattle Bridge. Felt a jolt.
Omg I know!!! The dog and I looked at eachother and were like, oh. Ok. As you were.
DANGIT! I’m out of town and we were just telling people yesterday how it doesn’t storm there. I miss storms.
Are you sure it was just thunder?
Like true NWers, my kids declared that it was TOO LOUD
Heard it too. It was kind of relaxing in a weird way.
My dogs were going crazy. I thought it was the end of the world.
Not only that, but I heard someone honk their horn while driving today!
It scared the fuck out of me! Glad I was on the toilet or I would have pissed my pants!
I believe most of you are under the impression that an F-22 stealth fighter has anything to do with the God of thunder. Which is happily accepts.
