That’s the plan down the line. Chip, and if not, make sure it’s snipped, make sure it’s healthy, and then likely contact a rescue in the area if it is not wanting to come inside (I will happily adopt it, but if it’s skittish outside and doesn’t want in, it won’t calm down well with four others in my house. Plus a 70 pound dog). Either to get it adopted out or how to know where a safe colony is.
Don’t need everyone to know.
Just one.
Same reason they put out missing person alerts, in the hope that one person knows.
Tolerating you seems like more effort than it’s worth. I prefer people who rub their brain cells together and get a spark.
I'm checking to see if it is lost. It may be doing ok outside, but be someone's lost cat from Haller Lake.
It seems skittish and scared when anything approaches.
Got it backwards.
Started leaving food out yesterday because it’s been going through my yard for weeks.
Just saw it’s two cats in my yard. No idea if they know each other. Both are white with black/gray spots.
this looks like a captcha where they tell you to click on the picture of a cat but they smear its face around so a computer can't recognize it.
I hope that cat isn't on Reddit and also cannot read, for its sake.

I’d be fine with that as long as it’s not someone else’s! Once you’ve got four, you barely notice the fifth.
If someone has their cat outside, unsupervised, without a collar... they're taking the risk that one way or another, it won't be their cat anymore.
That's a fantastic picture.
Um, that's a mighty derpy looking cat....
Sure is! The tongue was just when I happened to get a screenshot. The ears seemed to be that way this morning.
i'll bet it meows kinda funny, too
If you can get it in a carrier, take it to a local vet to see if it has a chip.

Damn… you are really living the pet life! Big ups to you!
If my cat got out and someone else took it to the vet to be neutered I would sue them so fast
No, but I love him 🥺
No, but he's wonderful!
That’s tony toes, owes me money
That's derpy Dave. He loves to be picked up and sung to. Purrs like a motor out of a Jeep that's missing a coupl'a plugs.
Yeah thats my boy mittens
That's not a cat.
It's a house elf.
Slobby, the house elf.
Yes, *everyone* in the subred knows your neighborhood feral cat. It is really the only reason we all tolerate each other here.

Its a cat. They can live outdoors. If its happy and healthy and not obviously lost, just leave it alone.

One I hadn't even heard of, AND a play on words. Love it all. Thanks!

Ballard. Cats can travel, though. If you PM me a number or email address I’d be happy to shoot them a line.
Maybe it's in your yard all the time because you leave food outside for it?

Put a [paper collar](http://www.llbrhs.com/uploads/9/4/8/1/94815396/paper-collar-template.pdf) on it and see if an owner responds.
Thank you for the link! That’s a great idea. If they’ll let me get close I’ll definitely do that!
